(USS Exeter – Holodeck3 –CFO – Lieutenant – Ire Williams – 0107)

 

"Ire, sweet Ire. How bout you, you are the most gentle and kindperson on the Exeter. You wouldn't hurt a fly. Well, you would a hologram ofyour fiance trying to kill you. Are you at your breaking point yet?"


“You have killed these people for your own sick amusement”
"Tell you what, let's test that. You'd fight a hologram, because it wasself defense and you know its not real. But would you kill someone unarmed? Howbroken are you?"

 "You will pay for this.”
He felt the stasisfield around him release him as he dropped to one knee. He in a glance he tookin the room around him. At the bodies of Clarke, Nesha and Erin, at More, Iana,Sleeford and Hammerfield who were still breathing. He looked down at his feetto where the still for of Greta was lying near him. He rose back to his feet ashe looked at “Maxine” and grippe the hilt of the dagger.


"Free shot Ire." Maxine said as she dropped to her knees."I am unarmed and surrender to you. What will you do?"


“End you.”


There was not anger,no screaming or shouting or bursting into tears. There was just a cold all-consumingnothingness. He sprung forward covering the distance between him and “Maxine” asfast as he could in case, she blocked him with another stasis field.


He looked into hereyes as he stepped in close. His grabbed her with one hand as he slid thedagger in between her fourth and fifth rib. It entered “Maxine” at an anglewhere it sliced to the heart and severed the aorta and as he pulled it back, hesaw that there was bright blood on its blade.


He watched as thelight in her eyes dimmed as he let go of her and the dagger. He stood there as“Maxine” crumpled to the floor in a bloody heap as he stared downunflinchingly.
“Not a hologramthen.”
