Mission: Space was cool before it mattered
Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.04.25

(USS Exeter - Science Lab 1 - Science Officer Henry Parker - 1519)

Henry was only half listening to what Erin was saying to the Commander and Ensign. He was focused on his star charts, more of a side project than anything. But he heard enough that he could answer intelligently when called upon.

"We have confirmed this. Mister Parker?”

Henry turned around, “That we have, Lieutenant.”

"Would you please explain how you have confirmed these findings.”

“Well, you were the one who discovered it. I just ran it through a number of models that all agree this is the cycle. Scans from the Exeter and scans from the shuttle craft both showed the same data. Very little variation.”

“That may explain some unusual results,” Bella mused, "and a partial reason why we’re seeing the results that we are, Commander?”

Ailynn nodded. “We have a lot more test to do, but it seems that you and your team have stumbled onto something. We are seeing beneficial effects of the nebulonic radiation, but it’s interspersed with periods of more malignant symptoms. There’s something…I can’t put my finger on. Thoughts anyone?”

“Well, the obvious answer is that the more radiation there is the more malignant symptoms. But something tells me the periods of malignancy you’re seeing don’t exactly line up with the cycles Lieutenant Cortez found?”

(Reply Bella, Ailynn)

“Is it possible that there are multiple sources of radiation, and we haven’t been able to isolate them? So when one wanes, another waxes. Some times the more beneficial radiation comes through, other times it’s occluded.”
