"Yeah, but my quarters are on this deck, so I figured I'd bring the report myself," said Roger. "It's nice to get around and see people."

"With a crew of about 400 people, it's still feel strange how many we don’t get to meet," said Arbor

"Or perhaps people we don't want to meet." Roger chuckled. It was true one couldn't truly get along with everyone, but not wanting to at least meet and become familiar with crew mates, was a joke he probably shouldn't have made.

"I guess nights must be strange with the ship so quiet as everyone is asleep?” said Arbor.

"On a starship in space, it's never really night. It's a simulated time to keep all ships and bases synched together. I never understood why the lights were lowered. People working still need to see." Roger paused. "Being on nights had a comforting feeling. It's nice sometimes to be working on your own."

Roger got a faraway look on his face as he remembered the times he would spend alone on his rock in the woods. He could almost hear the sounds of the stream gently flowing past.
