Mission: Andromeda's Chain
Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.01.03

(USS Exeter – Jefferies Tubes – aFO, Lt. Cmdr. Keira Merek – 0449)

"And, if we do?" Erin said as they stopped at the junction.

“Then a quick burst of non-lethal violence might be called for.” Keira admitted.

"Don't get me wrong, I've seen violence…" Erin paused then continued, "It's just.. these are our crewmates, our friends…"

“ Which is why the violence is non-lethal.” ~The one day I don’t bring my raptor claw with me..~ “…and also why one of our objectives should be to determine if this mutiny is of their own volition or if they are being controlled somehow.” Keira said.

"Sorry, this is just… I'm worried, Keira. I think we need to connect with Commander Bracken but what if she is.. like the others?" Erin asked.

“She doesn’t seem this heavy handed. If she is at the front of this, she’s being controlled for sure.” Keira deduced.

"We need a way to make sure that she, and any others, are… well not with the dark side to coin an old terrain phrase."

“I have a scan of the two that attacked Astrometrics, so that’s a start. Admittedly we may need a deeper scan to figure out if there’s a force or something controlling our people.” Keira said.

"Let's just get to your place and go from there. If we stay in one place too long, we run the risk of being discovered. "

Keira nodded and swung open the bulkhead panel that opened to the corridor proper, and ran right into a two person patrol.

~Should have checked the corners.~

“Hey, what are you two doing here?” the first security personnel asked.

(Reply Erin)

“Yeah, just routine maintenance.” Keira said sheepishly.

“Really? The First Officer and the Chief Science officer?”

“Sometimes I miss Engineering..” Keira said with a shrug.

(Reply Erin)

“Yeah, I’m going to call this in…” the second one said, unconvinced.

As the security enlisted reached for his combadge Keira quickly snatched it off his chest throwing it to the deck, with the other hand smashed his trachea with a reverse chop sending him reeling to the ground on his knees, clutching his throat, unable to speak.

(Reply Erin)

While the first one reached for his hand phaser Keira slapped down on the upper housing of the weapon and up on the underside of the wrist knocking the weapon out of his hand and clattering to the ground. The guard swung at Keira’s head with a closed fist. She dodged to the outside, then stepped in and behind the guard. As she wrapped one arm around he managed to get his chin down guarding from a choke. With one arm he tried to release her grip but wasn’t gaining any leeway. He slapped his combadge and tried speaking. “Martinez to…” which was just enough for Keira to slip her arm underneath and cinch the choke. “Computer, cancel…” Keira said as she pushed against the back of his head turning her maneuver into a blood choke. She saw Erin had dealt with the other one in her own way.

(Reply Erin)

Keira eased her unconscious combatant down to the ground. “You OK?”

(Reply Erin)

“Yeah, sorry there was no warning to that, had to act fast.” Keira apologized. “We’ll need to stow these two.”

(Reply Erin)

“Not ideal, no. On the bright side, we can grab that deep scan now.” Keira said. She grabbed the combadge off of the one, and the combadge off of the ground.

(Reply Erin, any)
