Ronnie pressed the button on the tricorder, looked at the result, and sighed.

"It says 21.”

“If the reading is wrong,” Heinrich said, “At least it’s consistently wrong. But I’m leaning to thinking it’s somehow, inexplicably, right.”

"Hypothetically doctor, if I'm really reversing in age, I mean, is it just the last two years, or is this going to be constant into oblivion?”

Heinrich took the tricorder back and rubbed his brow. “I don’t like to deal in hypotheticals. As far as I know it has happened, but the process can be reversed.”

Before Ronnie could say anything she collapsed again in pain. Her face reminded Heinrich of Trinity’s. The moment reminded him of his failure.

"Doctor, I think....I think my bones are starting to....shrink....." She said trying to speak through the pain.

Heinrich whipped the tricorder out again and scanned. “18” He said. He scanned himself. “No change.” He put the tricorder aside and took out a washcloth from the medkit.

“If I’m not de-aging there’s only one environmental factor that could be at play.” He gently lifted Ronnie out of the goo, taking care to not get any of it on himself, and handed her the washcloth. “Wash yourself off.”
