Mission: Space was cool before it mattered
Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.04.25
(USS Exeter - Starlight Lounge - Ensign Rylee Page - 0638)
"To live. To live life to the fullest is the greatest adventure of all. To
be, to be me, authentically me in everything I do. To live life, that is
what I want from everything, to truly experience life at its fullest, to be
open to every experience it might throw my way, even if it is not what I
planned for myself. That is what I want. To be open to whatever, to live
for whomever, to be me. Life, life is an awfully big adventure."
"You have a point there. Being open is not a problem for me. It's more
finding the right balance between keeping some mystery and being open
enough to let people see the real you."
"Of course, I think you are holding back in your answer. You skimmed the
surface. Gave the expected answer. But have you ever asked yourself the
question, what truly makes me tick?" Santiago stood up. "I"ll leave you
alone with that one. Consider it something to think about in the dullness
of the mundane. Who is Rylee Page? Why am I here? What do I truly want?
Everyone wants a promotion or to be recognized. But what makes you stand
out from the rest of the ops personnel? Think about that the next time you
get lost in the jeffries tubes, it will make things go faster, trust me."
Rylee watched as her co-worker walked away. ~he's an interesting character.
~ she thought to herself as she stood herself. Taking a moment to consider
his questions, she smiled to herself, shook her head and sighed, "That's a
set of questions that would take an evening to answer." She muttered to
herself as she left the Starlight lounge. ~but really… who am I?~
