Mission: A new day dawns
Day: 3
Stardate: 2446.01.30

(USS Exeter, Main Engineering - Chief SCE, Vice Admiral Frolless jav Pros &
2O/CEO, Lt. Cmdr. Keira Merek - 1430)

The Admiral had spent over an hour examining bridge systems in minutia and
speaking to those at their stations before moving on. As they exited the
turbolift the Bos'n's whistle shot off again.

"Get back to work." The Tellarite said unceremoniously this time. Keira
could tell there was a healthy enough mix of new faces and familiar ones
that either they had gotten a fresh influx of crew or the crew was
augmented by station personnel. There were three that had to be transferred
off due to medical and psychological convalescence, they were part of the
Empress' crew that were turned and craved the structure that living under
her rule provided. Keira had remembered the retaking of main Engineering,
her face still swollen from Ire's knee. All this brought back thoughts for
Keira on the promise she had made to the Empress. A promise she never got
to hear because they never broke her malicious program.

~I will find you and I will kill you.~ The words she spoke echoed in her
mind, a promise that if she had made good, maybe her Lathuel would still be
here.

"Commander?" Pros said, "You seemed lost in thought for a moment."

"It's nothing." Keira lied. "Main Engineering. The Warp Core was initially
designed by James Williams II, with some modifications and updates after
the project was resumed in 2444."

"I'm familiar with it's history Commander," Frolless declared, "just tell
me you haven't put any of those Vulcan's crystals into the blasted thing."

"Not one, no sir." Keira said.

"Good," the Tellarite said, "Don't get me wrong. Hell of a discovery, truly
is. It... our crew and fellow ship mates deserve more than under a year of
testing to know *all *the drawbacks before lives are put on the line."

"Understood." Keira answered. She got the impression that this might be a
sticking point between the SCE Chief and the RnD Chief and maybe their
personal professional lives as well.

"Power output levels on the core alone are at or slightly above one of the
old Sovereign class starships." Keira started.

The Tellarite nodded his approval.

"We were a little short on Auxiliary power a few times..." Keira said
plainly.

"We noticed that too, with the power usage reports and time tables the
regenerative shields would have kicked in better in the Badlands mission if
you would have had more juice, so we've given you some, four new auxiliary
generators. You must have seen them on the docking manifest..." Pros stated.

"I was sort of preoccupied," Keira admitted.

"That can happen," Pros seemed to be speaking from experience, "Key is to
not let it happen so much."

"Aye." Keira said, but quickly changed the subject, "here's the master
systems display."

revenge when those we love are taken from us, but that's not who we are." -
