(USS Illuminar - Deck 2 - COps Office - 2/O&CMDR Dieter Gregory - 1010)

The chime rang, and Gregory called "Enter."

In walked their Science officer.  "Dismissed Miss Ywan," Gregory said as 
his CPO left the office.  "Good morning Ms. T'shalaith, thank you for 
coming."  He stood up and limped to the replicator, "A drink," he asked 
as he ordered a hot tea.

"Have a seat," he said motioning to the seat across from his desk. 
"Since we're still in retrofit an resupply, I wanted to take this 
opportunity to check in with you to see what unmet needs your department 
might have.  We are overseeing the upgrade of the sensor arrays, and 
those should be ready for testing soon.  I'd also like to see a rooster 
of your current staff and their proficiency ratings.  I'm not trying to 
meddle in your department, but need to know as we are going to Klingon 
space, and we'll need to be careful as we do."

"Yes, I would suggest you run the teams through some drills, specially 
seeing if we can work on better measurements of cloaked ships.  We've 
had some luck with that in the past, but it is still a bit of a guessing 
game.  I hope these new sensor arrays will help us with that."  He 
paused, "And yes, I suspect trouble, its a gut feeling at the moment, 
but the first step in avoiding a trap is knowing of its existence."

"Make sure you let me know what additional power draws your department 
might need and any extra time to practice and prepare.  Yes, we are a 
research vessel, but this is a diplomatic mission and  who knows how 
that will go.  If you are able to couch extra scanning as research, 
please show the results to me."

"Very good, dismissed," Gregory said, concluding the interview.
