(USS Illuminar - Deck 2 - COps Office - 2/O&COps CMDR Dieter Gregory - 0905)

The door chimed, "Enter, " he called.

In walked the man of the hour, who stood at attention, :Ensign Alexander 
Dyson, Flight Control, reporting as ordered, Sir."

"At ease Ensign," Gregory said.  "Help yourself to refreshments, if you 
wish, and take a seat."  Gregory pointed to the small replicator.

"You are one of the new crew coming on-board the Illuminar, and I wanted 
to take a chance to meet you and get to know you better."  He sipped 
from his mug of tea.  "Operations is the lifeblood of the ship, keeping 
things together, in order, ensuring repairs are done properly, the 
transporters work on time, and the like. So I feel its good to know 
who's doing the work, if that makes sense."

(Dyson)

"I've looked over your file, not a traditional path to the fleet, I 
see.  What  brings you to the Illuminar at this time, this place?"

(Dyson)

Gregory listed and nodded.  Making notes here and there.  "Very 
interesting," he commented.  "But what motivates you to leave your old 
life and join the fleet?  You've been around the quadrants, flying a 
remarkable collection of craft, but now you have come here.  Enlist and 
put on the uniform.  Surely there is more to it?"

(Dyson)

"One last thing, I am sure you are used to solving problems on your own, 
jury rigging things to keep flying.  I know I did when I was on DS9. 
Here, on the Illuminar, I'd prefer that you notify operations of issues 
you might observe so we can take care of them.  I am sure you do fine 
work, but there may be other factors in play that you are unaware of, 
but operations is.  Letting us know if  you find issues will make sure 
they are addressed in the timely fashion, based on the operational needs 
of the ship."

He looked at the man again, "Any questions?"

"Very well, dismissed."
