Mission: Murder on the Exeter Express

Day: 2

Stardate: 2445.12.02

(USS Exeter - Deck 8 - Aft lounge - COO Ensign (sg) Paul Sleeford 09:15)

Sleeford sat at the table opposite Page after wishing her well in her new
relationship with Zot, the personal details to be honest where none of his
concern, as long as they worked well together, he was happy for them.

“Thank you, Sir. Can i ask something?”

Looking up from the table Sleeford smiled and nodded; "Of course, what do
you want to know?"

“How are you doing, Sir?”

Sleeford paused and stared at the coffee mug for several seconds, the
question seemed innocent enough, but the implications ran deeper.

"To be honest I've been better, I'm a suspect in an investigation of the
murder of a Starfleet intelligence officer, i'll be frank, the man was a
pain in the backside, however he didn't deserve to die. I have members of
the crew already assigning guilt and i would assume that the others are in
the same boat."

Sleeford paused and took a breath, the niggle he'd had earlier was not
smacking the back of his head trying to gain his attention.

"Add to that that there's something that is driving me mad, there's
something i'm not getting. Trouble is that I'm still a security man at
heart, despite the move to Ops, I'd like nothing more then to be out there
sticking my nose into things that i shouldn't, but i can't . Something is
not right with the entire set up and I'm not getting it, something that....
oh i don't know. I'll probably wake up in about three days time in the
early hours shouting like a loony and get carted away to the medical centre.

Rylee listened as he talked, not wanting to interrupt.
