“Perhaps this evening Lieutenant Dogan, over a meal. Whether formal or
informal, such a circumstance provides a relaxed social setting that can
facilitate more open communication than a traditional meeting, from what I
understand. Or perhaps we keep with the formalities and we meet in your
office this evening ?” She asked.
Cal swayed back and forth for a moment, in thought. Then he leaned forward
and looked at Delaxa intently, “No. You are correct. Perhaps a more
informal setting would be more… appropriate. Dinner would be fine.”
“Then it is settled, Lieutenant,” Delaxa declared. “I shall meet you this
evening at 1900.”
Then she turned to Commander Williams. “ If it is ok with Commander
Williams I will position myself away from vital systems until Lieutenant
Dogan has vetted me himself.”
Ire nodded, “yes, that sounds like a good idea.”
Dogan stood back up straight and turned to move back to his station, “Then
I shall see you at 1900 and the Nine and Dine.”
He returned to his station and went back to work, as though none of the
past few minutes had occurred. Except for the fact that he started his
vetting process by requesting Delaxa’s service records from the Romulan
adjutant at Starfleet Command.

"You are free to ask as many questions as allowed by protocol. Assuming
she's not under suspicion for any crime." Captain Merek said.
There was a beep on the Brikar’s PADD. Cal pulled it out and activated the
screen. He focused on it as his thumb scrolled through the data, then he
looked back up.
“It appears that she is not…yet,” the Brikar security officer responded .
“However, it will take time for me to process the information completely. I
have no questions for Centurion Delaxa at this time. I may later. No
offense, Centurion, but I believe her access to certain critical stations
should be restricted until she has been fully vetted.”
Delexa was shocked at the interaction between Captain Merek and the
Security officer. She could help but think of how this situation would be
handled on a Romulan Republic vessel. An exchange like this would never
happen in front of the crew.
Merek looked at him squarely and said, "The Centurion is to be afforded the
respect and responsibilities of an officer of her station. She is an
exchange officer so her clearance is need to know."
Delexa looked at the Brikar , curious as to what his response would be.
Stepping back he said, “As you command, so shall I follow.” Then he looked
at Delaxa. “Perhaps, Centurion, you and I could have a time to meet, before
you start your first duty shift?”
Delexa bowed her head toward him ever so slightly. “Perhaps this evening
Lieutenant Dogan, over a meal. Whether formal or informal, such a
circumstance provides a relaxed social setting that can facilitate more
open communication than a traditional meeting, from what I understand.”
Delexa offered respectfully. “ Or perhaps we keep with the formalities and

Delexa responded. Then she turned to Commander Williams. “ If it is ok with

Hewas pleasantly please to see that the situation was being settled sensibly. HADESRPG: (3-1855) Lt. Cal Dogan & Romulan Exchange Officer Centurion Delexa
From: almuir62 at gmail.com (Al Muir)
Date: Sat, 14 Mar 2026 09:25:44 -0700
Mission: Homecoming
Day: 3
Stardate: 2446.10.18
(USS Hades - Deck 9 - Nine and Dine- CSEC - Lt. Cal Dogan & Romulan
Exchange Officer Centurion Delexa- 1855)
Delexa had arrived at 1850 and found herself a seat, one that wasn't too
centralized as to cause them to have to use a louder volume in their
conversation but also one that wasn't too isolated from the view of others.
She hadn't ventured around the ship after having left the bridge earlier;
she went to her quarters and remained there until she had gained the
confidence of Lieutenant Dogan.
She knew she didn't technically need his blessing to venture the ship, but
she wanted to respect his station and demonstrate that she was there with
nothing but good and honest intentions. She sat waiting, wearing her
Romulan uniform. She had not ordered any beverage or food, she had learned
that doing so may be considered rude.
When Cal stepped into the Nine and Dine every conversation stopped. This
was the first time the Brikar had entered the establishment for anything
other than an official reason, for those who new him. For all others he was
just an imposing presence. After a few moments conversations resumed.
He scanned the room with his eyes and caught sight of Delaxa. She had
picked a strategic position away from most of the other diners and away
from the service entrance, so they could talk lowly. Under other
circumstances some might consider the placing as… romantic.
Dogan stepped up to the table and nodded to the Romulan. “Centurion.”
Delexa stood up immediately and had her hands on full display, a subtle
Romulan gesture to convey there was no threat intended. She bowed her head
to him lightly.
“Lieutenant Dogan, I hope my seating selection wasn't too impulsive.” She
said as she gestured to the chair for him to sit down.
Cal eyed the chair for a moment, considering its ability to support his
mass. He tapped his comm badge. “Computer, transport my personal chair to
this location.”
A moment later his reinforced chair appeared. He removed the chair at the
table and replaced with his own. Then he sat. The chair almost groaned at
the weight it supported. He looked up at Delexa and shrugged.
“I made the mistake of trusting a standard chair in the past,” he
explained. “Let’s just say I won’t make that mistake again.”
She sat down. “You are not missing out on much, the padding on these chairs
is very subpar.”
Cal chuckled, “I’ll take your word on that.”
“And no, impulsive was not the word I had in mind,” he answered her
question. “Thoughtful would be the descriptor I would use. I approve.”
She looked at him. She had never seen a Brikar actually sit down before. It
was a pleasant sight to see such a massive being relaxed.
They say looking at each other for a moment, and in true Brikarian fashion
he went straight to the heart of the matter. “Tell me Centurion, why did
you choose to be part of this exchange program?”
“I didn't." She said very quickly.
Cal was surprise, “Indeed?”
“I was assigned to the program by my superiors, because most of the
participants were from our 4th Fleet, Diplomatic and Escort Fleet to be
more precise. Central command wanted more participants from the other 4
fleets and with lack of volunteers, participants were chosen.” Delexa
explained.
“And what is your background?” Dogan asked.
“ I am from the 3rd fleet, Strike Fleet, Rapid-response warfare, Strategic
defense, and Counter-offensive capability are our specialty. We are less
politically and diplomatically inclined than the rest of the fleets. We are
soldiers, our place is out there…” Delexa said and looked with her eyes and
motioned with her head towards the windows and into the vastness of space.
“…Not some exchange program. Yet, I was selected and like any good soldier,
I do what I am told. So here I sit on a Federation vessel under the command
of a Starfleet Captain.”
Cal mused on that revelation for a moment. He appreciated her honesty. It
said much about her. It said that she followed orders, no matter what. It
also said that she had little, if any, personal stock in this venture.
He nodded, "Good soldier. I can appreciate that. Other than duty, what
motivates you to be here. Surely you could have passed on the opportunity
if you did not agree with the purpose of the program?”
Delexa chuckled a bit. “I could have but a refusal, even one that is
permitted, is placed upon our records. I am from a military family on both
sides, Lieutenant, exemplary service is expected.” She drew a deep breath.
“ Personally I s…”
“But,” Cal added.
“I do see the benefit of the program. The Federation and Republic are
allies after all. We have joint operations taking place, but I feel like my
time could be better spent on the front lines defending the Republic from
Klingons or the wandering ship clans of the Romulan Free State who wish
nothing more than to pirate our technology and resources.” Delexa
mentioned.
“I can appreciate your position,” Dogan said. “I might feel the same in
your place.”
“ May I ask you a question, Lieutenant ?”
The server came to the table and interrupted them. She looked at them as if
they were the oddest pair she’d ever seen. She might just be correct.
“What can I get for you folks?” she asked.
Dogan looked at the woman and chose to not say “privacy”. He looked at the
menu briefly. Not seeing his typical nutri-goop he considered an
alternative.
“I will have the lentil stew with root vegetables and coconut milk over
quinoa,” he ordered.
“I will have exactly what the Lieutenant is having.” Delexa said. She
wanted to have the same tasting experience as the Lieutenant as she had no
idea what she would actually like.
Once the server was gone he refocused, “Ask your question.”
“Do you find life in the Federation fulfilling?” She asked.
Cal sat back, “Define fulfilling. It has been different than life on the
Brikar Homeworld. But I had a different calling than my parents desired.”
She thought for a moment. “Are you satisfied ? More so than you would have
been had you remained on your homeworld?”
“If I had remained on the homeworld I would have felt obligated to follow
in his footsteps in the leadership of the Brikarian military. When I was
introduced to Starfleet I saw a life of exploration instead of one of
destruction. Our oaths… became different. Satisfied?” He shrugged. “I
believe I am on a better path. Perhaps, one day, I will feel satisfaction.
However, if I had stayed I know that I would never feel that. Something
would always be missing. “
“I just wanted to ask the most apparent outsider other than myself. I had
the thought that your experience would somehow provide me with a certain
level of enlightenment as to what lies ahead for me.” Delexa explained. “If
I have overstepped my place with my inquiry please tell me, Lieutenant.”
“Overstepped? I do not believe so,” Dogan said. “Nobody has ever asked me
that question before and I have never brought the subject up. It has caused
a … rift in my family. However there are others to take my place there.
Here, I have a place of my own. Such self realizations are never out of
place.”
He paused for a moment and added, “I hope I have helped you with your own
dilemma.”
Delexa smiled and nodded her head. “S’ei tr’velh nath tr’ra t’khia. Ei
ch’rhei velh dosi iha s’khre, velh tr’ra nath iha.” She said in very
precise High Rihannsu, a Romulan dialect.
Cal’s eyes narrowed as he tried to hear the words Delaxa spoke.
“It's an old proverb,” she said. “The path you carve yourself is often the
one fate intended. If another can take your place, then it was never truly
yours.” She explained. “It appears you have flourished thus far,
Lieutenant.”
“Indeed,” the Brikarian replied. “I am not so fatalistic. I believe we
create our own path. However, I understand your sentiment.”
Their food arrived at their table before she could respond. “Thank you for
your service, and to the ones who prepared this provision.” She said to the
server.
Dogan nodded as his food was placed in front of him.
“If there is anything you need, just ask. Please access the drink menu on
the table top; the built-in replicator will provide the desired beverage.”
The server said then left their table to proceed to another.
Delexa looked at the food in front of her. “I suppose there isn't a correct
way to eat this is there?” She asked rhetorically with a chuckle then
looked at Dogan. “Since it's all thrown together.”
Delexa opened the drink menu on the table and selected a drink, a green
tea. She had sampled various drinks on the USS Princeton and found herself
being quite fond of green tea. The tea appeared in front of her.
Cal opted for no drink. It was not necessary since the meal had enough
liquid in it. However, he was aware that other beings need to to consume
liquid with a meal.
“In case the conversation diverts too far from the intended goal of this
meeting I have a copy of my service record from the Republic Fleet. Its
accuracy can be verified with the Federation office of joint operations. I
have also granted you access to the database on New Romulus to have access
to my complete biographical profile, of course anything deemed mission
sensitive will be redacted.” Delexa said and took a drink of her green tea.
Cal smiled, “That is very gracious of you. I can verify the information
that I have already compiled from my sources. I am curious, though.” He
paused to pick up the bowl of steaming stew and poured a portion of it into
his mouth. “You are directly related to Praetor Nerel, are you not? How is
that you have received a junior station assignment rather than something
more… diplomatically inclined?”
“Praetor Nerel, who I never met was the one time leader of the Star Empire
who died many years before I was born, he like many before him was removed
from power by his successor, Hiren who was removed by his successor Shinzon
of Remus. Betrayal was an all too common theme in the Star Empire.” She
said with a pause and straightened her posture. “ But to answer your
question, our stations are earned, Lieutenant. Legacy is not inherited, it
is proven through service.”
“An excellent policy,” Dogan replied. “Sadly, one not shared by many
races.”
“You strike me as the sort of person to place duty above all.” Delexa
remarked then took a spoonful of the stew.
“A Brikarian is honor bound to perform the duties of their station,” Cal
explained. “To not do so is to forfeit one’s life. I am bound to the Hades
and to Captain Merek and will defend both to my death. If that is what you
mean.”
Delexa nodded her head. “I know those aren't just words, I can tell you
mean it and that makes me feel a lot safer. It's very reminiscent of the
oath we take when joining the Fleet. Duty before self, service before
ambition.”
Cal shrugged at the similarities, “Perhaps I was a bit rash to judge you,
Centurion. Clearly we have much in common. It will be… interesting to
serve with you.”
“I'm glad that we have a better understanding of each other. I'm sure it
will make shadowing you tomorrow enjoyable. Head of security is a position
of immense importance. It will be an honour to serve with you Lieutenant
Dogan.”
Cal drained the last of his stew and nodded, “Then I shall endeavor to be
worthy of your honor, Centurion. Tomorrow is another day.”

HADESRPG: (4-1423) Marine 1st Lieutenant Stom
From: emarderok2 at gmail.com (Wayne Fromm)
Date: Wed, 4 Mar 2026 19:51:05 -0500
Mission: Homecoming
Day: 4
Stardate: 2446.10.19
(USS Cerberus, Command Console - Marine 1st Lieutenant Stom- 1423)
Stom sat ready in his EVO armor, he would have preferred the 7300 series he
was used to but knew that this armor offered better protection against
direct physical impacts with its built in physical dampening systems, that
absorbed hits to a greater degree.
"Final checks before departure." Masters called out. "Count off with
readiness status by squad."
"First squad, ready."
"Second squad, ready."
“ Third squad, ready.” Stom said and gave a brief look at the rest of his
team.
"Weapons squad, ready."
"Hey Doc, you ready?" Masters asked the doctor.
“Trays are in the upright position and magazines have been stowed away.
Drinks will be served once we’re in normal flight.”
"Buckle up ladies, gentlemen and all non-binary beings." Masters announced
before settling back down in the pilot's seat.
=^= USS Cheron and USS Cerberus, this is the Captain, are you ready for
departure? =^=
"This is USS Cerberus, ready for departure." Masters said. He watched as
the Tartarus doors opened revealing a star field, and other cosmic sights.
=^= Permission granted for departure.=^= Came the Captain's voice, =^= Go
get'em Cerberus.=^=
"Lifting off now." Masters announced into the passenger compartment and
into the flight recorder.
Stom noticed a Private looking who was sitting near him looking nervous.
“ Remember your training, Private Mendez.” Stom said as he looked at him. “
Not only for yourself but for the rest of your team. You be right for them
and they'll be right for you.”
“ Yes Sir.” Private Eduardo Mendez said.
“ I've never done an exercise like this , Sir.”
Stom grinned, his teeth weren't pointed like most Ferengi,no. His teeth
were oddly human in appearance. Stom having been raised among humans once
for the better part of his life wasn't very Ferengi in his mannerisms,
posture and overall demeanor.
“ Then you're in for one hell of a time, Private.”
"Masters to OPS, launch the training package to the following coordinates."
=^= Acknowledged firing probe set now.=^=
The Hades fired a series of probes from the aft launcher that would
assemble their training area.
"Executing micro warp jump in three.... two... one.." Masters announced.
The Cerberus streaked off to its destination.
Stom winced a bit as the high pitched energy frequency emitted from the
warp systems. The others were immune to it but for his Ferengi ears it was
as if a Gorn had been body slammed into a bulkhead.
“Is it a bad time to question whether it was a good idea or not to do
this?” The Doctor asked. “only…I sort of made a lot of promises I wouldn’t
be doing this again.” She grinned.
Stom looked towards where she was sitting away from him. “ Looks like
you're breaking those promises now Doctor.”
“Oh…my mother is going to be soooooooo pissed at me for this one.” She
replied.
Suddenly Stom and the rest of the marines felt a sudden thrashing motion of
the vessel.
The mircowarp jump had ended and they had arrived within the vicinity of
several gravitational distortions. The ship had to adjust for them.
“ Major Masters, Sir.” Stom said over his comm device.
( Reply Masters)
“ I don't think that's how a drop out of warp is supposed to feel, Sir.”
Stom said as his ears popped.
( reply Masters, Keats)

=^= Major Masters, Sir. =^=
"Send your traffic, three." Sean shot back on inboard comms.
=^= I don't think that's how a drop out of warp is supposed to feel, Sir.
=^=
That was an odd statement to be sure. "Can you be a little more specific?"
Sean asked out of reflex, but initiated a sensor sweep anyway.
(Reply Strom)
Just as the Lieutenant responded, the sensors alerted to a series of
gravitational distortions.
"Strom, Keats, report to the command area." Sean said as he brought them to
an all stop outside of the distortion area of effect.
(Reply Strom, Keats)
"Any idea what caused these?" Sean asked. "Can you imagine what that would
do to an untethered body?"
(Reply Strom, Keats)
"Either we figure out their origin enough to ensure that it will not
interfere with the path we intend to take or we neutralize the anomaly all
together, or we have to scrap the training exercise."
(Reply Strom, Keats)

HADESRPG: (4 - 1426) Lt(jg) Dr Rosalynd Keats
From: mark.howard9 at gmail.com (Mark Howard)

Mission: Homecoming
Day: 4
Stardate: 2446.10.19
(USS Cerberus, Passenger bay - Lt(jg) Dr Rosalynd Keats - 1426)
Rosalynd was always slightly on edge during warp jumps in these smaller
craft. It was illogical, she knew, but on all of the missions that she’d
been on, she’d always been more worried about meeting her maker during the
warp drop than the actual insertion and mission spec.
Moments later, she felt the unusual jar and shudder as the ship
transitioned back to normal space.
=/\=Strom, Keats, report to the command area.=/\= Master’s voice came over
the comm.
“Acknowledged Sir.” Keats answered simply, hitting the clasp that would
release her bindings. She then moved through the dropship toward were
Masters was meeting them. “Sir?” She said simply as she arrived.
"Any idea what caused these?" Sean asked. "Can you imagine what that would
do to an untethered body?"
“Not a Physicist Major, but I have seen things like this before.” She drew
a breath. “And the results can be as messy and fatal as you can imagine.”
Rosalynd said simply. “Problems?”
"Either we figure out their origin enough to ensure that it will not
interfere with the path we intend to take or we neutralize the anomaly all
together, or we have to scrap the training exercise."
(Reply Strom IYW)

Day: 4
Stardate: 2446.10.19
(USS Cerberus, Passenger bay - Marine First Lieutenant Stom -1428)
=/\=Can you be a little more specific?=/\=Masters asked.
Stom raised his wrist to his face and activated the computer mounted on the
left forearm of his EVO armor. It was tied into the ship's sensors. “ It's
like you hit a wall, Sir.”
Just as the Lieutenant responded, the sensors alerted to a series of
gravitational distortions.
=/\=Strom, Keats, report to the command area.=/\= Masters responded.
Stom stood and made his way to the command area with Dr. Keats.
"Any idea what caused these?”Masters asked. "Can you imagine what that
would do to an untethered body?"
“Not a Physicist Major, but I have seen things like this before.” She drew
a breath. “And the results can be as messy and fatal as you can imagine.”
Keats said simply. “Problems ?”
“ I'm not an Astrophysicist, but I'm sure it wouldn’t be good” Stom said as
he accessed the ship's sensors on a nearby terminal.
"Either we figure out their origin enough to ensure that it will not
interfere with the path we intend to take or we neutralize the anomaly all
together, or we have to scrap the training exercise."
Dr. Kets gave her suggestion while Stom researched the area.
“ Residual gravity pockets, caused by the movement of celestial bodies in
the area, Sir.”
Stom said and looked at Masters and Keats. “ “The USS Darlington reported
this 4 months ago.”
( Reply Master)
“ It shouldn't interfere with the exercise, now that we know they are here
we know what to look out for, Sir.” Stom said.

HADESRPG: (4 - 1430, 1450) MCO, Major Sean Masters
From: docholladay2021 at gmail.com (Todd Holladay)
Date: Wed, 18 Mar 2026 23:03:47 -0500
Mission: Homecoming
Day: 4
Stardate: 2446.10.19
(USS Cerberus, Pilot Compartment - MCO, Major Sean Masters - 1430)
There was an eerie silence from Stom. He followed his duty, in reporting a
potential problem, hell even before the sensors picked it up. That was
good. Offering a potential solution is better. Sean wasn't going to
ruminate on it now.
“Like I said, not my field, but before she drops us off, couldn’t the Hades
swing about point six and drop a subspace charge? It’d clear the path just
as we hit the launch tubes surely?”
The entire time the sensors of the Cerberus were tracking the anomaly. The
sensors were more designed for combat though, not as sophisticated as a
runabout or even a shuttle.
"Hate to break the immersion and operational subspace silence for a minor
class I anomaly..." Sean admitted. "I hate dead Marines and cancelled
training operations more."
Just as he was about to put the button to hail the Hades, the console
indicated the onboard science algorithm had finished the analysis.
"Wait a sec..." Sean said, holding up a gloved hand. "Looks like we have
movement."
(Reply any)
"The computer says that the anomalies are most likely moving towards an
unknown gravitational or subspace point outside of our nominal sensor
range. Eighty-seven point three-five percent probability." Sean was no
scientist either, so he read off what the computer's analysis was nearly
verbatim.
(Reply any)
Being a Starfleet brat, knowing full well Starfleet would want someone to
come back and look at it later, someone better equipped. "I'm going to drop
a buoy so that Hades can come take a look, maybe they'll have the sensor
range to determine where this thing is going."
(Reply any)
"Oh, yeah." Sean said with a smile. "We will replot our approach vector
keeping the course of the gravity thing in mind. Shouldn't delay more than
twenty minutes."
(Reply any)
(USS Cerberus, Pilot Compartment - MCO, Major Sean Masters - 1450)
"Arrival at SP time, now." Sean spoke into the flight recorder. "Attention
on deck."
(Reply Cerberus Passengers)
Sean flipped the rear compartment lighting from white to green. "We're in
position. Final checks."
(Reply Stom)
"Order of march Three, four, one, two followed by command and auxiliary.
That's us Doc." Sean said clearly.
(Reply Keats)
"Movement will be squad wedge, echelon toward the likely contact side which
is the left side." Sean knew that particular detail had changed with the
reploting of their attack vector away from the gravitational anomaly. So he
took the time to explain it so everything ran smoothly. "Platoon formation
is staggered column pairs on the left and right side of command. From above
we will look like a big letter 'H'. Each side will move forward using
bounding overwatch. One squad sets and covers the other's movements, then
sets and covers the squad who had just covered their movement so that we
can get maximum accuracy and our movement is always covered. Anyone makes
contact with the enemy during movement, will find cover and lay down
suppressive fire. The opposite element will move to flank the objective. It
should start looking familiar to you knuckleheads after that."
(Reply any)
"Doc, you will stick with myself and the Gunny, if we take any injured they
will move that Marine back or they will self extract to a place behind
cover if possible so that you and myself or Gunny will move up to the
patient and you'll, well you'll do your stuff."
(Reply Keats)
"Any other questions?" Sean asked.
(Reply if any)
"Helmets on. Jumping in five." Sean said.

"Helm, bring us about one hundred eightydegrees mark zero, have our aft facing the belt then take us to a fullstop."
(Reply Ire)
"Aye Captain."
"USS Cerberus, this is the Captain, are you ready for departure?"
Ire quickly scanned the ships quick ready status tomake sure that nothing would interfere with the its function as the captain wasdealing with the Cerberus.
"Open the doors for them."
Merek nodded to him.
“Yes Captian.”
He accessed his armrest console and gate the shuttlebay officer permission for the Cerberus to depart.
“The Cerberus can depart at their convenience Captain.”
"Ops, viewscreen angle aft, let's see them off." Keira said theanticipation mounting.
He watched the viewscreen then showed a downward angle of the aft portion ofthe ship. The upper two of her four nacelles cast a bluish glow.
(Reply Cerberus)
"Permission granted for departure."
Merek said.
"Goget'em Cerberus."
Ire watched as the Marine dropship exited the craftgracefully.
=^= Masters to OPS, launch the training package tothe following coordinates. =^=
"Acknowledged firing probe set now."
Ire watched as a full volley from the aft launcherstreaked out of sight. Followed by the Cerberus disappearing from view.

(USS Hades - Deck 1 - Bridge - CSEC - Lt. Cal Dogan- 1449)
As Merek began to leave the bridge with their new guest in tow Dogan
stepped towards them. Although their conversation the previous night left
him more at ease, tha manner in which she’d been introduced still left him
with a… feeling.
“Captain,” he tried ti make his voice softer, “may I accompany you?”
"Absolutely," the Captain replied. .
He waited for the others to enter as he tapped the button on his belt that
alerted the turbo lift computer of his impending mass. It was a small
routine that he’d worked out so the power relays wouldn’t be suddenly
overwhelmed.
Once inside his massive frame blocked the doorway. He turned so that Merek
and Delaxa were looking at his back. If that didn’t imply trust nothing
else would.
"Main Engineering." Keira ordered and the doors closed.
(USS Hades - Main Engineering - CO, Captain Keira Merek - 1452)
Dogan stepped off the lift and to the side, allowing the captain and the
centurion to pass ahead of him.
His only interest in the conversation with the CEO was the timeline for
being prepared. 1530 hours gave them a little over half an hour.
“How do your preparations affect security systems? Cal asked. “Do we need
to do anything?”

=/\=Arrival at SP time, now.=/\= Sean spoke into the flight recorder.
=/\=Attention on deck.=/\=
Keats pulled herself together, she realised that she’d allowed her mind to
wander as she’d sat in the passenger cabin of the dropship.
Sean flipped the rear compartment lighting from white to green. =/\=We're

Rosalynd let her mind wander again as Masters spoke to Strom, then cursed
her woolgathering as attention was turned to her.
=/\=Order of march Three, four, one, two followed by command and auxiliary.
That's us Doc.=/\= Masters said clearly.
“Understood. What do you have in mind for deployment? Anything that I
should know?”
"Movement will be squad wedge, echelon toward the likely contact side which

reploting of their attack vector away from the gravitational anomaly. So he
took the time to explain it so everything ran smoothly. "Platoon formation

“Where do you want me Major?” Rosalynd asked, she knew that different
Officers had different ideas about where they thought a Corpsman should be
deployed.
"Doc, you will stick with myself and the Gunny, if we take any injured they
will move that Marine back or they will self extract to a place behind

“Understood Sir.”
"Any other questions?" The Major asked, Keats herself didn’t have any.
"Helmets on. Jumping in five." Masters’ voice came through the Comm seconds
later.
Rosalynd lifted her helmet from the locker under her legs and slipped it
on, fastening it with practised ease. It had been a long while since she’d
last worn one of these, the last time had nearly killed her. She took the
time to check the rest of her suit, the readouts giving her all the
information about suit integrity, air quality and even sidearm ammunition.
“Locked and Loaded. Keats good to go.”

Mission: Homecoming
Day: 4
Stardate: 2446.10.19
(USS Hades - Deck 5 - Saucer Main Engineering - Chief Engineering Officer - Lt Adnora Alouron - 1452)
Adnora reached passed the EPS conduits and tapped the diagnostic sensor to the joint. Readings nominal. She smiled to herself in satisfaction, even though no one could see her and crawled out of the tight Jeffrey’s tube.
She couldn’t be anymore proud of this ship if she had built it herself, and after all of her due diligence, she absolutely could.
It was sad, to becoming to an end. Soon all of these people would hate her.
When she turned she saw three teams walking toward her with a fervor in their eyes. They’d learned quickly to present the summary lists then be asked questions.
She took the pads one by one and nodded.
“Excellent work! I’m proud. I’ll let you know when I know. After the test shift, drinks on me.”
The crew laughed and congratulated each other as they went on their ways. She turned on her heel and faced the nearest console, entered her access code and forwarded the reports to the captain, whose engineering skills would make her well aware of everything they were seeing down here.
“Lieutenant Alouron, how come the preparations?" Keira’s voice suddenly came to close and she don’t notice her presence.
The Orion jumped then grabbed the console.
“Captain, you surprised me sorry.” Adnora took a deep breath. “We are prepared. I have triple redundant teams at co soles and on every area they can physically be.”
"I was looking to get going on schedule, does fifteen-thirty work?" Keira asked. Her smile was replaced with the look of all seriousness. She was giving the answer she expected, even though it was framed as a question.
Adnora with the look of pride only an engineer or a designer could have grabbed an engineering smock. “I can just say yes, or you can come see and get your hands a little dirty. You miss it…… don’t you?” She asked watching the Captain’s face.

Maybe a bit later." Keira answered finally, but Alouron thought she saw that glint in her eye. That desire to reach out for the smock and jump into the rabbit hole of the marvels of the engineering world.
"Right now my job's on the bridge, writing policy for future coaxial drives and Underworld class ships in particular."
Alouron nodded and pulled a skin sealing computer interface from near her ear. “I use this to narrate my reports and my papers as I work. Then it’s just editing and revising later. Helps me be in both zones at once. But I get it. A captain has to do what a captain has to do.”
"Burdens of being the first." Keira nodded. "We figure out what works by blazing a path for others to follow."
Alouron nodded. ~But where is the joy if passion isn’t happening at the same time. I wish I could stay,~ she lamented to herself.

“That works for me. My alpha and gamma shifts know they are on call and already programmed if I declare engineering alert. The computer will call them all. Otherwise out of the way is better.”
"Good point. I'll take that into consideration." Keira said. "For right now, yellow alert should be sufficient." Keira decided.
Alouron nodded stowing the smock and looking at the Brikar. “Do you want to take a walk and go over things with me Lieutenant. Make sure we are up to your needs?”

Stardate: 2446.10.19
(USS Cerberus, Passenger Compartment - MCO, Major Sean Masters - 1455)
Sean checked with his wrist tricorder. Everyone had their helmets on. He
then triggered the ship to auto pilot and thrusters at station keeping.
=^= Computer evacuate atmosphere to storage, place lifesupport to zero. =^=
Sean commanded. =^= Magnets on Marines. Line up for egress.=^=
(reply Passenger Compartment)
Sean placed the lights from green to red. He watched the pressure drop on

[Atmosphere evacuated, lifesupport at zero.] The computer announced over
internal comms.

=^= Three and Four, positions. =^= Sean issued the preparatory command as
he signaled for the rear gangway and main egress to lower.
(Reply Stom)
Sean watched the gangway lower, opening into the emptiness of outer space.
He also kept an eye on the Marines as they lined up, and exited. Ensuring
none falter or collapse.
He tapped Dr Keats on the shoulder, and initiated a private comm channel.
=^= Doc, if anyone is going to pass out from nerves, experience tells me
this is the time. Medication port is the same place it's been for forty
years. =^=
He knew she likely knew all this both from her days as a Marine herself,
and her medical background. Sean always found it's better to say the thing
that's known so that everyone is 'on the same page' than not and letting
something important sneak through the cracks.

Soon the First two squads had jumped out into the void without issue. =^=
Two and one, positions. =^=
Now that there was room, Sean and "Top" made their way to the very back of
the line.
(Reply Keats)
In front of them, the first two squads were out making their way to the
first waypoint. Stretched out and evenly spaced thrusters of their suits
rocketing them forward. The remaining full squads soon joined them.
=^= Lead the way Top, we'll be right behind you.=^= Sean said.
The senior enlisted man nodded and grinned. He started off in a dead
sprint, as much as the suit and the magnetic boots would allow him on the
deck. As he neared the end of the ramp he disengaged the magnetic actuators
on his boots and pushed off with a roll, a flourish and a generous dose of
thrusters.
=^= Right behind you, doc. =^=
(Reply Keats)
Sean himself exited five meters behind the good doctor. Similar to the
First Sergeant he executed a roll on the exit after disengaging his magnets
he gave a long burst of thruster juice to close the distance.

" It's made of our shit, you know. That's the base material that we use in
our replicators. We deconstruct it to the atomic level and then reform the
atoms. [takes a bite] It's pretty good for shit. And we don't have to
commit atrocities for it." - Admiral Charles Vance
