(USS Iluminar - Deck 6 - Science Lab 5 - Drs. Gailus Penn and Teller - 0905)

Teller had his feet up on a stool and was studying the board intently.
He had recently taken up the game ‘Go’ and was still devising
strategies.  Right now, he was ranked as an 11 kyu, and was playing
against a 6 kyu.  His opponent had made him make a series of bad moves,
as Teller got greedy and missed he was being setup.

Reaching for his mug, and finding it empty, he got up and headed over to
their bar.  There he made a double espresso and added some whiskey to
it.  Turning his head, he looked at his partner, “Temba, his arms wide,”
he said, holding the mug out.

Penn had watched his friend learn to play his game, but it was a little
too abstract for him to relax with.  He preferred simpler pleasers with
light reading.  He had discovered and replicated a series of periodicals
that gave him more visual enjoyment.

He smiled at Tellers offer and replied, “Picard and Dathon at El-adril.”

As Teller set the mug on his table he held out a periodical entitled,
Nude Volleyball, and gave a similar offer, “Temba his arms wide?”

“Sokath, his eyes opened,” Teller said with a smile. “The professor, on
the island, with the coconut.”  His Go game forgotten, the Tamarian
began to filp throught the periodical. He sipped his espresso as he
marveled at the athleticism demonstrated by those who’s images graced
the pages of this periodical.

A yellow light started flashing that caught Teller’s attention.

The solar system they were in was on one monitor, and the planet they
were circling was on a second.  All manners of different colored lines
with corresponding equations were displayed on the screens. The Tamarian
looked at the incoming data with a puzzled frown.

Penn could sense the change in his partners mood and dropped his
magazine on the table to see what was on the monitors.  “William Foster
at the Burger Stand.”

Teller looked at Penn and tapped the screen. “Asimov on science,” he said.
