Arbor said, "We did the same. Although I do wonder is if we were learning from our new boss or he was learning from us?"

Part of security training was learning to control one's facial reactions and body language. There were times and situations where it was necessary to show a neutral stance, to not be read by a potential adversary. It was essentially the same during a conversation with someone. Roger was learning and getting better at it, but when Arbor made that comment about their department head, he couldn't help letting out a frown.

Roger was still the new guy on the Exeter. He was still finding his place and getting to know personalities. That's why he wasn't sure about what Arbor said. In case he wasn't clearly understanding what was meant, he decided to not make an issue of it.

"We're all learning everyday," said Roger. That seemed to be enough.

"You know the computer can move the report almost instantaneously. You don’t have to do it by hand?" said Arbor.

"Yeah, but my quarters are on this deck, so I figured I'd bring the report myself," said Roger. "It's nice to get around and see people."
