(USS Exeter - Holodeck 3 - "Maxine"- 0041)

“No.”

 "Excuse me?"

Erin stood, her whole being was shaking as she looked the woman in the eyes
and said, “You heard me. No.”

"Are you sure that is your answer?"

Erin laughed softly, “You don’t seem to understand what i said. I said NO!”
she yelled, looking at the woman with utter contempt as she continued,
“You…. you think that this scares me? That this whole situation is bad? I
refuse to choose. I will not choose for one of my friends, my colleague. I
will not make a choice that will have long lasting effects on him. You …..
Think that you know me, think that because i have cracked before that you
can do it to me again? NO! I will not choose and i will not have a
colleague choose something for me. My choice, my life.  You have no power
over me. You are the weak one here. So, go ahead. Do whatever you wish to
me. You have no hold on me. SO DO IT!” she screamed, taking several deep
breaths and feeling the pain in her palms as her nails dug into them.

Maxine began laughing maliciously. "Stupid, stupid girl. You still think
you are playing a game you can win. In my universe, before I escaped it, I
was responsible for the death of more than half the beta quadrant, do you
think I am scared of your little rants." Maxine stood up and smiled. "I may
be trapped here on the Exeter, and yes any moment now your command team
will probably stop you. I hadn't counted on a captain as deliciously
determined as your Trip or a first officer as beautiful and intelligent as
Bracken. Hell even those two Romulans are more trouble than I accounted
for. I am a trapped animal. Which means I am more dangerous now than ever
before. And you choose to test me, no child. It is I who will test you. I
will make them all suffer, and you will watch. You don't get to choose
anymore. I will wait until each and everyone of them is dead, and when they
are. I will leave you alive to live with the pain."

"And because of your insolence I will kill one of your colleagues. Will it
be Ire. No he is already broken. Will it be Lana, no Stan, or Sleeford, no,
I still have hope for them. Oh I know the cousin of your good friend Ravok."

"Goodbye Nesha, take solace in knowing you aren't the first Romulan I
killed."

In that moment electricity surged through Nesha's field in the same way it
had Clarke. In seconds she was dead.

Maxine then returned to her throne and sat down. "Now then Sleeford, I
guess you are choosing for you, Truth or Death?"
