Hello all, Well, our first compile in some time! I've developed some web scripts to make the proccess less painful for the compiler. I hope you find this useful. All the posts are placed in time order, for the past week. So, they read more like a story than a collection of posts you get over the week. Anthony == Stardate:2405.09.03 (No-time. Ralth Ra'Kir) Ralth opened his eyes to see only milky whiteness all around him. A sort of floating nothingness, there was no horizon. Yet he wasn't standing on anything nor falling. He was, he noted, still in his starfleet uniform, standing on no-ground. It was warm and pleasant, and he could smell the savanna in the gentle breeze washing across him. It smelled like... Home. ~Am I dead now? Is this the last hunting ground?~ he thought with some... Puzzlement. He wasn't afraid to die, not really, and certainly not after it had happened. A voice called from behind him, in his native caitian. "Not yet, my child." Its tone was amused and pleasing to hear, like little bells ringing. Ralth turned to see a most beautiful female caitian, her fur silky, perfect black, cladded in a white dayrobe and a simple, grass-twined collar. He didn't need to consider her identity more then a fleeting part of a second. "Dannara. My goddess." he said, bowing. The female just nodded, smiling gently. "You've come a long way, Ralth." she said, then stood silent. "What happened? If I didn't die, where am I? Am I wounded?" The goddess shook her head. "I took you from amongst the others. They are safe, too. Time has died." Ralth stood silently for a moment, then nodded. "I see... And was everything destryed? Did the universe collapse?" The goddess shook her head. "We couldn't allow that, so we took you away." "And what is to happen to us?" Ralth asked as the thought came to his mind, knowing the goddess saw it as it appeared. "You have a different path, Ralth. There is another universe where you are all needed, one that is close to straying from its path and into destruction. You will set things right." Ralth thought for a moment, then nodded. "Very well. You know my friends will consider this just a coinsidence?" The goddess laughed gently. "Only coinsidences in all the universes are those created by sentient minds, Ralth. And thus, are they really coinsidences?" "Is all this a great joke then?" The question formed in his mind, so he had to speak it, lest he offend her. She shook her head, yet smiling. "Ralth, my dear child, existance is too great a thing to be met with seriousness. If you laugh at it a bit, you'll see that all the infinite possibilities are just so many ways to tell the grandest tale of all. Now come, embrace me and go to your friends." Ralth to her and embraced her, feeling great comfort and warmth surround him, and then he stood in the blackness, and the door opened in front of him. He carefully took on an impression of bewildernment and walked through it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.03 (Somewhere over the rainbow - TAC/SC Ensign (Captain?) Pierce Orde - nowhen) "I have a question," she said suddenly. Everyone turned to look and she hitched at the dress again subconsciously. "We can't stay here for ever, so how *do* we find a way out? I mean, you just said we can't go home, because home no longer exists, if I understood you correctly. So where *can* we go? And if we can't go anywhere, what are we to do?" Pierce glanced over Eleni, who was decidedly out of uniform. Feeling lousy about what he put her through earlier, he took off his uniform jacket and handed it to her. "Here, counselor. My way of apology for giving you a headache earlier." He shifted slightly to address the group. "Okay, according to Mr. Bellephoron here, outside of this room, the boundaries between our old universe and all the others were shattered when the antitime hit. So, technically, home doesn't exist anymore. We can't go home. Now, I know we've all heard stories about temporally displaced crews, and now we're one of them. The way out of this room is simple: walk beyond the door. That's it." Pierce glanced down at his uniform, then saw a new face in the group: Morag MacRath. He brightened. "I don't know what the rest of you went through, but I'll tell you what happened to me. I found myself on a starship, wearing this uniform. I was in a battle. As I left the bridge, I found myself with my daughter, who was pestering me to get her mother's birthday present. I left that to come here. To the rest of the universes, we don't exist: we're an anomaly. I believe that makes this crew special. I do not know what lay beyond the door; I know, however, this: wherever and whenever I go, I will be the unanticipated element. I will make a difference." Pierce cleared his throat, and continued. "By now, the multiverse has probably reorganized itself so that it's boundaries have reestablished. When we go, we will be in another universe, perhaps later or before our time - an alien place. Alternate versions of ourselves may or may not exist. Anything we do is a risk; that's the nature of our jobs. I, for one, am willing to take that risk. Any other questions?" (Reply any) Pierce nodded to the rest. He walked slowly up to the door and stood before it. "Here we go..." he breathed as he stepped through the open door, not knowing what lay beyond...... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.03 USS Firebrande, no-time-zone - Lt Cmdr Richard 'Rick' Blaine, 3.20.26.004) Some other crew members were entering the room, Rick was listening at the TSO' s explanation but he wasn't understanding much of it, his physics cursus on the academy were far away and in the past ten years he didn't had much occasion to review them. He was still busy trying to understand what had happened. He remembered that he had been asked to handle the Mess Hall the bar on the USS Firebrande when he had found himself in a Security officer uniform on an unknow ship and now he was in some sort of conference room listening to understandable theories. Suddenly, the counsellor who had also appeared in some sort of unusual wearing, opened her mouth. "I have a question, We can't stay here for ever, so how *do* we find a way out? I mean, you just said we can't go home, because home no longer exists, if I understood you correctly. So where *can* we go? And if we can't go anywhere, what are we to do?" The CONN officer spoke up too "Excuse me, all, but wherre's the captain? And admiral Jopek? Shouldn't they be herre too?" (Reply any) Rick took the floor to add " If you don't mind I would like to ask something either, you are all senior officers but I'm only a civilian, why have I been brought here too and in this uniform ? It reminds me a past I had almost forgotten." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.03 (USS Firebrande, no-time-zone - CONN Ensign Ralth Ra'Kir, 3.20.26.004) Ralth stepped into the room and just walked unobtrusively to one side, listening with half interest at the TSOs rambling explanation. He felt he understood the theorem, but it didn't particularily interest him. His mind was busy trying to remember what had happened. He had sat at the helm station, and then... Darkness, and a door he just stepped through in here. Wasn't there something else? He had a nagging feeling it was important, but all he could remember was a moment of brightness and comfort, and even that memory was quickly fading. Suddenly, the counsellor opened her mouth. "I have a question," Ralth glanced at her and noticed she'd lost her uniform somewhere, and almost smiled. "We can't stay here for ever, so how *do* we find a way out? I mean, you just said we can't go home, because home no longer exists, if I understood you correctly. So where *can* we go? And if we can't go anywhere, what are we to do?" Ralth glanced around, counting heads, trying to spot senior officers. "Excuse me, all, but wherre's the captain? And admiral Jopek? Shouldn't they be herre too?" (Reply any) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.03 (USS Nimitz, Bridge, Nimitz CO, Captain Susan Rivers, 2255) "Rivers to Engineering. I want a definite timescale for full restoration of power ASAP!" To Susan's astonishment, Zach's voice came through the commlink. To be truthful, it was not the fact that Zach replied rather than one of the engineers, but *what* he replied that took her breath away. =/\= ...and when this is over you misbegotten and unholy mix of pagh with questionable lineage extending both into Tellarite and Andorian bloodlines, I'm going to drop kick yer ugly a*** into a temporal anomaly, say.. Into next week! =/\= There was some kind of beep, then Zach continued in a pleasant tone, =/\= Working on it presently Captain, things are just fine down here. Give me ten. =/\= "Thank you so much, Mr Falthgood," Susan said icily. "Although I can assure you any a***-kicking will be done by me, not you, and if you wish to question my lineage I suggest you get it right in the first place!" (reply Zack iyw) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.03 (USS Nimitz, Bridge, CO, Captain Susan Rivers, 2240) Susan frowned. "How can you have a zone of nothing?" she asked. Onyx, thinking out loud said. "It seems that there's a brain behind. Could it be possible that there is an intelligence behind. That we have rouse someone or something's curiosity." Susan thought about this. The possibility that they could have aroused the 'curiosity' of a race that could cross dimensions with ease sent a cold shiver up her spine. "Anything is possible," she said slowly. "Number One, what do you think?" (Reply Sevant) "Lt Nakamura? What is your opinion?" (Reply Nishi) "Continue analysing the probe's data relays," she said eventually. It wasn't much, but it was the only thing they had to go on for the moment. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.03 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - Lt Cmdr Sevant - 2240) "How can you have a zone of nothing?" Sevant grabbed hold of his chair by reflex, as an officer he had never seen before said, "It seems that there's a brain behind. Could it be possible that there is an intelligence behind. That we have rouse someone or something's curiosity." He frowned, and the Captain said "Anything is possible, Number One, what do you think?" "I don't like being the object of someone's curiosity." he said, darkly. "And I don't think I like being very close to this situation." "Lt Nakamura? What is your opinion?" (Reply Nishi) "Continue analyzing the probe's data relays," she said after some thinking. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.03 (USS Nimitz, Bridge, CO, Captain Susan Rivers, 2252) Engineering had reported that they could supply manoevring power to thrusters only, to get them out of the way of the approaching anomaly. "Mr Kateb! Will that give you enough to move us out of the way?" Susan asked. "Maybe to get out of the zone if we go right now, because there's a limit to those space anomalies. They seem to loose cohesion after a certain distance. But after, I don't know." Susan gave a decisive nod. "Make it so, Mr Kateb. Move us out of the way but try to keep the Ptolemy in sight." She opened a commlink to Engineering. "Rivers to Engineering. I want a definite timescale for full restoration of power ASAP!" (reply any in Engineering) Susan sat in her chair, watching Kateb manoevre them out of the way of the anomaly's course. Silently, they watched it move over the Ptolemy, then it stopped. It remained motionless, enveloping the Ptolemy, but nothing seemed to happen. ~Perhaps Onyx is right, maybe there *is* some kind of intelligence controlling what's going on around here~ The thought brought no comfort to Susan. Rather the reverse. Suddenly the dice seemed to be loaded against them. She recalled Lt Falthgood's comment about ghost ships, and wondered uneasily if that was after all to be their fate. Frustrated by enforced inaction, she unconsciously tapped her fingers on the arm of her chair, stopping only when she caught Sevant's eye on her. Resisting the urge to snap an enquiry as to what he found so fascinating in her behaviour, and also the urge to go to Engineering herself and see what was going on, she contented herself with making sure her console kept her supplied with the up-to-date data from the probe. Waiting was what she hated most. Waiting, and enforced inactivity. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.03 (USS Nimitz, Bridge, CO, Captain Susan Rivers, 23:43) The stream of data from the probe ceased abruptly. The probe itself disappeared from the scanners. On the viewscreen, the Ptolemy began to flicker in and out of view again, and each time it disappeared for a slightly longer time. Then it vanished completely. They waited. Five... ten... twenty seconds... half a minute...one minute... Then a bright magenta flash filled the viewscreen, so bright that Susan instinctively closed her eyes. Forcing them open again, she saw the light fading. Blinking to adjust her eyes again, she thought she saw the Ptolemy back again. Then she looked harder at the viewscreen, rubbed her eyes and looked again. Where the Ptolemy had been, there were now FIVE ships. Not one of which was the Ptolemy. Susan rose to her feet. "What the... Mr Nakamura!! WHO OR WHAT ARE THOSE SHIPS?" What they *appeared* to be were Starfleet vessels, but what a collection. One Galaxy-class, one Ghost-class, which looked disturbingly familiar to Susan, one Prometheus class which gave her the same uncomfortable feeling, a Titan-class (Susan could hardly believe her eyes, the Titans had been decomissioned a while ago now) and the last one was unknown, although it had similar lines to the Nimitz it was not what Susan recognised as a Sovereign. (reply Nishi) "Open hailing frequencies to all vessels." "Hailing frequencies open, Sir!" "This is Captain Susan Rivers of the Federation Starship USS Nimitz -" she began. Then stopped as a face - a well-known face - appeared on the viewscreen from the Galaxy-class which had identified itself as the USS Firebrande. =/\=Susan?=/\= ~REMAE KTELL?? But that's IMPOSSIBLE! He was awaiting court-martial on Earth, how the heck...~ She opened her mouth to ask for an explanation but the words remained unsaid. Before either of them could speak, the bright light was back, bigger and brighter than before. << HEAR US, WE ARE THE KALMOROSE. FOR THE LAST TIME, YOUR INTER-DIMENTIONAL ACTIVIES HAVE INTERFERED WITH OUR EXISTANCE. YOU ARE GOING TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR ACTIONS >> And then before anyone could say or do anything, the Titan-class vessel vanished. Where it had been there was simply an empty area of space. Then the bright light vanished as abrubptly, as did the sound of the Kalmorose, although the words they had spoken echoed uncomfortably in Susan's mind. "RED ALERT! All hands to duty stations! Full report from all decks and stations!" she called into the commlink. (reply all) ~Who knows where these Kalmorose might be or what they intend?~ Whatever it was, she had a pretty good idea it wasn't good news for the Nimitz. Perhaps even for the Federation. =/\=Captain Rivers, I think we need to talk. Can you and your First Officer beam over? I will get the senior officers from the other ship to do the same.=/\= "I agree," Susan said. "We'll beam over as soon as possible." She turned to Sevant. "Number One, you're with me as Captain Remae suggested. Lt Nakamura, you are in command in our absence. If you do not hear from me in one hour, or if anything happens to the Firebrande, you are to take the Nimitz out of here at best speed, placing warning buoys as you go. You are also in that event to make a full report of all events to Starfleet Headquarters. I cannot stress the importance of the information getting through strongly enough." (Reply Nishi) Susan nodded grimly. "Whatever happened to that Titan, I'm betting it wasn't good." she said. (Reply any) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.03 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - Lt Cmdr Sevant - 23:43) Sevant covered his eyes suddenly, and reflexively closed his eyes. After a few moments he turned his eyes back to the screen, and narrowed his eyes quickly. "What the... Mr. Nakamura!! WHO OR WHAT ARE THOSE SHIPS?" Sevant looked at them closely. They were all something like he had seen before, almost. His eyes darted to his screen as Nakamura did a scan. All of them were, odd. (reply Nishi) "Open hailing frequencies to all vessels." "Hailing frequencies open, Sir!" "This is Captain Susan Rivers of the Federation Starship USS Nimitz -" Sevant watched as the screen appeared, then let out a breath. He knew this person, albeit through rumor and old reports. =/\=Susan?=/\= He stood up and walked behind the Operations officer, and placed his hand on the back of the chair as another light filled the screen. << HEAR US, WE ARE THE KALMOROSE. FOR THE LAST TIME, YOUR INTER-DIMENSIONAL ACTIVIES HAVE INTERFERED WITH OUR EXISTENCE. YOU ARE GOING TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR ACTIONS >> A moment later, there was a flash of light and the Titan class ship was no more. Sevant barred his teeth and the Captain called for red alert. "RED ALERT! All hands to duty stations! Full report from all decks and stations!" Sevant rushed back to his chair, and sat down in a quick maneuver. He flipped his screen and watched the status of the ship. "We are in no position to fight, Captain." he said after a moment, very quietly. (reply if desired) =/\=Captain Rivers, I think we need to talk. Can you and your First Officer beam over? I will get the senior officers from the other ship to do the same.=/\= "I agree," Susan said. "We'll beam over as soon as possible." "Number One, you're with me as Captain Remae suggested. I cannot stress the importance of the information getting through strongly enough." (Reply Nishi) Sevant grabbed two phasers from under his chair, and stood. "Whatever happened to that Titan, I'm betting it wasn't good." she said. ~That was an understatement.~ He tossed the second phaser to his captain, by reflex, and followed her through the doors to the transporter room. (reply any if desired) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.03 (USS Lion B - Strategic Operations Center - Lee/Rulestaad - 23.45) Rich shook his head, but he was beat to the Master situation map by the half Vulcan, Jenna Rulestaad. "Status of the fleet!" she bellowed into the room, giving a point of reference to everyone who was groggy. A couple didn't wake up, they just stared off into space. Rich slapped himself, and FORCED his eyes to focus forward. If they had experienced anything like he had, he didn't blame them a d*mn bit. "Get me the Lion, and a status.", "The Lion is operational, mostly. But none of the bridge officers are responding. We are being hailed by the Firebrande, and by... Well, her transponder calls her the USS Nimitz, Sovereign Class" said the operational officer of Stratops. Lee stood, and made his way to the screen. "There is no Sovereign in the fleet named Nimitz." he growled. He looked at the master situation map, and tried very hard to keep his jaw from dropping. They were *somewhere*, transponder beacons were giving them a Stardate that was impossible, the Dominion had disappeared and so had most of their Battle Group. ~WHAT THE HELL ??~ He pushed a few buttons when he noticed the Firebrande respond, and brought himself into the conversation. But before he could make his presence known, a LOUD voice said, << HEAR US, WE ARE THE KALMOROSE. FOR THE LAST TIME, YOUR INTER-DIMENSIONAL ACTIVIES HAVE INTERFERED WITH OUR EXISTENCE. YOU ARE GOING TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR ACTIONS >> His eyes glanced back at the Strategic Operations Strategic map, and he noticed one of the ships disappear. A ship he had never seen before, large with capabilities unknown. NRPG: Titan's weren't created in their time, I don't think. =^=Captain Rivers, I think we need to talk. Can you and your First Officer beam over? I will get the senior officers from the other ship to do the same.=^= Rich crossed his arms, as 'Captain Rivers' gave her affirmative and the Firebrande put out its orders to the fleet. He looked over at Jenna, and nodded. "Looks like we have stepped through a looking glass, and I'm not sure I like that much." Jenna grunted, lost in through as she stared at the information they had managed to grab about the ships around them. For once in her life she seemed humbled. "That ship, the Nimitz, outgun's us.. Albeit not by much. Take a look at this, they have weapons capabilities we have only dreamed of." Lee tapped the screen and started looking at the other Sovereign. He frowned, "Not good." he finally said. The Lion was a fighting ship through and through, designed and altered for the Dominion war as a Battleship. If that Sovereign out there outgunned them, then that spoke of bad things, or future timelines. He tapped his badge, "Lee to Jopek and Ktell, I will be beaming over very shortly with Captain Rulestaad and some information you might like to have." (reply if desired) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.03 (USS Firebrande, Bridge - CONN Ensign Ralth Ra'Kir - 23.45) Ralth snapped open his eyes and stared at the viewscreen, displaying some of their taskforce, all with battle damage. He checked his station, finding it working, but damage report indicated that weapons and shields were offline. Suddenly, he noticed an incoming hail. It was on Starfleet frequencies, but the ident didn't mtch with any ship in the database. "Sir, we'rre being hailed. I can't identify the ship." he said, turning to look at the captain. "Viewscreen on that ship." Ralth pressed a few buttons, centering the viewscreen on the direction and general distance the hail was originating from. The ship was definately a Starfleet vessel, so much he could say, but its configuration was totally alien to him. It looked just a bit like someone had mated a Galaxy-class engineering hull to an Intrepid-class ship, but not quite. The entire configuration was clearly designed in that form, not retrofitted onto some existing design. "We have a Captain Susan Rivers hailing us Captain." Ralth heard the Security Chief say. He listened to captain calling the channel to be opened and saw the face of a female human Starfleet captain, when suddenly a bright light flashed. << HEAR US, WE ARE THE KALMOROSE. FOR THE LAST TIME, YOUR INTER-DIMENTIONAL ACTIVIES HAVE INTERFERED WITH OUR EXISTANCE. YOU ARE GOING TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR ACTIONS >> On his screen Ralth saw an old-looking vessel blink. Then it was gone, and captain called for reports on all decks. The he reopened the channel to the Nimitz. "Captain Rivers, I think we need to talk. Can you and your First Officer beam over? I will get the senior officers from the other ship to do the same." (Reply from the present Captain Rivers) "Very well, contact all ships of the fleet, I want a report plus, all senior officers report to the Observation Lounge. Admiral Jopek, can I see you in the Ready Room?" Ralth rose immediately from his seat, moving with all others to the turbolifts. (Reply... All?) (Posted by Mikko Kari) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.03 (USS Firebrande, Ten-Forward - Richard 'Rick Blaine - 23:45) Rick was back in the Firebrande's bar, he noticed that all the people present were looking outside trought the windows, He went in their direction and looked outside too, several other ships were there, one spectre class, one prometheus class and even a large Titan class ~ If I remember correctly, the Titan class is decomissioned, what is she doing here ~ but a bright lights followed by a loud voice interrupted his toughts << HEAR US, WE ARE THE KALMOROSE. FOR THE LAST TIME, YOUR INTER-DIMENTIONAL ACTIVIES HAVE INTERFERED WITH OUR EXISTANCE. YOU ARE GOING TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR ACTIONS >> then like by magics, the large Titan class simply vanished like thin air. ~ What the hell,...wait a minute,... the Kalmorose, I've already heard of them but I can't remember where,.....think Rick, it's important.~ tought he in going back to the bar. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.03 (USS Nimitz, Bridge, Nimitz CO, Captain Susan Rivers, 2347) "RED ALERT! All hands to duty stations! Full report from all decks and stations!" "CONN is working and nothing seems to hold us here Sir!" Said Onyx quickly. "Thank you, Mr Kateb. Stand by for further orders." "Captain, I think I'd be of more use down in the Science lab to analyse what data we have!" Commander Cale said. Susan nodded. "I agree, but if you wouldn't mind waiting until we hear from the other ships? They might have some information you could use," she said. Sevant rushed back to his chair, and sat down in a quick maneuver. He flipped his screen and watched the status of the ship. "We are in no position to fight, Captain." he said after a moment, very quietly. She met his eyes and nodded. "I know," she said, just as quietly. "Let's hope we don't have to!" =/\=Captain Rivers, I think we need to talk. Can you and your First Officer beam over? I will get the senior officers from the other ship to do the same. =/\= "I agree," Susan said. "We'll beam over as soon as possible." "Number One, you're with me as Captain Remae suggested. You are also in that event to make a full report of all events to Starfleet Headquarters. I cannot stress the importance of the information getting through strongly enough." Nishi nodded, grimly. "Understood Sir, if things turn bad, we'll run." "Whatever happened to that Titan, I'm betting it wasn't good." Susan said. "Captain, if these KALMOROSE could do that," Jim pointed to the viewscreen, "to a Titan-class vessel, what hope do we have without data? I think we need to get as much empirical data as we can before we could possibly formulate a plan of action to respond to this threat. I would begin by sending probes over to the Titan's last location to see what we can generate!" "An excellent suggestion. Make it so, Mr Cale," Susan replied. "Copy the results to me on the Firebrande, if you can. Whatever data you can gather might be useful." Sevant grabbed two phasers from under his chair, and stood. He tossed one to Susan, who caught it automatically, and followed her through the doors to the transporter room. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.03 (USS Firebrande - Observation Lounge - Cmdr Richard Ian Lee - 2355) Lee looked at the information they had gathered on the fleet, then rubbed his eyes. Visions of other Richard Lee's kept popping into his mind, things he had seen while he had been everywhere and nowhere. Visions of first reporting to a CO that he had never met before on a station he had never before seen. Visions of loosing his friends during the Dominion War. Visions of being a Starfleet Marine. It had been a rather dark existence, all told. Jenna had been very quiet, reading the constantly updated PADD in her hands as if it was her last exam and life depended on it. He had never seen her so studious before, perhaps the unflappable Queen of Stratops had finally be cowed somehow. He stiffened by reflex as the doors to the doors to the lounge opened and two officers walked in. Both he had seen before, but both of these were very different. In fact, one of them was still alive as opposed to having died on a Tactical Vessel during the Dominion War. Scar and all though, there he stood with Lt Cmdr pips. Sevant took position beside the Captain, who had sat, and looked at all the people in the room with the same eyes that Lee himself had. Rich leaned forward and placed the PADD on the table, his eyes on the phasers for a moment, before he decided that he would have done the exact same thing. Everyone was jumpy, with justifiable reason. He inclined his head to them after a couple moments thought, but said nothing. A couple minutes later, Jopek and Remae walked in. "Good to see you again, Remae, if completely unexpected. This is my FO, Lt Commander Sevant. Perhaps you can explain what is going on?" Rich sat back in his chair, and waited. (reply any) (posted by trout) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.04 (USS Lion- Bridge- ADM Kevel - 0000) The USS Lion screamed through space. And came to a halt. More exactly, a halt in time. For but a moment, everything was stopped. And then, the USS Lion, NCC-7765-B, screamed into another world. And then, it was quiet. The lights flickered on the bridge as smoke wafted through the room. A shape or two moved as sparks flew from every corner of the command center. Admiral Richard Talbot Kevel pulled himself from the side near the center chair on the Sovereign class vessel. His last memory he could figure was they were fighting something. "Admiral?!" A voice drifted in from the debris and Kevel pulled himself up, feeling some faint pain in his back. He could still stand. "Report..." It choked out of him as he fell back into the command chair and took a deep breath. He got his first good look at the bridge. And it wasn't pleasant. The forward stations were without their officers, bodies lay around the room and debris was piled in areas. The emergency lights were on, but flickering. And nothing was coming from anyone else. "Warp drive offline. Weapons offline. Shields at 50 percent. Damage to the decks is scattered, but intense. Engineering reports we will lose emergency power in two hours. Navigations is offline and sensors are coming back, but only standing right now at 50 percent power. We've got several starships on sensors..." Kevel nodded and coughed. Whatever had happened, had happened quickly and had hit hard. "What ships are left?" The officer paused. "The Titan is gone, the Firebrande is still out there and several ships I do not recognize and neither does the computer. They are Federation, but nothing close to us..." Kevel nodded. "Red Alert. All hands to damage control stations. Computer, declare a emergency on board and go to emergency stations. Engineering, you have control and command over the entire crew, sans medical. Get this ship up and running in one hour and I want us able to move. Communications, get me the Firebrande and find out what the hell is going on. Helm, hold steady and pull us closer to the Firebrande. Anyone heard from sickbay?" As if on cue a rough voice cut through the bridge. "Son of piece of monkey stew! Get me six cc's of morphine on that one...you, get that man into the surgery room no matter how stuffed it is. Admiral, this is Mac here, we've got masses of injured. We need assistance. We took a hell of a beating. I'll hold for now, but we can't handle the injuries we have coming in." Kevel nodded to himself. "Roger that Mac, we got it." The channel closed and Richard sighed. "Computer, declare a medical emergency onboard, engage code 2323.33, alpha. USS Lion is declaring a medical emergency. We are heavily wounded and damaged. Requesting help from any one in the area. Lion out." With that, he turned to communications. "Get me an open channel to someone, NOW!" The young ensign nodded quickly and patched a channel, open to all frequencies. "This is Admiral Richard Kevel of the USS Lion, Starfleet Command. Requesting help and information. Out" Kevel turned to the Ops station and grimaced. "Now we wait..." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------- Stardate:2405.09.04 (USS Firebrande, Observation Lounge, Captain Remae Ktell - 0004) =^= This is Admiral Richard Kevel of the USS Lion, Starfleet Command. Requesting help and information, out. =^ Remae heard the general subspace message over the radio. "Commander Lee, get the Admiral off the air till we know what's going on, and then ask him to join us, directly." Shaking his head, he noted Susan and a few officers from the Nimitz enter the OL. "Good to see you again, Remae, if completely unexpected. This is my FO, Lt Commander Sevant. Perhaps you can explain what is going on?" "Captain, Commander. Welcome aboard." "Ma'am, may I, on behalf of the crew here, ask a question? Where and when are we?", asked 'Captain' Pierce. "Hum, I'm sorry to interrupt, I know I haven't the right to be here, to wear that uniform and those pips but I've found myself inside like the others. All I want to say is that I've already heard about those Kalmorose.", said Rick. Remae looked around at the bartender in the well fitting Starfleet uniform, had he not spoken up, the Bajoran would have missed him altogether, pausing for a moment, he raised his hands. "Okay everyone, let's sit down. See if we can work through this." Sitting down at the head of the table, pausing for breath and for other people to get drinks from the replicators, he began. "I remember being in a battle, no doubts there - a battle with the Dominion and the Romulans.", Remae looked over and noted the confused faces of the Nimitz crew. "Well, lets start at the beginning." Remae recounted the fact the he and the crew of the Firebrande were assigned to Utopia Planitia and the Firebrande was their test ship, next he recounted the tale of the rouge Dominion forces attacking key sites in both Romulan and Federation space. "So, were we sent out to see if the Romulans would take the bait, and enter the Federation space to engage the Dominion and they were but the size of the fleet that the Dominion put up surprised them and us, but we had just destroyed one of the largest ships I've seen. I am guessing that fierce exchange of fire opened up this portal." "Lieutenant Bellephoron, could you interpolate these events and suggest a theory?", asked Remae to the TSO. (Reply from Bellephoron) Once the theory had been produced, Remae continued. "After the battle, I found myself in the presence of the Prophets, for the first time in my life but I know that it wasn't the first time either. Also, I have memories that I didn't have before, but are also my own. I've never met Captain Susan Rivers, but I have and I've commanded the USS Spectre in the past, even though I know I haven't.", he said, pointing out the window at the Spectre class vessel. "Commander Lee, please scan all vessels in range, I want to know if they have crews onboard and their status.", he said, continuing the to the rest of the room. "It's as if, somehow, my memories from this reality and another past reality have been merged. Whether or not the Prophets did it or everyone is in the same boat, we'll have to see - given the different uniforms around the room, some people here could be from another reality again." "As for the Kalmorose, we've got a problem, a species we can't see, stop or effect, who made a ship the size of the Titan disappear, well, we'll need to find out all we can about it." "Captain Rivers, what can you tell us about this timeline and where we are?" (Reply from Rivers) After Susan had brought them upto date on current events, Remae turned around to the First Officer and Admiral Jopek. "Commander Lee, contact Starfleet Command, secure channel and request instructions and also, a full roster of Utopia Planitia, I want to see what's happening over there." "Okay, everyone else, I want to hear from each of you, what can you remember? I have a roster here of the Firebrande, so each of you can see what jobs you are suppose to be doing and Rick, I would be most eager to hear all you know about the Kalmorose." Remae said back in his chair and began to listen to each of the crew, each had a different tale to tell, some had memories of their past life on Utopia Planitia, some didn't, it was going to be a struggle for them to come to terms with being in the future and not being where or who they thought they were. (Reply from All at the Table) (Posted by Anthony Keen) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.04 (USS Firebrande, Observation Lounge, Nimitz CO Captain Susan Rivers, 0005) Susan and Sevant appeared together in what she assumed to be the Observation Lounge of the Firebrande. She looked around at the crewmembers gathered there, noting with surprise the somewhat unconventional clothing some of them seemed to be wearing. ~what has been going on here?~ she wondered to herself. As Remae and an Admiral who bore a surprising resemblance to Admiral Jopek arrived, Susan stepped forward to greet him. "Good to see you again, Remae, if completely unexpected. This is my FO, Lt Commander Sevant. Perhaps you can explain what is going on?" (Reply by ALL) (Posted by Liz Geuken) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.04 (USS Firebrande - Observation Lounge - Nimitz FO Lt Cmdr Sevant, 0005) Sevant stood uncomfortably in the Observation Lounge, not bothering to hide the fact that he had been studying the people as he had studied the ship on the way in. The 'Firebrande' was unconventional, and a lot of the faces were tight set as if they had been through such things before. Sitting across the table from them was an equally uncomfortable and studious version of Richard Ian Lee, this time a Commander. He was looking at everyone just like Sevant was looking, as possible threats. If he was anything like the Lee from his universe, he would have been a security officer. His eyes turned to the door as an Admiral arrived. Sevant narrowed his eyes ever so slightly, and then turned his glance to Lee. He was completely comfortable. "Good to see you again, Remae, if completely unexpected. This is my FO, Lt Commander Sevant. Perhaps you can explain what is going on?" Sevant kept his hands crossed behind him, killing the impulse to let his hand rest on his phaser. He turned around and stared at the doorway. Nothing there. ~Weird. I hope the others get through all right~ (Reply any) His commbadge chirped. =/\=All senior officers, report to the Observation deck.=/\= Pierce dashed over to the turbolift. (Reply Any) (Posted by Lenox) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.04 (USS Firebrande, Observation Lounge, Nimitz CO, Captain Susan Rivers, 0005) "Good to see you again, Remae, if completely unexpected. This is my FO, Lt Commander Sevant. Perhaps you can explain what is going on?" (reply Remae) A slight movement caught her eye and she turned her head to see what it was. The man wore command red and Commander's pips, and was the spitting image of her MXO. Susan stared for a moment. Remae and Jopek were odd enough, but Lee? She *knew * this to be a different Lee, it had to be, *her* Lee was still back on the Nimitz. His eyes were wary, if not hostile. Susan supposed hers to be the same, she certainly felt on edge. She looked more carefully around the table. A Caitian, a woman wearing someone else's jacket around her shoulders which almost hid a *very* revealing dress - with of all things a cat sitting on the table beside her, looking down its nose at the newcomers. Another captain by the look of it, with no jacket...she wondered which of the other ships he (and presumably the cat-owner) had come from. NRPG: She doesn't know Pierce is not a *real* captain ;-) RPG: Most of the people there she didn't recognise but there was one other familiar face. With astonishment she stared at his garments: bright purple silk pajamas, complete with gold stitched logo on both sleeves. ~I wonder what *he* was doing before getting called to this meeting!~ Susan nodded to him politely. "Lt Bellephoron, how nice to see you again," she lied, but managed somehow to sound sincere. She could not afford to make enemies here, not until she knew what was going on. She eased her seat back a little, unobtrusively sliding her phaser from its holster to her lap. Easier to get at that way, should she need it in a hurry. Seeing the *other* Lee had made certain what she suspected; this ship was not from their universe. Therefore no one here could be taken on trust. ~Trust? not bl**dy likely!~ (Reply by all mentioned above, Any) (Posted by Liz Geuken) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.04 (USS Firebrande, Ten-Forward - Richard 'Rick Blaine - 00:05) Rick was still searching in his memory when his commbadge chirped. =/\=All senior officers, report to the Observation deck.=/\=. " Understood Captain, on my way " he replied in reflex ~ He, wait a minute, I'm not supposed to have a commbadge ~ then he noticed that he was still wearing the Security uniform. ~ I'm just a civilian bartender so I've nothing to do there but I'm sure I could be usefull and like that I'll have informations on what has happened. I'll see if they throw me out ~ and he headed for the nearest turbolift. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.04 (USS Firebrande, Observation Lounge - Richard 'Rick' Blaine - 0008) Rick entered in the lounge and took a seat, with his uniform and his Lt.Cmdr pips he was like the other officers and they were all too busy trying to understand where they were and what has happened to notice his presence. He wasn't the only one wearing the wrong clothes, Orde was still a Captain and Bellephoron was still dressed in some sort of pyjama. He listened carefully what was said, head down, with one of his hands in front of his face, not to be seen. Then a flash came in, he was remembering where he had heard about those Kalmorose, he decided to intervene " Hum, I'm sorry to interrup, I know I haven't the right to be here, to wear that uniform and those pips but I've found myself inside like the others. All I want to say is that I've already heard about those Kalmorose. " and all the heads turned in his direction. (Reply any) (Posted by Patrick Buidin) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Stardate:2405.09.04 (USS Firebrande: Observation Lounge - Ensign Pierce Orde: 0030) Pierce recounted his story. "Security Chief Pierce Orde speaking, ma'am. Well, I'm a bit hazy on the details, but here it is: Before the temporal barriers were obliterated, I was standing on the bridge, manning Tactical, my normal station. I'm new to Utopia Planitia, by the way. Anyway, I found myself on the bridge of a starship, in the captain's chair, fighting the Borg of all things. However, I soon found myself somewhere, being pestered by this teenage girl who was asking me why I haven't gotten her mother's birthday present yet. I suppose she was supposed to be my daughter.. Anyway, after I ended up in the stasis room, I felt an odd sense of peace come over me, as if I had achieved my lifelong dream. I also now have dim memories of a USS Firestorm. Of being her captain. When we can get access to databanks, I'd like to look up what happened since we were gone." Even Eleni could sense the complete change in attitude Pierce was displaying. His eyes bore none of the pain that had been so characteristic of them. ~Captain Pierce Orde.... I like the sound of it.~ (Reply ALL, ANy) (Posted by Lenox)
