I told him to to report to you at 0600 in Main Engineering. =^= Bohb frowned, “Don’t you worry about what’s going on up here, Lieutenant Pex. With Gregory and the doctor not there you are in command of the mission. Stay focused on what you are there to do. It sounds like we may need those transporters sooner than later.” He paused for a moment not sure if he should relay this information, but he also figured that they had seen it already there. “Not sure if you have noticed, but the ion storm is showing an increase in activity. I’m not sure how long we can….” [Transmission ceased.] “What?” Bohb asked almost threateningly. [Transmission ceased.] computer repeated. “Cause?” Bohb requested. [Recieving point of transmission no longer viable.] Bohb sighed, and thought to himself, ~Looks like he’s on his own now. Come on Tegian, you’ve got this.~ (reply Pex) (posted by Al Muir) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (USS Hillary - Passenger Deck - CEO - Lieutenant Jg Tegian Pex - 0822) Tegian could almost see his mentor's expression. =^= Don’t you worry about what’s going on up here, Lieutenant Pex. Illuminar, this is The Hillary, come in, please." He sighed and got up, poking his head into the flight deck. "Vic, with Commander Gregory, incapacitated, it seems I'm currently the ranking officer. Lieutenant Bohb just informed me that an Ion Storm is showing increased activity and we just lost communications with the Illuminar. I'm going to try and boost the signal now that the beacons are all in place." Tegian tried to figure out the next move. "See if you can raise the Pasteur and have them chase down Commander Gregory before he gets too far in the Rover. I'm going to try and get the transporters working, if possible. Let me know what you hear from the Pasteur and let Command Solice that she should assume command of this away mission." (Reply Montero) Tegian went back to the Passenger Deck and briefly glanced over at Ensign zh'Firre to make sure she was breathing. She didn't look any worse, nor any better. "Ensign Waffles, let's bring the beacons online and see if we can boost our signal to the Illuminar." With the two of them working, they connected The Hillary's communications and transporters to the beacons' and Tegian tried to raise the Illuminar. His finely honed senses noted the smell of death and decay. Smelled like the streets where he grew up, something you never forget. He began his sweep, looking for signs of foul play when his ears perked up. It was Lieutenant Trei. The Caitain turned to see Trei rip her mask off and begin to vomit onto the floor, before beginning to sob. ~Damn~ he thought as he moved next to her. Speaking softly, he lifted the Lieutenant off the floor, while his tail grabbed hold of her respirator. "I'll be back," he called out as he carried Trei outside and away from the complex. Setting her done, he took the respirator, "Lieutenant, we're out of there, but you need to put your mask on," he said starting to put the device on Trei. She tried to speak to the Catian to thank him for comforting her. She cuddled him as her set her gently set her down outside the facility. He knelt down next to the lieutenant. "Can I get you anything, Ma'am?" he asked softly. "Some water, maybe?" (reply Trei) P'Rah headed over to the replicator. Glancing at the Commander, the doctor had him wearing a mask. He returned to Trei with the water and helped her drink it. "Doctor," he called. "Lieutenant Trei breathed in some of the atmosphere." She felt better and relaxed in the bed. She will need to relieve herself soon. Maybe when the doctor treats her , she can use the bathroom. She thanked the cat person. ""Thank you Kitty. I feel sleepy.." She slipped into a dream that she was being taking care of by a cat person. She smiled at the cat person and wanted to do a cheer for him. She took a cheer stance and started doing a line of front hand springs cheering "Furry Kitty is so pretty lets have fun in the city. Preetttttttttty Kiiiiiity." The sight was clearly too much for her. She began to babble at him as if she were a child, a behavior the Brikar had no time for, nor compassion for. She fell to the floor, pulled off her respirator, and began to empty the contents of her stomach on the floor. Dogan sighed, thinking that there was no way he was going to clean that up. Fortunately, P’Rah came to her rescue. He picked her up, got her respirator, and helped her outside. Dogan followed, carefully stepping over the pool of vomit, and watched in time to see Commander Gregory be transported away. He assumed it was to the Pasteur. He had been ordered to be ready to leave in twenty minutes. He knew that was a tight schedule to keep. They had to finish recording the bodies and tagging them. It was going to take time. =^=Mr. Dogan, just investigate and leave the bodies. We can come back if we need to. We lift off in 20 minutes.=^= “As you wish,” Dogan replied and closed the channel. He turned around to see P’Rah drag Trei onto the shuttle then headed back into the medical building, noting the rover that Gregory arrived in was still there. He saw that the team had finished recording the scene, and tags were being set. “Hold on those tags,” he said. “We’ve been ordered to leave. We have 20 minutes to get back to the Hilary.” There was a round of groans, but equipment started getting gathered. He went back to the administration office to check on Hammons. “Time to bug out, Chief,” he said. “Do you have everything you need?” (reply Hammons) Then he stepped back into the ward and took a count of who was remaining. With Hammons coming from the office, there was Temerity, with his marines and himself, as well as Hammons. It would be easier to keep track of the five of them. “Let’s move out,” Dogan said. “Commander Gregory was kind enough to leave us a form of transport.” As they moved to the exit there was a sudden chilling… growl… coming from another chamber they hadn’t explored. “What was that,” one of the marines said. The door swung open a creature stalked into the room. It filled the doorway, at over six feet tall and weighing what looked like 2000 pounds. It had a wolf-like appearance to it, but with the snout of a pig. The hair seemed more like spikes and had a hue of reddish-orange as if it glowed. It emanated a feeling. Even Dogan could sense it. “Everyone out, now,” he said, taking up a position between the creature and the others. (reply Hammons, Temerity, any) (posted by Al Muir) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (Zertos 3 - Tellarite Mining Complex - SecO - CPO Steven Hammons - 0840) Steven was carrying the case from the lab which due to the strength assist of the armor reminded him of a feather. ~Yeah, try dropping it on someone's head though and see the difference. The case wouldn't be ticklish at all.~ Stepping into the med center he noticed that a kerfuffle was winding down and one of their number was being dragged away. Dogan came from behind a corner and they nearly ran one another down. Who would have been more affected? That call was a toss-up. “Time to bug out, Chief. Do you have everything you need?” Steven raised the case as he stepped aside. "It's all in here. Last one out is a big pile of rocks." Nevertheless he fell into step behind the Brikarian with a chuckle. The marines had also hustled in and were standing by. "Hello boys, quiet day isn’t it?" (Temerity, any) Dogan gave the order to move out but they were hardly on their way before a humungous, pig snouted, wolfish thing poked it's head through a nearby doorway. "Hello, what's this? I didn’t order some cheesy, B-rated sci fi flick for the afternoon entertainment." Hammons quipped. “What was that?" "That was my line, get your own." “Everyone out, now,” Why Dogan tried to interpose himself between the creature and the rest Steven had no idea, they were well armored while he.... all right, yeah he had his own natural armor but still... Steven adjusted the wrist phaser to its highest stun setting, if the critter shrugged that off he had plenty worse to throw at it. "Lieutenant I suggest you back slowly away with us rather than trying to play the hero." He noted as he stepped beside him and glared at the creature with his arm extended. Being linked with Alaya he had acquired a sensitivity to psychic and telepathic phenomena and he was definitely getting those vibes here. Something about this thing was aware on a level that was outside normal experience. "Paranormal anyone?" He held up his left hand with the case in an 'All stop' motion to the marines. "Hold your fire gents. This thing is aware and if I were a betting man I'd say it can probably read our intent. Everyone relax and we may get out of this without a ruckus." (Reply: Temerity, Dogan) Steven lowered his right arm. "We come in peace." ~Take us to your wolf-pig leader.~ (Reply: Any) (Posted by Charles Gatling) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (Zertos 3 - Tellarite Mining Complex - SecO - Lt.Cal Dogan - 0841) Dogan looked down at Hammons with curiosity and a little frustration. There was going to have to be a conversation with Lt. Commander T’Mur about crew simply following orders. "Lieutenant I suggest you back slowly away with us rather than trying to play the hero,” Hammons said. Dogan remained silent and held his ground. It wasn’t heroics, but logic. Logically, if the creature attacked he would, most likely, sustain the least damage. Then a strange look came over the man. He didn’t look away from the creature but said, “Paranormal anyone?” ~Ineresting.~ Dogan thought. He knew that Hammons was married to a telepath, but had no idea he had insight to the paranormal, himself. Hammons held up his hand to inform everyone to stand their ground. "Hold your fire gents. This thing is aware and if I were a betting man I'd say it can probably read our intent. Everyone relax and we may get out of this without a ruckus." Dogan now looked away from the creature and asked, “What do you have in mind?” He answered by lowering his weapon and saying to the creature, "We come in peace." Dogan maintained his place and his posture, which had been fairly neutral to begin with. He was willing to let Hammons do whatever it was he was going to do, as long as he was not in imminent danger, ie. being attacked. He also noticed the others start to relax their posture a little. What happened next was very surprising, which was nothing. The creature looked around the room at each of the security personnel and marines in the room, almost as if it were confused. It shook its head a couple of time, then tilted it slightly. Its deep growl began to change to a… friendlier?... tone. After a minute it turned and returned through door from which it came. There was a collective sigh that went through the group. Dogan was no less confused than the others and looked at Hammons. He gave him a slight chuck on the should. “That’s something you don’t see every day,” he said. “What happened?” (reply Hammons) (posted by Al Muir) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (Zertos 3 - Tellarite Mining Complex - SecO - CPO, Steven Hammons - 0842) The bump knocked Hammons to the right a bit but his armored suit absorbed any damage it might have caused such as a sore shoulder. “That’s something you don’t see every day,” Dogan said. “What happened?” Steven's reply may or may not have been helpful. "I don't know what, why or even how that thing is but I could sense it and it wasn't hostile. All I felt was ... concern and sadness." (Reply: Dogan, Temerity) "I seem to have some latent ability, it surfaced after I bonded with Alaya." He looked around. "I wish I had some answers but I don't, sorry. At any rate this looks like a good time to get out of here." (Reply: Dogan, Temerity) Steven hefted the case which is a strong word since it seemed so light and slid past the doorway the creature had popped out of, the darkness beyond seemed unnaturally thick. The complex in that direction had already been checked and at the time the lighting had been solid if a little dim. Time seemed to slow in the oppressive atmosphere until they exited the complex and stepped into the sunlight which was only slightly affected by the partial cloud cover overhead. Seeing the shuttle Steven made tracks for it. However, nobody else seemed to be concerned, including the marine Lieutenant, so he left with the rest of them. They all headed over to the rover that had been left by Commander Gregory. By the time that Cal got there, the others had taken up enough space that there was no room for him. He humphed a little then shrugged. It wouldn’t be the first time he’d had to take the stairs when the turbo lift would not accommodate his mass as well as that of others. He looked at Hammons and said, “Go with the marines. I will make my way back on foot.” (reply Hammons) (posted by Al Muir) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (Zertos III/USS Pasteur - 3XO/CMO Commander Quinna Solice - 0844) "Doctor," he called. She was asked what happened at the facility. She angrily complied. "I walked in the facility and saw all the dead bodies. Entities to interact with. Stories to tell and exchange. Once the thoughts came and there was no loneliness. But that was before. Time had no meaning. Ephemeral's considered time, but not it. Not All that was clear that it had not heard the thoughts but its own. It missed the stories. The voices. One by one, the voices had been silenced till there was nothing but its own thought. It has replayed the stories over and over, but that even got tedious. It craved new stories, new voices. The Ephemeral's had showed up. They walked on the planet, searching for something. It had tried to speak with them. Learn their stories, but to no avail. Their voices were silent, no matter how much it had tried to interact with them. They were seeking something. Sending strange waves into the planet. They began to use things to puncture the planet. It didn't understand, but tried to reach them. It tried to keep them with it. The first sign of something being wrong was an ephemeral ceased to be. Then another and a third. It mourned the loss of stories it had not heard before. It even tried to help the ephermerals. Then there was nothing again. It was alone. Till it sensed another group of ephemeral's arrived. These were different than the first group. The first group had been all the same, but these were all different. It got excited again as it began to learn more about them. These ephemerals came to the place where the others had ceased to be. Some of the new ephemerals were like the old ones, while others were very different. It was surprised as it could hear some of these new arrivals. The stories were disjointed and confusing, but that was ok. Here, now, maybe it could finally interact with them and learn their stories. It slowly reached out to one of the new ephemerals. I need you and the others to take video surveillance of the ward. Suggestions on disposing of them?” Looking thoughtful for a couple of moments, Charles replied with a tone of remorse, “We have a couple of options on what to do with the bodies. The easiest would be to simply bury them. We can place simple markers with the names of those that can be positively identified and a simple generic marker on those we cannot identify.” He then paused for a moment before continuing, “I’ll get a detail together to start digging the graves while myself and the rest of the Marines move the remains, and we’ll collect the video as we do so.” (Reply: Hammons iyw) “I’ll get my Marines together and get rolling on this.” Temerity stated as he began rubbing his forehead as he moved off. “I need to go and check on Commander Gregory, and see what Dr. Solace wishes,” he said. “Secure the area.” Temerity faced Hammons with a hardened look in his eye, “I don’t know how many folks you THINK we have down here, but someone will need to prioritize and some folks will have to pitch in and get their manicures dirty.” And then turned to walk away as he tapped his earpiece “Marines to the front of the main building. We have a job and none of us are going to like it.” Even as an NCO, Charles always tried to tell things like he perceived them without candy coating things. Once the Marines had gathered together, he gave them all a rundown of what they were going to have to do before he led them inside. As Temerity along with the rest of the Myrmidons, that were literally boots-on-ground, entered the lab he heard Hammons quip. “Time to bug out, Chief. Do you have everything you need?” Steven raised the case as he stepped aside. "It's all in here. Last one out is a big pile of rocks." Nevertheless, he fell into step behind the Brikarian with a chuckle. The marines had also hustled in and were standing by. "Hello boys, quiet day, isn’t it?" So I want to quietly inform you that as my Marines are relocating the victim’s bodies, we will NOT be digging the graves. So I strongly suggest that you either assemble a detail to dig the graves for us to respectfully place these victims in or…well lets just say you would not like the alternative.” Without awaiting a response, he turned and began giving orders to the Marines to locate stretchers and prepare the bodies to be moved outside. Dogan gave the order to move out, but they were hardly on their way before a humongous, pig snouted, wolfish thing poked its head through a nearby doorway. In response to the sudden, unexpected movement, all the Marines reflexively raised their weapons prepared to defend. I don’t want to go through another court-martial, but it might be worth it in his case.’ He then turned to the marines and signaled them to lower their weapons. Steven lowered his right arm. "We come in peace." The bump knocked Hammons to the right a bit but his armored suit absorbed any damage it might have caused such as a sore shoulder. “That’s something you don’t see every day,” Dogan said. “What happened?” Steven's reply may or may not have been helpful. "I don't know what, why or even how that thing is but I could sense it and it wasn't hostile. All I felt was ... concern and sadness." Charles adjusted his rifle so that it was slinged across his back and stepped up to the animal and held his hand out, palm up, to allow it to sniff him; just like he would to a dog before attempting to lightly pet its muzzle. "I seem to have some latent ability, it surfaced after I bonded with Alaya." He looked around. "I wish I had some answers, but I don't, sorry. At any rate this looks like a good time to get out of here." “We still have a job to do here. You go ahead and do whatever the hell you think you must.” The Marine lieutenant directed. Steven hefted the case and slid past the doorway the creature had popped out of. Charles turned to the Marines, “Alright everyone, dip into your rations and cough up the second largest item you have that you would feed your pet…if you had one here. Let him sniff you, pet his muzzle a little and give him the treat. He’s most likely hungry as hell. When that’s done, let's start getting these bodies out of here.” As they began moving bodies, Charles could not stop his mind from wandering to the Doers Brigade and the events that followed that horrific event. Commander T'Mur - 1108) As they walked boh T’Mur and Sekal ran tricorder sweeps of the area. Sekal was, of course, looking for scientific information, where T’Mur was more tactically based, looking for life signs and energy signatures that might indicate weapons. Sekal noted that atmosphere of the ship was well within normal parameters. Then he noted, "A transitory molecular reading in the lower order of bandwidth of the Planck's constant. Non ionizing and not biologically based." He paused for a moment and said, "This was not noted on the shuttle scans of the ship." T’Muir changed her display and acknowledged the information with a nod, “The readings from the Illuminar are still somewhat inconsistent from the distance due to the ionize atmosphere. But the signature of the dust particles appear to have a similar ionic reading as the atmospher of the planet. "It lasted for only milliseconds,” Sekal said. "We should quicken our pace." They quickly made their way to the bridge. T’Mur went back to scanning for life, with no results. As they walked Sekal commented about possible theories to the missing crew. None of it seemed logical to either of the Vulcans. “It would be irrational to assume that the ship was locked in the ionosphere and unable to send a message when all of its systems are functional," Sekal said. T’Mur agreed, “It would only be logical to assume that the ship was… hiding from being discovered by unsuspecting ships.” The door to the lift opened admitting them to the bridge. He was moving to the command chair when he received a hail. =^= Ssvresh to Captain Sekal. I’ve reached the engine room. "Navigational controls are currently locked therefore we will be going nowhere until they are freed. Prioritize thrusters and the impulse engines. Once we have control we will maneuver to a higher orbit and out of the ionic interference." (Reply: Ssvresh) Looking at the holographic menu which appeared eight inches above the chair arm he noted the numerous commands prompts listed, alerts, intra-ship communications, override commands and log folders. Attempting the overrides could wait until he had delved into what had been occurring on the ship and the reason for its current condition. "The warp drive engine is of secondary concern. Continue as you are and notify me when the thrusters and impulse drive are available. I require a full diagnostic on the warp drive before we begin drawing power from it." (Reply Ssvresh) Having signed off he tapped the logs folder and selected the latest, he could work backward from there if necessary. Sekal stepped back and to the side as a figure appeared in the command chair, Tellarite as expected. The Tellarite Commander was shouting something as he looked toward the forward viewscreen, Sekal's eyes followed but there was of course no activity in the area of helm and navigation or the viewer. The Vulcan CO was also not conversant in the Tellarite native tongue which the officer was using so he took hold of the tricorder and activated its translator feature. In fact, it was a little too easy, which, of course, made him uneasy. The door to the engineering section opened and Larry stepped in, phaser drawn and ready. But there appeared to be nobody else there. And the only sounds in the room were the beeps and bloops of the monitors in the room. He ushered the Selay inside and watched as he went to work. He won't say that the sight of a giant snake-like creature, walking around, did not make him feel... weird. However, it was not the strangest thing that he'd seen nor that he'd experienced... this year. He took solace in the knowledge that at least he, Ned, and Dusty were starting to hang out together more. It wasn't like it was before, but it was better. Ssvresh contacted the captain to give his report. He explained the condition of the hull and power. He suggested firing up the propulsion system, but the captain told him that he would rather have thrusters and impulse control. Larry thought it was the same thing, but what did he know? He was only security. he didn't have the vast technical knowledge of engineers and command staff. When Ssvresh was done with his conversation with the captain he looked over at Day. Gesturing to a bulkhead plate he said, "Could you give me a hand removing this access plate?" Larry shrugged, "Sure." He moved over to the plate and picked up a hyper spanner. Attaching the tool to the bolts he began to unscrew them. When it came to the last bolt he had a little trouble. It was as thought a weight was on the plate. He pushed back against the plate and finally got the last bolt out. When Larry stepped back, the plate crashed to the floor and something tumbled out of the interjunction. The last bolt strained but eventually gave way and as the access plate crashed to the deck it was followed by a humanoid body. “This Tellarite has been dead for some time.” Doing his best to push the body from his mind and focus on his task, Ssvresh reached into the access hatch and began to trace the ODN relays feeding the main thruster assembly. As he entered the hatch, leaving the security officer behind with the dead Tellarite, Ssvresh began to draw together a picture of the main thruster arrangements. Unfortunately the main thrusters had been severed from the ship’s computer – possibly the last act of the individual now gracing the engine room floor. Typically the bacteria that lives inside all living things continues to consume the body, releasing gasses. This had not happened. It was as if even the bacteria had been killed. He moved to the bodies on the beds. These ones were a bit more morose. Blood had seeped from their orifices; eyes ears, nostrils, mouths. Whatever had killed them was no natural phenomenon. Then she accessed the maneuvering thrusters. The ship shuddered as it worked at pulling away from the gravitational influence of the planet and the electromagnetic interference of the ionic storm, which seemed to be on an ebb. Now as he turned to enter the shuttle it descended on him full force causing him to turn and look back as tears sprang unbidden to his eyes, an involuntary reaction to a previously and relatively unknown emotion. Pets pass while one is young, fathers go off to space leaving behind an empty space into which emotion drains longing and despair. For a moment she felt the urge to cry, but managed to contain herself. Then she had a desire to find her mate and hold her for an unmeasured amount of time. She needed to feel her love. Sekal’s voice brought her attention back to what she was doing. "Cast off!" His voice seemed strained as well. “Casting off,” she said, once again focused. But that feeling of loss still nagged at her. She released the docking clamps and veered the shuttle away from Ixtal at half impulse. It took a moment for the inertial dampeners to kick in. Suddenly there was a lurch as if something had struck the shuttle. She heard Sekal saying, "We must get far away quickly." Then he appeared at the navigator's seat. T’Mur was already accelerating to full impulse, but it was barely keeping them ahead of the shockwave of the Ixtal’s explosion. Tendrils of energy licked at the shuttle's nacelles, causing it to buck and spin. She had ops and security monitoring the ship while engineering was still trying to break through the interference between the planet and the Illuminar. Looking around the Bridge, she was surprised to realize that she was the only senior officer still aboard. Everyone here was one of the junior officers, the ones that usually stood night and relief shifts, or worked tirelessly with making sure the Illuminar was up to snuff and performing well. It was really just a distraction, trying to distract herself that two of the most important people in her life were aboard the Ixtal - Sekal and her mate T'Mur. Something tickled the back of Sy's mind. Some flash of something remembered. She was mated to a vulcan and the distance was well within her sensing range. Her heart seemed to be beating too fast, as the message came in: =^=Illuminar this is the Leif Erikson. Quarantine protocols are hereby initiated. Prepare to transport all aboard to the isolation ward upon our return. I repeat, quarantine protocols are in effect. No crew are to come into contact with those on the Leif Erikson without full biohazard equipment and the shuttle is to be quarantined on deck until it can be safely sterilized.=^= "Illuminar acknowledges, Captain. Welcome Home, even if it's under these circumstances. Sit tight and we'll get you sorted. Verin out." Sienna ended the connection, then tapped her comm badge, "Bridge to Medical. The shuttle returning needs all aboard transported into isolation and decontamination." Including her mate. Sienna would not think about that while she was issuing her orders. <reply medical> "Operations," She addressed the officer sitting there, who she recognized as their android, "Interface with Engineering and get that shuttle sterilized. Quickly." Sy hit her comm badge, "Bohb, this is Verin. The Captain has declared a biohazard quarantine and I need the shuttle they are going to be docking to be sterilized asap. I'm sending the android to assist you." <reply Bohb, Ops> Sienna's eyes brushed over the young woman who was manning the science station. The plant biologist that Luma had insisted on for caring for her roses. "Miss Winters, I know you are scanning everything, but your expertise with plant viruses and parasites might come in handy here. Liason with the teams and see what you can find. I'll try to get more information soon, have a direction to look in." Celiste nodded, swallowing nervously as she turned her sensors towards the shuttle. Right now Sienna's attention was on getting the Captain and her mate cleared and the team back aboard. By the blessed Goddess, she was tired. She had been tired ever since awakening. It was then that Sy realized that Celiste's brother was on that shuttle. One more call, "Mr. Laredo, can you make your way down to medical and see if you can be some help in the decontamination protocol. Maybe you and Luma can sense something," Sy's voice said it was a remote possibility but one that she was willing to entertain. Besides she knew that as a counselor trained by Riven Mias, he would be able to soothe frayed tempers and keep the teams mental outlook more positive. Sometimes that was what did the trick. Sitting back down in the CO's chair, Sy leaned back, wished for more coffee and hoped, hoped that all would come back negative. She had one of those feelings that something wasn't quite right. She found that new vaccinations were available for Cardassian influenza. Many that were not Cardassian have gotten sick from the stain and died. It had been localized to Cardassian Prime. The silence was a golden moment around here, however, it was soon to be disrupted. "Bridge to Medical. The shuttle returning needs all aboard transported into isolation and decontamination." “Yes, Ma’am.” Aggie replied, “We will be ready.” Aggie turned to the Medical team that was in the area. “Looks like we have our work cut out. Let's get an isolation ward established. Let's get them some privacy. We can establish isolation in holodeck 1.” Sickbay started jumping as staff and supplies were getting moved and set up in the holodeck. There the passengers could be beamed straight into isolation. “Dr. Vanderstein to Commander Verin. Holodeck 1 is set up to receive the crewmen from the shuttle. All they need is to be beamed straight over.” (Reply Verin) “Yes, Ma’am.” Agnes replied. She looked around as the Medical team was busy. She picked up her own set of supplies and started sorting things away. “Looking around, We need an onsite lab to conduct tests. I hope I am over-preparing.” (Reply any) (Posted by Kris B) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (Shuttle Leif Erickson - Passenger Area - Temp Security Ensign Tavay - 1133) Tavay sat on the shuttle stoic as she could. Professionalism was a thing in her family. It has been a couple of generations since her family had meant anything. Since they sat on the Romulan senate or held ranking positions in the Tal Shiar. Tavay never grew up with that in her life but had been told stories. She was expected to hold herself like her ancestors once did. A shiver ran down her spine. A sudden chill. She grabbed tightly to the chair. The lights seemed to start spinning. She opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out of it. It was all she could do to keep herself upright in the chair as she felt her body become heavy. At one point Sekal fell across the crew, but finally managed to work his way back to the cockpit area. Stev continued to monitor the other five remaining in the back. Suddenly Tavay grabbed the arm rest of her seat then fell forward to deck. He programmed his tricorder for her Romulan physiology and scanned her. Her body temperature had dropped five degrees from normal. He also noted, on a hunch, that her cells We’re showing signs of oxygen depletion, much like the Tellarites. She had touched several of the bodies. “Damn it,” he mumbled to himself. He took the hypospray syringe from his med pack and inserted an ampule of triox compound. Then he placed it on her neck and with a tap of his thumb it gave off a familiar hiss. Immediately her pallor looked better and her breathing seemed to improve. Then began the search for the cause. There was nothing he could see here. No noticeable virus or antigen. Looking around the room at the others all he could do was shrug. Tavay has improved but was still unconscious. Stev heard T’Mur announce that they were ready for transport. He tapped his own comm badge. “Kyllee to Dr. Vanderstein, Tavay is down. I need her in a bed away from the rest. Also, I’m going to want to see the results of the bio filters from the transporters.” (reply Vanderstein, any) (posted by Al Muir) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (USS Illuminar -- Sickbay -- Deck 5 -- Civilian Dotor -- Agnes Vanderstein -- 1137) Agnes had been monitoring the communications since she had the isolation ward had been set up. “Commander, we are prepared and transport when ready,” Agnes said. Aggie nodded to the med team. “Kyllee to Dr. Vanderstein, Tavay is down. I need her in a bed away from the rest. Also, I’m going to want to see the results of the biofilters from the transporters.” (Reply Verin, T’Mur) “We can transport you and her directly to iso ward 1.” Agnes replied. They were set up just in case. But then everyone was. Looking at the monitor she noticed the ionstorm dissipating. Since Corday was resting in the pilot seat she called for Lt. Montero to meet on the flight deck on the Pasteur. She walked over to Lt. Corday and gently shook his shoulder. His fever, though still high seemed to be cooling a small bit, “Lt. Corday, are you feeling better? Do you think you can fly us home?” (Reply Corday) Soon Montero had joined them. Quinna looked at them. “The ion storm has passed. Do you think you can get us back to Illuminar?” She asked. I will get communications back in order to get sickbay alerted.” (Reply Corday, Montero, any) (posted by Kris B) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (USS Pasteur - Flight deck - Pilot Ensign Vic "Raid" Montero - 1147) "The ion storm has passed. Do you think you can get us back to the Illuminar?" Commander Solace asked. Montero chuckled, "Do bears shit... err defecate in the woods Ma'am. I can fly the Hillary through a needle and leave room on the sides if you want Commander," Montero bragged. "I'll get her home safe and sound." "You up for this Snoopy?" he asked (Reply Corday) "If nothing else Ma'am, let me go get the Hillary set." (Reply Solice) (posted by Tim) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (USS Pasteur - Flight Deck - Pilot Lt. Arthur ‘Snoopy’ Corday - 1148) Waiting for the window in the storm to open had drained Arthur and he had managed to doze off. A touch on his shoulder stirred him and he quickly sat up. Dr. Solice looked at him, concern still in her eyes. “Lt. Corday, are you feeling better? Do you think you can fly us home?” Arthur stretched his neck and shoulders that had tightened up a bit from his position in his seat. “I’ve been worse,” the pilot said, not exactly feeling as positive as he tried to sound. “And I can’t imagine a scenario in which I cannot fly.” Vic joined them and chuckled at Snoopy’s statement. “The ion storm has passed,” Solice said. “Do you think you can get us back to Illuminar?” Montero chuckled again, "Do bears shit... err defecate in the woods Ma'am. I can fly the Hillary through a needle and leave room on the sides if you want Commander," Montero bragged. "I'll get her home safe and sound." "You up for this Snoopy?" he asked Snoopy gave him a weak but wicked grin and said, “Yiu know me. I can always get it up. If you excuse the parlance.” "If nothing else Ma'am, let me go get the Hillary set," Montero said. (Reply Solice) “I’ll be ready in five minutes,” Arthur said, as his fingers already began to move over the controls. “Let's get the shuttles decoupled and start going back to our way. I will get communications back in order to get sickbay alerted.” Arthur looked over at her and said, “Comms are already back, Commander. Don’t let me hold you up.” Quinna was enthusiastic. She was ready to get back to the ship. “I’ll be ready in five minutes,” Arthur said, as his fingers already began to move over the controls. Quinna stood in the doorway of the tethered passenger deck. “We are going to be heading back to the Illuminar. Mr. Pex, I will need you on the Pasteur Flight deck. Everyone needs to be Secured in the passenger decks.” (Reply Pex) (NPRG: Pick your Ship.) Quinna turned when she heard Corday speak again. “Let's get the shuttles decoupled and start going back to our way. I will get communications back in order to get sickbay alerted.” Arthur looked over at her and said, “Comms are already back, Commander. We’re being hailed by the Illuminar.” Quinna Smiled. "Thanks, I got this." Quinna turned her attention to the Comm. The drawl of Andy Taylor’s voice came on. =^=Illuminar to the away team. Report.” “Illuminar the is Commander Solice. We are beginning our sequences to return to the Illuminar. I need a level 3 isolation ward set up in Holodeck. Have Dr. Kyllee get that set up. Several members have gotten sick including Commander Gregory.” (Reply Taylor) Pex had come to the flight deck. Quinna addresses him after she finished talking to the Illuminar. She kept a hushed tone. “Mr. Pex, I believe I read somewhere that one of your previous hosts.” (reply Pex) “I would like you to have a seat on the flight deck with us.” Quinna was hoping that she did not go into an explanation. She also made note that she wanted flight training and was making she would ask the captain.
