knowledge of the Klingons, bypassing all of their security protocols and
our agreements with the Klingons, and your only response is unorthodoxy?
If they find you in here there’ll be hell to pay! … Captain,” he urged
Sekal, “you must send her back and have her come down through the accepted
protocols.”

“Unorthodoxy?!” McKenzie cried out. “You beam directly in here without
knowledge of the Klingons, bypassing all of their security protocols and
our agreements with the Klingons, and your only response is unorthodoxy?
If they find you in here there’ll be hell to pay! … Captain,” he urged
Sekal, “you must send her back and have her come down through the accepted
protocols.”

Lanista looked to Captain Sekal who gave something of a shrug. His facial
expression conveyed the commanding officer's belief that while McKenzie
might be suffering from an emotional outburst, the ambassador's heart was
in fact in the right place.

"I didn't precisely beam in here," Lani' said. "I chrono-deflected.
Different process, but I do take your point. And you may take mine," she
added. In a very non-threatening way, she produced the small blade from the
vambrace on her left arm. She handed the weapon to McKenzie, stating, "I'll
return to the ship and arrive in a more conventional manner. But since I
will then be observing all of their formalities even as they observe few or
none of ours, they will seize all of the weapons honor will require me to
carry."

Turning to Sekal, she handed her C.O. a PADD. "The data resulting from
analysis of the explosion's residue are on this device. They were …
unexpected. I was in the middle of running the tests again when you called
me down here. You can share it, of course, to T'Mur and Bohb if you wish.
There is a transmission protocol enabled on the PADD."

"I'll be back," Lanista intoned. She tapped a button on her vambrace and
chrono-deflected back to her time-pod.
