“Sorry Ire, Getyour drink, I didn’t mean to yell at you.” 

 

He gave a slightsmile. 

 

“Don’t worry aboutit its bene a long day.”

 

“The replicator...themodulation of the voice...did you hear it? Here…” 

 

He nodded.

 

“Computer. Replaystandard replicator response from the unit by me.” 

 

[Acknowledged,replying Replicator response.]

 

“Hear it? Themodulation?”

 

“Yes, I do.”

 

“That was theartifact that we heard on the raw signal, it was resonance, the original soundand the recording tech run at the same variance. That’s what we heard. Thecleanup didn’t remove it as it was part of the original signal.”

 

“That’s crazy.”

 

He paused for a moment.

 

“Computer pleaserun standard replicator response side by side with the secure audio file.”

 

He paused as heheard what Bracken was saying. When it had finished, he turned and looked atBracken.

 

“Bloody hell…..sorryComander.”

 

He shook his head.

 

“I don’t believe it.It was there right in front of us all the time.”
