Mission: Death in the Shadows
Day: 9
Stardate: 2446.02.09
(Sigma Draconis VI - Underground Complex - Cadet Surkal - 1344.5)
After handing over his PADD to the senior officer, Surkal knew that
his place was to observe and wait for instructions. Rank hath its
privilege, and cadets were at the bottom of that ladder. He kept his
eyes and ears attuned to the situation, however, mentally cataloging
each stretch of hallway for whatever aide it may provide.
The males they encountered showed them through a whisper quiet door
that had perfectly blended with the wall before opening. His eyebrow
raised sharply and he concluded that he would have to reexamine his
mental catalogue to adjust for potential hidden doorways. The heat
from the panel outside his cell door had been obvious, but this was
somewhat more intriguing.
Once they'd reached the destination of their invite, the men - ever
silent like the towering Ancients of Days that gazed over the Eastern
Ocean on his home planet - lined up. As the Captain addressed their
host, he took up station next to Lt. T'Mur, his stance almost
indicating eagerness with his forward posture.
He listened with intent to the conversation between Captain Sekal and
the Controller, while taking various moments to glance about, in order
to be more prepared should something of note arise.
What the pirates had promised the people here was obviously a lie, he
surmised, as the Controller sounded very - elemental - compared to
their surroundings. Until addressed or ordered, he could do little,
and so he waited and watched.
