(Earth - Shadow Pines- Hamptons  - SecO, CPO Steven Hammons - 1815)

The Butler welcomed them on the veranda.

“Ah Mr. and Mrs. Hammons, Welcome to Shadow Pines.  It is an extreme honor
to meet you, Ms. Leeza.  Please come in.”

Steven watched a man and a woman come up to him wearing complimentary
garments, true servant attire and gave up the bags after an instant of
shocked hesitation.

"Uh... thanks. Much appreciated." He said as the last one was handed over.

“If you look straight across, there is quite a view of the Atlantic Ocean.
There you will find a heated outdoor pool, but. Little girls must have a
grown-up to swim with.  But I do not swim.”

"No problem there, we'll keep an eye on her." Steven gave the butler a shrug

“Miss Quinna has also had a playground set up including a treehouse out on
the East end of the house.  You will be able to access it from your room.
Ms. Leeza has her own room with a shared door.”

"Well, well. Quite thoughtful, thanks."

“Did you say Quinna?  No, I am done, I want to go home. Don’t like her.”

Steven rolled his eyes at that one.

“I do believe she also has made sure that there will be a fresh chocolate
cake,” the butler was trying to be a good host and appeared to have been
informed of her weaknesses.

 “I don’t like chocolate cake.  Can we go?”

Steven gave her 'the eye' at that one. "That wasn't even a very good lie
Leeza, I would have expected better of you. We will be staying here for a
day or two. If you don't want to mingle with the hostess or eat chocolate
cake while you are here that's on you. You can even spend most of your time
in the nice room they are supplying if you wish but you will be staying
here while we are here."

And then her surrogate 'family' started running up trying to smooth things
over.

"That's all right, I've got this." Steven picked Leeza up. "She is going to
retire to her room until she cools off and you can play with her later."

Carrying the bundle he followed the butler. "Our quarters first please so I
can make this one comfortable."
