(USS Exeter - Main Engineering - ACEO, Lieutenant Ethan Miller -0805)



"You ever feel like engineering is at its most boring when we are not
actually going anywhere?" Brightwood asked as he approached Ethan who was
currently analyzing the current configuration of the warp plasma system.



Ethan laughed and nodded.

" I know what you mean, what good are we if we aren't fixing other people's
problems. "


 "Sometimes I feel like the warp core is sad when we sit here, for all
intents and purposes, parked and she doesn't get to take us anywhere. You
know, if warp cores get sad."


Ethan looked over at his fellow ACEO and shook his head.

" Getting philosophical about the warp core again? Dude, did you pull
another all nighter?"  He asked Brightwood either a laugh.



Alistair let out a big yawn. "I don't suppose you could handle the alpha
shift on your own and I can just go back to bed. Just warm up in my cozy
covers." Alistair I sighed.

"I suppose it is my fault really for staying up way too late last night
working on side projects. Oh well. Should be another boring day, don't you
think?"


Ethan could do nothing but smile.

" Just go to your office and get some rest. If anyone comes looking for you
I'll tell them you're busy going over work order requests for me to review
later."

Ethan leaned in close and whispered.

" I already reviewed the work order requests, I just haven't signed off on
them yet. So go take some time to recharge."

" Dude." Ethan said with a smile.
" You covered me last Friday night at the last minute so Trin and I could
grab dinner. The way I see it, if we aren't gonna do the occasional solid
for one another then both of our lives are gonna be more difficult than
they have to be."
