"That is a feeling that will only go away in time. You just have to trust
the process, trust your instinct, trust that you are where you are supposed
to be. Sometimes we have to stop listening to our head and listen to our
hearts."



“Yeah I get that.” Trinity said with a half smile. “Wouldn’t be the first
time that the heart had overruled the head, I think I’d never have left
home if it hadn’t.” She referred to when she’d left home with nothing at
about 19 after her father had repeatedly put her off applying to the
Academy.”



"So, what is your heart saying?"



“My heart is saying stay on the Exeter, where I’m happy, and where despite
recent events, I have friends. Here…” She motioned to the base around her,
“I’d feel like just another fighter Jock, nudging for my place. It’d feel
like a step back, and I don’t believe in those, any more than I’d go back
to flying a bathtub crop duster like I was back when I was 11.”

“Besides. Scuttlebut has it that we have a new toy.” She smiled and winked.
“I can’t wait to have a poke about, see what makes her tick.” Trinity found
herself smiling at the thought.
