"No broken bones, no brain injury. Just a cut and a soon to be black eye. Pretty good after a battle royal like that," said Kruze.

"Are you sure I didn't injure the part of my brain that thinks things through and considers the consequences?" said Jori.

"I can get you an anti-inflammatory, if you want," said Kruze. "But otherwise…"

The doctor was interrupted by two security personnel. Their demeanor was stern; Jori got the sense they would have preferred being somewhere else.

"Both of you are coming with us."

Jori was amused as Doctor Kruze protested, which escalated into an argument. Being in security herself, she had trained for situations like this. She knew the Doc wasn't going to win this one.

One of the officers looked at her. Jori could see a quick flush in his face, but he quickly recovered.

"Ma;am."

Jori resigned herself to what was coming next. Nodding, she headed off the field.
