Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.01.03
(USS Exeter – Astrometrics - CSO Lt Erin Cortez – 0451)
“Hey, what are you two doing here?” the first security personnel asked.
Without missing a beat, Erin smiled and replied, "Routine maintenance."
“Yeah, just routine maintenance.” Keira said sheepishly.
“Really? The First Officer and the Chief Science officer?”
“Sometimes I miss Engineering..” Keira said with a shrug.
"And I asked my friend to give my a hand aligning some of the sensors that
are looking into where we are."
“Yeah, I’m going to call this in…” the second one said, unconvinced.
As Keira moved towards one of the security officers, Erin glanced at the
other. For a moment, neither knew what to do and they just looked at each
other.
The young woman stepped towards Erin and, almost immediately, Erin felt a
flash of something akin to rage. Just for a nanosecond, but it was enough.
Stepping forward into her path, Erin raised her phaser and almost went to
aim.
As the woman went to grab the phaser from her, Erin swung it round hard and
hit her on the side of the head causing the young woman to stumble.
Regaining her posture quick, the officer swung her fist and, as Erin
ducked, the fist caught her shoulder, sending her back into the corridor
wall. With a groan, Erin glanced at her, smiled and ducked, kicking out
with her left leg at the woman's knee.
As she crumpled to the floor, Erin whispered, "Sorry.. " as she hit her on
the side of her head, knocking her out.
“Computer, cancel…” Keira said as she pushed against the back of his head
turning her maneuver into a blood choke. She saw Erin had dealt with the
other one in her own way.
"Two for two." Erin winked, wincing a slight moment as a pain in her
shoulder flared.
Keira eased her unconscious combatant down to the ground. “You OK?”
"I'll be fine. Would have been nicer if we had had a warning…"
“Yeah, sorry there was no warning to that, had to act fast.” Keira
apologized. “We’ll need to stow these two.”
"Well, that's not ideal but I see your point."
“Not ideal, no. On the bright side, we can grab that deep scan now.” Keira
said. She grabbed the combadge off of the one, and the combadge off of the
ground.
"Let's put them in here " Erin pointed to a nearby room as she grabbed the
unconscious woman under her shoulders. "We should disable any computers in
there too."
(Reply Merek)
Erin began dragging the woman towards the door and opened it. "Not exactly
the Ritz but it's not ideal for anyone this."
(Reply Merek)
Lying the unconscious form down softly on the floor, Erin grabbed her
combadge, stashed it in her uniform pocket and stood by the door, "I'll
keep watch, you disable the computer in here. Can't have them sending for
help until we're long gone."
(Reply Merek)
"Exactly. How long?"
(Reply Merek)
"And when we get to your secret lair? How long do you need to do your
dastardly plan?"
(Reply Merek)
(Reply Merek, any)
