(Starbase Geneva, Personal Quarters, COUNS,
Lieutenant(Jg) Kassia Marta, 2210)

Kass got up and dressed in the appropriate attire, she
thought, for an interview of a prisoner.

She had never thought of these as an interrogation,
but, as an interview. She hated what others

called interrogation as most of them involved some
kind of violence. Her questioning or interview

never involved violence. She always tried to illicit
information through peaceful means.

Just as she started to walk out, it came to her that
she was not ready to talk to the Security

Officer, Petty Officer 3 class, Dale Allenby. She
walked over to her console and inputted his

name to search who he was and the history of his
family. What she found was interesting indeed

and was surprised that he had been permitted to be
part of the security team. She now also

understood why he would attempt to kill Paul. She shut
down her console and walked out of her

quarters heading for the brig.

(Posted by Frank)

(Starbase Geneva, deck 64, brig, COUNS, Lieutenant(Jg)
Kassia Marta, 2228)

It had been another long ride from Deck 4, where her
quarters was, to the brig on deck 64. When

she went to her office she had only to go to deck 19.
She wished in a way that her office was

closer to the command section, but, then again she was
glad it wasn't at other times.

She entered the Brig to see a guard sitting behind the
desk once again. It brought back the time

she had visited Dean Benford. That encounter had left
her with the feeling that she had lost the

conversation to him and wanted a rematch, so to speak.

"Sir, I am here to interview the prisoner, SO Dale
Allenby by order of the second officer." She

informed him as she stepped up.

(Reply Guard)

"I understand the procedures, I was down her before."
She replied to his statement, "But, I also

know that you have to go through that each time
someone comes to visit a prisoner."

(Reply Guard)

"Thanks and could you keep one of your guards within
ear shot, but, out of sight?" She wanted

someone close just in case something wrong developed.

(Reply Guard)

"That would be fine, thanks" She replied with a smile
then turned to head toward the cell Allenby

was in.

(Starbase Geneva, deck 64, brig, cell area, COUNS,
Lieutenant(Jg) Kassia Marta, 2233)

Kass walked to where the guard had told her the cell
was for SO Allenby. She stood before the

cell for a moment before turning to sit down in the
chair available. She pulled out her PADD that

had the information on Allenby and reread it without
saying one word to the individual. As she

finished she looked up and observed Allenby and what
he did. She wanted to see his actions and

what they could tell her before saying anything to
him. She decided that if he wanted to say

anything, he would eventually say it. She knew that
Allenby would probably say things to get her

to talk, but, she had trained to ignore things like
that.

She had been sitting there for over two hours and had
not said anything. She moved a bit here and

there to remain comfortable, but, had not said a
thing. She had watched his every move to a fro

in the cell and could tell that he was not at all
comfortable having someone just sit and watch

him.

(Starbase Geneva - Diplomatic Centre - Council Member
Madon - 2300)

It had been a long, difficult day, but even a cold,
calculating ice queen such as Council Member

Madon with her enhanced symbiotic makeup needed rest
once in a while & the time had now arrived

for her to do just that. Sleep however, was not
something that Madon took lightly for it was

always filled with such things that she would rather
not have to face.

It had always been the same, the dominant parasitic
lifeform that had infested her very being

needed to mrest & recuperate & when it wanted that, or
anything else for that matter, the

Cardassian that once was Sulia Madon could do nothing
but obey.

Gul Damok, had of course by this time left her
quarters. Madon quickly divulged herself of her

clothing as the need for rest came upon her & then she
lay exhausted upon the bed provided &

eventually began to drift into a deep sleep.

These were the times that proved most difficult due to
the fight that would inevitably rage

within her, for when asleep, the parasite would become
dormant & the memories of Madon`s past

life would come flooding through unhindered to torment
her in vain attempts to regain some

modicum of control.

Images of brutality & corruption inhabited her dreams,
the beatings, the subjucation, the horrors

of what it was like to be a young Cardassian female at
the hands of vengeful Bajoran`s intent on

reminding her of what her kind had inflicted upon them
so long ago filled
her mind. Such memories were always too much & the
nightmares inevitably woke her in a state of

panic, just as they had on this particular occasion.

Madon woke with a start.......

(Starbase Geneva, Transporter Room 2, ATAC/ASC Ensign
JG Samantha Chandler - 2306)

Sam breathed a sigh of relief when she materialized on
the transporter padd of Starbase Geneva.

~What a first day!~ Sam thought as she stepped off the
padd. She watched as a security team and

marines took charge of the prisoners and took them to
the brig.

Sam walked out of the transporter room. She noticed
Dr. Mackenzie waiting for. The two of them

began walking together down the corridor.

"That was nice work back there. I owe you big time,"
Mackenzie said.

"It was nothing. I was just doing my job. I just glad
that you are okay," Sam replied shrugging

it off a bit.

"Yeah, for a minute there I thought I was a goner.
I'm glad we're back home."

"Me too. What a way to start a career," Sam said

"Well, I guess I'll see you around. I'm on my way to
sickbay. I've got to make sure Casely's

alright," Mackenzie said turning to walk away.

"Yeah, I guess," Sam replied.

A few seconds later, she heard Mackenzie call out,
"Hey.....how about a round of drinks later?

It sure wouldn't hurt my morale."

"Mine either. I usually don't drink, but after the way
my day has been, I could really use one,"

Sam answered.

"Alright. I'll meet up with you later. You choose
the time," Mackenzie said.

"Okay. I would like to change clothes and check in at
the Security Center before, though. How

about an hour from now?" Sam suggested.

(Reply Mackenzie)

"See ya then," Sam said.

(Reply Mackenzie, iyw)

Finishing the conversation, Sam walked down the
corridor towards the turbolift and her quarters.

"All three teams, Medical, Engineering and Marine
Support are back aboard the station, sir," said

the crewman at Ops. Brian nodded and let out a long
breath. He was extremely nervous, but it had

all worked out.

"Very good... I think we all did good tonight," Brian
said addressing everybody in Ops.

There was a few nods and some "Yes, sirs," from the
various stations around the room. Brian

nodded and went to the replicator, getting a cup of
coffee and a PADD with the station's crew

roster. He would have to start psych evaluations
tomorrow, which was a hard task, and he didn't

look forward to it.

Letting out a sigh of relief Matthew stepped off the
platform along with the rest of the away

team. He exited with the others and found a turbolift
to take him back to Casely's quarters.

(Starbase Geneva, Personal Quarters, Ensign JG
Samantha Chandler - 2315)

Sam walked into her quarters. She stripped off her
uniform jacket and just threw it onto the bed.

She sat down on the foot of her bed. She put her head
in her hands and thought about the events

that had transpired during the day. All the emotions
of the day came rushing on her and she was

having a hard time keeping from breaking down.

~Maybe I need to see a counselor.~

(Posted By Esther)

(Starbase Geneva - Personal Quarters - ACMO Lt. Cmdr.
Kaitlyn Mackenzie - 2317)

Having just returned to her quarters, she stripped off
her uniform and sat down on the bed. She

couldn't believe what all had conspired earlier that
day, and was relieved she was back on the

starbase.

She hoped Sam didn't think she was an alcoholic, as
she was after all a doctor, she knew the

effects.

Getting up, she went and picked out something to wear
to Callahan's Bar. She'd never been there

before, but decided there was always something new to
try.

She finished getting ready and looked at the
chronometer. It read 23:28. ~Have I been here this

long already?~ She knew that Sam had said an hour, so
she decided she'd have some time to sit

down and talk to her friend back on Earth.

Sitting down at her desk, she activated the computer
and waited until she got a response from her

friend at the other end.

(Posted by Stacey)

(Starbase Geneva - Personal Quarters - ACMO Lt. Cmdr.
Kaitlyn Mackenzie - 2334)

Looking at her friend through the computer, they were
in the midst of having a conversation.

"You look like hell....what have you been doing?"

Running a hand through her hair, she said, "Oh
nothing....just out saving the world."

She looked at her friend, who sneered back at her.
"You and you jokes. Ok, now what really

happened?"

Kaitlyn glanced at the chronometer, deciding if she
had time to talk about it or not. Deciding

she might as well, she started telling her friend only
bland details about the mission. She

didn't go into anything in detail since they were
still in the mission currently.

"So...then this idiotic guy starts raving at me with a
scalpel in his hand, telling everyone

he'll cut a 6 inch hole in my neck."

She watched her friend's reaction, then laughed.

"You act like it's nothing!"

"I didn't say it was nothing....it just .....it all
seems distant now that I'm back home." Her

friend was now growing considerably concerned, so she
decided to change the subject.

"On the other hand, the men on this starbase aren't so
bad," she said, grinning.

"Oh you have to tell me about that now!" Her friend
grinned back at her, and Kaitlyn started to

remember the times they used to have together back on
Earth.

"Well first off, I've had two guys after me lately.
Ones and Admiral," her friend was all eyes

after hearing the rank on that, "and the other's an
Ensign. Both guys are just my friends right

now, but I'm keeping my eyes peeled for the Ensign I
think."

Bubbling, her friend wanted details of what they
looked like and so on, so Kaitlyn obliged,

telling her friend the physical description of the
guys.

"I haven't talked to the Admiral lately. He's been on
some kind of mission. For that matter,

the captain and him are both on a mission, and the
captain's ill, leaving the Ensign in charge."

She paused. "It's kind of funny when you think about
it," she said, referring to rank only.

Bright eyes filled the screen as her friend said,
"Hey, maybe I might wanna join Starfleet,"

jokingly.

Kaitlyn laughed and looked at the chronometer. It was
2348. She decided she'd better stop

talking with her friend to meet up with Sam.

"Well I'm gonna jump off here. I'm meeting a friend
in Callahan's Bar after what just happened.

I knew I wasn't going to be able to sleep tonight, so
I thought what the hell?"

"You have fun....and you'd better call me again
sometime and let me know more about those men out

there!"

Laughing, she said, "I will. Mackenzie out." She
tapped her console and the image of her friend

disappeared. She didn't realize how much she missed
her old friend and the times they used to

have together until now.

Getting up, she checked herself over in the mirror,
then walked out the door.

JG Samantha Chandler - 2343)

Sam was so deep in thought that she lost track of
time. When she looked at the chronometer, she

saw the time. She also realized that she was still in
her uniform.

She searched through her bags to find something to
wear. After she picked out an outfit, she

stripped out her uniform and took a quick shower. By
the time that was done, she looked at the

chronometer: 2350.

~Guess I had better get out of here if I want to get
there in time.~

She quickly dressed and walked out of her quarters.

Closing the last pannel on the door frame he rubbed
his eyes wearily and stepped into the

"Good work here people. Take some time off." He said
to the engineering crew.

They did so with several good nights and yes sirs.

Hopping onto one of the barstools, Kaitlyn waited for
Sam to meet her there. She had forgotten

that Sam was an ensign and that this was one of her
first missions, and Kaitlyn felt sad about

that. She hoped she was still feeling well about this
whole thing. A lot of times ensign's

second guessed themselves. ~At least, that's what I
used to do...and sometimes still do!~

She turned around as the doors opened and she spotted
Sam. Kaitlyn waved her arm to let her know

where she was, and waited for her to sit next to her.

"So, you got any suggestions for a good drink," Sam

"Your guess is as good as mine," said Kaitlyn, as she
didn't visit too many bars.

As the waiter came around to take their order, she
asked, "What's the special?" Then, changing

her mind, she said,"Never mind that. What do you have
for someone who's just been on a hell of

an away mission that won't sleep well tonight?"
Kaitlyn was tired, but sleep wouldn't come easy.

The bartender smiled and said, "I've got just the
thing....you two ladies hang in there, and I'll

be right back."

Kaitlyn looked over at Sam and shrugged.

<<Reply Chandler>>

"I for one am ready to get this mission over with. I
don't know about you, but having those

Cardassians onboard make me nervous."

<<Reply Chandler>>

"I don't know what it is about them. Just
something.....something doesn't seem to fit right. I

just have a bad feeling."

<<Reply Chandler>>

They continued to chat about their visitors when the
bartender arrived. In front of them he set

down two glasses that were fairly tall with decorative
objects plundered into them.

"Long island iced teas," he said. When the two ladies
were silent, he continued. "Well I assume

the both of you do have duty tomorrow morning?"

Kaitlyn raised her eyebrows, then lowered them.
"You're right, we do."

<<Reply Chandler>>

The bartender smiled, then went back to his duties
helping other customers.

"So what do you think about this place?"

"I for one am ready to get this mission over with. I

Would we?"

The bartender smiled and went back to work, allowing
them to talk some more.

Sam took a sip of her drink. It was good and helped
relax her a little bit.

"So what do you think about this place?" Kaitlyn asked
her.

Sam looked around the room. "It looks like a great
place," Sam replied. "You know, I haven't met

how to make friends with some of these

Dorrin walked with a full intent to get drunk. His

know what to do, he wanted to kill Beurform but he
realized something on the ship. Beurform being

killed by Dorrin would ruin Dorrin's career, thus
giving Beurform the last laugh. Confused and a

little depressed Dorrin decided to retreat to an
age-old solace.

He saw mackenzie and Chandler, knowing that he would
need help getting back to his room, he

thought he would join them, ~maybe talking to them
will keep me from getting a hangover~

Kaitlyn was about to reply when Klars stepped in.

"Well," he said bitterly "that is one question that I
will have to get back to you on, because I

still don't know."

Gesturing to a seat beside the two, she said, "I'm

<<Reply Klars>>

"That's what I thought....after the away mission we
were just on. Have a seat."

<<Reply Klars>>

It was then the three of them sitting in Callahan's

the question she had.

"I guess it's easier being a doctor because you see
everyone at some point in time. But....,"

she paused and laughed. "Let me introduce you to

She was sure she wasn't drunk yet, but she was being

Before Kaitlyn could answer her question, Ensign Klars
came up to the two of them. "Well," he

said bitterly "that is one question that I will have
to get back to you on, because I still don't

know" He took a seat next to Sam.

Sam smiled at his comments.

Klars and Mackenzie spoke for a little while. Sam took
that time to look around the bar, letting

her mind drift.

Her mind was brought back to the conversation when
Kaitlyn answered her question, "I guess it's

easier being a doctor because you see everyone at some
point in time. But....," she paused and

laughed. "Let me introduce you to Klars here."

Sam laughed realizing that everyone was starting to
relax and unwind. These people were fast

becoming her friends.

While the three of them were talking, another person
walked up to them. Sam recognized as the

leader of the engineering team that went to the
Montcalm.

"Is this a private party, or can anyone join?" he
asked with a grin, slumping in a chair.

"Hey Matthew.....if I may call you that?" Mackenzie
said.

"Yeh sure. Matt, matthew, whatever comes to mind." He
replied sitting back into his seat.

"So, " Mackenzie said, pausing, "I take it you're here

we are?"

"Yeh, just finnished the repairs on the bomb sites and
am hell tired, but theres no way I'll be

able to sleep so I came here." he answered.

Sam sat there listening to their conservation.
Mackenzie ordered more drinks for them. After the

bartender left Matt turned to Sam.

"I dont believe we've met." he said offering his hand.
"Matt McLaren, nice to meet you."

<<Reply McLaren>>

She was glad he didn't care and was relaxed. Since

Madon - 0320)

Lying upon the bed, Madon took a deep breath & then,
as the parasite awoke & began to take hold

of all that she now was, she began to return to some
sort of normality. Without even really

thinking about it, she swung herself from the bed &
then she dressed once again.

Outside in the coridoor, Madon walked alone down
towards one of the turbolifts gracing the

diplomatic level in which her quarters were situated.
The moment the doors had closed, she

requested a deck that could offer recreation or some
other mundane distraction.

The computer offered her numerous choices as it reeled
them off in quick succession.

[Deck 65 is the recreational deck of the Geneva
station, in it you will find our gymnasium, a

swimming pool & many other recreational facilities
designed to relieve the stress of a busy day]

Madon sighed outloud.

"Stop", she said in a sudden, rather annoyed tone of
voice. "I want somewhere where I can relax &

perhaps enjoy the company of my own kind", she added
abruptly, knowing of course that her own

`Kind`, as she put it was now nowhere to be found
other than in the quarters of those which she

had boarded the station with.

The computer then chirped in again....

[Holodecks twenty one through to forty are available
on deck 68, if you wish to partake in one of

these facilities I can direct you towards them, please
follow the direction pulse to locate the

holodecks if you require their use]

Madon sighed again, obviously annoyed now by the
mechanical voice issuing forth from the computer

panel in the turbolift.

"Forget it", she said, "Just take me to a place where
I can sit & think undisturbed", she added,

at which point the computer offered it`s suggestons
once again.

[The Arboretum is located on deck fifty one]

"Go there", said Madon abruptly, & the turbolift began
it`s journey towards the selected

destination.

(Starbase Geneva - Arboretum - Council Member Madon -

Once she had arrived in the Arboretum, Madon paused
briefly to look around at the lush vegetation

& thegently sloping areas of grass that were
displayed, before her as her brow furrowed in a

confused manner.

Memories from her past resurfaced from somewhere
within, it all reminded her of something but she

could`nt quite put her finger on what it was as she
moved slowly forwards to sit upon one of the

descrete benches therein.

For a moment, she just took in the aura of the place,
the calm, the feeling of tranquility. It

really was quite beautiful but the thought of it all
soon began to feel alien & harsh. Madon

closed her eyes, ~what is this~, she thought.

Of course what she was actually feeling was a long
distant memory of an area on Bajor she had

fallen in love with as a small child, she had gone
there to relax & meditate & make contact with

something she had always considered beyond her at that
point. The place had been her refuge, her

escape from the horrors of her childhood, her
normality.

The parasite within her however would of course not
allow such thoughts to encroach in such a

manner as they now were & it snapped her violently
away from it.

Madon stood suddenly, the cold parasitic lifeform
enforcing it`s will once again, she held her

hands to her head, closing her eyes tightly in
responce to the pain inside. Then slowly, her

expression softened once again as the parasite took
control.

She had a mission & that mission was her driving
force, the mission would succeed at all costs,

it was undeniable.

Madon lowered her hands to her side & then she walked
from the Arboretum, her mind clear once

again of the duties assigned to her as she walked
towards the turbolift from whence she had came.

any of what she knew. Since she had run up

Kass could not understand what was going on, there was
no mention of the interview that she had

As he well knew, psych evals could be done

Kaitlyn Mackenzie - 0705)

Feeling the side effects of her drinking the night
before, Kaitlyn was glad she at least got some

sleep. The side effects weren't really effecting her
duty, but just made her tired.

As she concentrated on her reports and the medical
data on Casely, she looked up to see one of

her medical assistants in the doorway to her office.

"Hello, doctor. Is their any improvement with Lt.
Casely?"

She put her report aside for a moment, then said, "His
physical injuries have improved, but as

far as his speech center is concerned, it may take
some time."

"I see."

Kaitlyn watched as Dufrane simply walked away, and sat
down on a bench. ~That was odd,~ she

thought and narrowed her eyes. ~Why would he just be
sitting there? There are other duties

around here he could perform.~ Not only that, but she
noticed he wasn't acting like himself.

Sighing, she decided maybe it was her lack of sleep in
combined with the reports she was trying

to ready for Rogers. ~Rogers.....~ Her thoughts
almost started to drift before she quickly

pulled herself back to the PADD she had been working
on.

As she finished up on the report, she glanced back at
the information on her computer. Since her

day was open until 1300, she decided to do Casely's
surgery around 0800. That would give him

more time to recooperate. She just wondered if
Dufrane would be working with her on this or not.

She was the ACMO and could control who she wanted
where. But she wasn't sure if his concern for

Casely was genuine or not.

(Starbase Geneva - Medical Center - FO/TAC/SC -
Lieutenant Paul Casely - 0712)

Paul could hear Kaitlyn talk to a nurse about his
condition. He felt relatively fit other than

his speech and he knew that was keeping him from
active duty. Paul also knew that being out of

active rotation at the time when the Cardassians were
on board was bad for business to say the

least. He reached over and grabbed a PADD and started
tapping.

"Doctor, please get McLaren up here. We may have to
find a temporary technological solution to my

'problem'," wrote Paul.

(Reply Mackenzie)

Paul continued to tap out his messages, "If you can
get him to construct some sort of device that

works in a similar fashion as his visor, but with my
vocal chords I might have something to get

me through until I recover completely."

(Reply Mackenzie)

"You'll have to help him too. He'll need your
expertise with human biology," tapped Paul.

As Kaitlyn assessed Paul's vitals, she saw him begin
to type something on the PADD he held.

"Doctor, please get McLaren up here. We may have to
find a temporary
technological solution to my 'problem'," wrote Paul.

She thought, then responded. "Are you sure? I was
going to do exploratory sugery today."

"If you can get him to construct some sort of device
that works in a similar fashion as his

visor, but with my vocal chords I might have something
to get me through until I recover

completely."

It was clear that Paul wanted her to get him back on
his feet again, and soon.

"You'll have to help him too. He'll need your
expertise with human biology,"
tapped Paul.

"Are you sure? I could find a solution to your
problem through the surgery."

<<Reply Casely>>

She knew he could be a stubborn man, and knew inside
that this was going to be one of those

times.

(Starbase Geneva-Medical Center- FO/TAC/SC -
Lieutenant {SG} Paul Casely - 0721)

Paul knew that he had several Cardassians on board and
little time to fool around. He was certain

that Rogers was doing a good job, but his training
wasn't complete. It wasn't convenient to be

laid up, to say the least.

"Are you sure? I could find a solution to your problem
through the surgery."

"Doctor, I understand what you're saying, but if the
surgery can wait for now and we can get me

back on my feet immediately, it would be best. I'm
also not overly keen on having people cut me

up, to be honest. Is there any chance that this could
heal on it's own over time?" tapped Paul.

Paul then sat back and waited for the reply. He knew
that doctors could be exceedingly stubborn

in cases like this and guessed that Mackenzie was no
exception.

(Starbase Geneva, Engineering Section, EC, Petty
Officer {2nd} Jason Miller, 0801)

Jason walked into the section of the station where all
the systems that kept the station running

were located. He walked over to his commanding officer
for the day, a young Ensign, and started

talking to him.

"Where am I working today, sir?" Miller asked.

"You're working with Jenkins in Section 11. We're
upgrading the security sensors," he said.

Miller nodded and walked off.

Miller walked into Section 11 and saw that Crewman
Jenkins was already working here.

"Hey Miller... I hear you think you're better than us
'cuz you get to work with the officers,

eh?" Jenkins asked. Jenkins was roughy 6'5" tall and
very rude.

"Its not like that, I just..." Before Jason could
finish, Jenkins grabbed Miller around the

uniform and threw him into the bulkhead. Miller's head
hit agasint the wall, and blood poured out

of his ear. Jenkin then dropped Miller's small body to
the ground, and turned away.

"I'll be at the one of the taverns. Have fun upgrading
the sensors," Jenkins said with a evil

grin before walking off. Miller let out a long sigh.
~At least he won't bother me while he's

away.~ Jaosn thought before opening the engineering
kit and begining work on the sensor systems.

(Starbase Geneva- Shuttle Columbia - CMO- Admiral
Gr'iann- 0809)

Gr'iann was happy to be returning to geneva. He
hateed the idea of having to leave, but he had

to take care of his "condition." It was getting
increadingly difficult to control himself,

especially around Kaitlyn. His hormones still raged
every time she had been close. Fortunately

he had been able to seek the "treatment" he needed, at
Pheonix Spacedock, from a female Cait in a

similar condition.

The ordeal of his "Season" was finally over, and it
was a bitter/sweet relief. After several

tests he was certain that it was his final. He had
reached the age of maturity to which there

were no more seasons. It was always a sad time to
realize your own mortality, never more so than

when you realize that you have no cubs to carry on
your line. Such was the life he had chosen,

joining Starfleet.

The computer of the shuttle beeped, indicating he was
in hailing range of the station. Taking a

deep breath, and suddenly realizing that he was going
to have to face the others, including

Kaitlyn Mackenzie, he tapped the comm channel.

"Starrbase Geneva, this is Shuttle Colummbia on
approach."

=^=You are in senor range Columbia. Welcome back
Admiral.=^=

Gr'iann nodded at the person on his view screen. he
didn't recognize them and realized it was

the first time he hadn't seen Yalrath there. His
curiosity kicked in and the hairs on the back

of his neck raised.

"Ensign," he said, "can you put mme thrrough to
Captain Arrriana?"

=^=Sorry Admiral, the captain in incomunicado at the
moment.=^=

"Still!" Gr'iann sounded surprised. What ever was
going on there, it had to be big. "Then put

mme thrrough to Lt. Casely."

The ensign shook his head. =^= Lt. Casely is in Main
Medical and cannot be reached.=^=

~What the hell has been going on over there.~ "In
mmedical. Is he alrright?"

=^=I don't want to say much over an unsecure channel
sir, but there has been an incident and Lt.

Casely was injured.=^=

"Exactly who is in charrge overr therre?" he asked,
feeling a little exasperated.

=^=Ensign Rogers, sir.=^=

~By the gods.~ "Inform Mmrr. Rrogerrs that I will be
arrriving soon, and will want to mmeet with

himm as soon as he is able. I'll stop by Mmedical
firrst."

=^=Aye sir.=^=

"Columbia out." Gr'iann closed the channel and put a
little more power to the engines. He

needed to find out what was going on. And what was
the incident? This did not sound good. Damn

his hormones. He should never have left.

(Starbase Geneva - Diplomatic centre - Council Member
Madon - 08:10)

Council Member Madon was awake now & seated at the
table in her quarters, the previous night had

been as restless as they always had been & Madon
wished that for once, she would be able to sleep

a little better.

On the table was the usual glass of Rokassa which
seemed to be almost in perpetual supply aboard

the station, & a plate of Sem`hal stew which although
most popular with Cardassians, didn`t whet

Madon`s appetite in the slightest.

~No doubt they can`t wait to get rid of this stuff~
she thought as she sipped from the glass &

poked at the stew with the utensils provided. Damok
was right, how anyone could enjoy this was

beyond her & Bokat`s suggestions of linking up some
kind of replicator through the Cardassian

ship was beginning to look more viable by the minute.

Madon put the glass down & then after activating the
jamming device in the room, she initiated a

closed & scrambled communication with Glinn Bokat in
his quarters.

For security reasons, she spoke only briefly when he
acknowledged the call, it wasn`t wise to

remain in communication for too long as there was
always the possibility that an overzealous

crewman might perform a routine scan for covert
transmissions within the station & intercept

them.

Madon had simply requested his presence & Bokat had
only affirmed that he would be with her as

soon as he was able, which turned out to be about 10
minutes later.

"Glinn Bokat", said Madon as he walked into her
quarters, "I trust you have been busy", she

added, knowing of course that the somewhat workaholic
First officer would have been up from the

early hours attempting to find out more information on
Geneva`s inhabitants.

(Reply Bokat)

"We must move at a quicker pace than we are presently
but we must also try our utmost not to

alert anyone by doing so", said Madon as she casually
pushed away the plate in front of her.

"Your right Bokat, this food is revolting", she said,
"perhaps we can nourish ourselves today on

board the Reklar", she added, standing up to stretch
her legs.

"Is there any news on Tamin?", said Madon, "do we have
any idea where he is at all".

(Reply Bokat)

"He will not be able to function well in this
environment, Obsidian order operatives are

prevented from having military equipment as you know,
but Tamin is resourceful, he will adapt to

what he has so we must be ready for whenever he shows
up", said Madon.

(Starbase Geneva - Diplomatic centre - FO, Glinn Bokat
- 0822)

Bokat arrived in the Councilors quarters a short time
ofter her transmitted summons and stood

before the table on which was set the almost inedible
food, Madon certainly seemed displeased

with it.

"Glinn Bokat I trust you have been busy." She growled
as he walked in.

"Of course Councilor." He said. "There is too much to
be done to be idly whiling away the time."

She was not enthused at his pace so far however. "We
must move at a quicker pace than we are

presently but we must also try our utmost not to alert
anyone by doing so", said Madon as she

pushed away the plate of food.

"And how am I to push the pace forward Councilor?" He
said sharply. "I am to meet a known

insurrectionist who is therefore being watched and I
must do so surreptitiously which means it

must be done in secret, hurrying my agenda means the
possibility of exposure." He shrugged. "It

will take as long as it takes." He noted the
displeasure she was showing the food. "Is there a

problem?"

"Your right Bokat, this food is revolting", she said,
"perhaps we can nourish ourselves today on

board the Reklar", she added, standing up. "Is there
any news on Tamin?", said Madon, "do we have

any idea where he is at all".

"Glinn Tamin has disappeared since two days out in the
voyage Councilor." Bokat said slowly.
"And he has not yet surfaced."

"He will not be able to function well in this
environment, Obsidian order operatives are

prevented from having military equipment as you know,
but Tamin is resourceful, he will adapt to

what he has so we must be ready for whenever he shows
up", Madon siad thoughtfully.

"Military equipment or not he is still a danger to our
plans." Bokat said as he walked to the

near wall and surveyed the artwork on it. "He might
make another try at us soon through a third

party and there is always the possibility he might try
to expose us to the stations personnel."

(Reply: Madon)

Bokat shook his head negatively. "There is no threat
of him knowing exactly who and what we are

but he had become suspicious of our motives. The
methods of the Obsidian Order under such

circumstances are clouded, it is hard to read his
intent. It would be childishly simple of course

if he would come after us himself."

(Reply: Madon)

Bokat nodded. "Of course, if I come across his trail I
will hunt him down like a Slith K'silk and

destroy him." He cracked his knuckles with a frown.

(Starbase Geneva - Diplomatic centre - Council Member
Madon - 0823)

Glinn Bokat seemed his usual efficient self when he
arrived in Madon`s quarters this morning, she

had been correct in her assumption that he had been
hard at work tracking down leads, an

assumption borne out by the fact that he had now
arranged to meet with someone on the station

later in the day.

"Exercise care when you meet this person Bokat", said
Madon, almost appearing as if she were

concerned for her colleagues welfare. Of course, her
main concern though was for the mission.

That was indeed a given fact.

The talk then went on to Tamin & his role in their
mission, Madon was obviously concerned by his,

`fly in the ointment` tactics but she wasn`t going to
allow him to ruin their plans, that was for

sure.

"Military equipment or not he is still a danger to our
plans." said Bokat as he walked to the

near wall and surveyed the artwork upon it, a remnant
taste from his former Cardassian life

perhaps.

"He might make another try at us soon through a third
party and there is always the possibility

he might try to expose us to the stations personnel.",
said Bokat still admiring the art as he

spoke.

Madon paused in thought at Bokat`s words.

"I am certain he knows nothing of our mission", said
Madon, turning to look up to Glinn Bokat as

she spoke.

Bokat shook his head negatively. "There is no threat
of him knowing exactly who and what we are

but he had become suspicious of our motives. The
methods of the Obsidian Order under such

circumstances are clouded, it is hard to read his
intent. It would be childishly simple of course

if he would come after us himself."

Madon agreed. "Not his style at all I think", she
added. "We must be aware that he might surface

at anytime though, it might be neccesary to eliminate
him the first chance we get".

Bokat nodded. "Of course, if I come across his trail I
will hunt him down like a Slith K'silk and

destroy him." He cracked his knuckles with a frown.

"That`s one thing I have always liked about you
Bokat", said Madon with a smile, "Such a ruthless

& eficient Cardassian you are"

(Reply Bokat, IYW)

"I will need to check on our man in medical shortly, I
will trust you to report back as soon as

you know more of this contact of yours", said Madon,
"Or any other development of course", she

added.

Glinn Bokat simply nodded & then left Madon to carry
out his intended plan.

"That`s one thing I have always liked about you
Bokat", Councilor Madon said with a smile, "Such

a ruthless & eficient Cardassian you are"

Bokat let a glimmer of humor show through his eyes at
the compliment but then throttled it as he

turned more fully to Madon and came to within just a
few feet of her. To emphasize his point he

leaned down slightly. "There is one other thing we can
do to take care of Tamin that will cause

us the least amount of effort as well as him the
greatest amount of trouble should he decide to

take his concerns to the officers of this station."

(Reply: Madon if you want)

"Quite simple." Bokat did smile now. "We should have
it leaked to the commanding officers that we

know Tamin to be of the Obsidian order and suspect him
of plotting an attempt to derail the peace

efforts we are working so hard to solidify. I prefer
to be proactive rather than reactive as it

tends to be far more efficient. I have set up the
meeting tonight with my contact, if all goes

well we should be far on our way to infiltrate any
attempts he might make against us. You

mentioned the one you took to be of the proper
security clearance, I hope he is worth the

trouble." With that he let his face harden again in
his disappointment their plans had gone awry

in that area.

"I will need to check on our man in medical shortly, I
will trust you to report back as soon as

you know more of this contact of yours", said Madon,
"Or any other development of course", she

added.

Bokat nooded simply and turned for the door, in
another eleven hours he should know something

concrete.

His head hitting the panel and a large bruse appearing

Mackenzie-08:44)

As Kaitlyn now sat working on the Cardassian
physiology, she heard the swish of the doors open

and looked up. In a way she hoped it was a
distraction to get her out of reports, but she also

hoped no one was hurt as well.

She stood up and stretched, then walked up to the
crewman who had entered. She recognized him

from the meeting at realized she'd seen him several
times in engineering and with Rogers.

"E...Excuse me, Lt. Commander. I... I was working and
I accidently hurt hit my ear..."

She was about to say something, when the crewman
continued.

"...then hit my head..." he said, pointing to the
large bruse on his forehead, "...then I cut my

hand. Can you help me, if you... you have time?"

Her smile suddenly faded, but she tried to reassure
him.

"Sure. Have a seat on biobed 3 and I'll be right
back." As Kaitlyn went to grab her tricorder,

dozens of thoughts raced through her mind. She'd
recognized this sort of behavior before.

Timid, shy, stammering ....not to mention how someone
could 'accidentally' injure themselves so

badly and no one else in engineering be hurt.

Coming back, she opened the tricorder and scanned him.
It read that he had a contusion on his

head, a lacarated palm and a punctured ear. Though
the wounds were in different places, Kaitlyn

knew this wasn't no accident. Someone had to have
done this. There had to be force exerted at

the person to create such happenings. One just didn't
.....run into something like a bulkhead

and create this.

"Alright Jason.....I can fix you right up." She
grabbed a hypospray with an analgesic in it to

help with the pain. As she went to administer it to
him, he flinched away from her.

"It's ok, this is just for the pain." All the warning
signs were there, and she knew she would

have to get a counsellor in on this after she
discharged him.

Fixing his wounds weren't the hard part. The hard
part was trying to figure out how she could

get him to open up to her....or if he even would.
Deciding to give it a try, she said quietly,

"Jason....who did this to you?"

<<Reply Miller>>

At first she noticed his apprehension to tell her.

"I'll be alright. Just let me know who did this to
you and I'll make sure it won't happen again

<<Reply Miller>>

He finally decided to open up a bit, and he told her
the name. ~Jenkins....Jenkins.....oh yes.

away 24/7.~

Her thoughts drifted, then she shook her head and
looked at Miller. "Ok, you're free to go, but

....I'm going to relieve you of duty for the first

"Alright Jason... I can fix you right up." She said
moving into to inject him, but he backed

Miller nodded and let her inject him. When she was
done, she asked, "Jason... who did this to

you?"

"I told you, it was an accident, Commander," Jason
sad.

After a short pause, "I'll be alright. Just let me
know who did this to you and I'll make sure

it won't happen again."

Jason put his head down and muttered, "Jenkins... it

After landing his shuttle Gr'iann ignored the plethora
of crewmen that asked him post flight

questions. He had ordered them to secure his shuttle
and contact him in medical if there was any

problems. He ran to the turbo lift and then into the
medical center. Brushing past the rest of

the staff, who were calling out welcomes, he made his
way first to Casely's bed.

He looked up at the biobed's readings, and noted that
his life signs were stable. He appeared to

be in a small amount of pain that was being caused by
a broken femur, that had to be surgically

repaired. But there was something else there that he
couldn't put a finger on it. He finally

looked down into Paul Casely's face and could see him
looking up at him.

Instantly his face broke into a toothy smile and his
bedside manner took hold. "Well, well,

well, Lieutenant, it looks like I can't get away forr
a few days without you getting yourrself

into somme kind of trrouble."

(reply Casely)

Gr'iann put a gentle paw on Casely's shoulder and
nodded. "Just rrelax Paul, I'll find out

what's going on."

He turned and found Kaitlyn treating an engineer. As
the man left Gr'iann stalked up behind the

ACMO. "Kaitlyn, what's been going on around herre?
What happened to Paul?" He shook himself

and took a breath. "I'm sorry. Lt. Commmanderr, give

She watched as Ensign Miller left, sure that what he
was facing was embarassment enough to have

to go through what he was. As she was about to charge
her way to engineering, someone put a

hand....~Paw~ on her shoulder.

"Admiral! It's great to see you again!" She could
sense he was just as happy to see her too.

"Kaitlyn, what's been going on around herre? What
happened to Paul?" He shook himself and took

a breath. "I'm sorry. Lt. Commmanderr, give mme a

"Of coarse," she said, as she let her anger subside
for the moment. As they went into a secluded

part where they could talk freely, she filled him in
on the Cardassians being there, the accident

that happened to Paul and his vocal chords and the
away mission.

"And....now I have an appointment with a specific
engineer. I'll be back soon," she said, as she

headed out the doors.

Kaitlyn could tell the Admiral was feeling better.
She realized she missed him after he had been

gone for so long, and hoped they would be able to talk
later.

Crossing her arms over her chest, she said, "I'd very
much like to see Jenkins in my medical

<<Reply McLaren>>

She thought it humorous that a lot of people found her
intimidating. She only hoped it worked on

this man for what he did to Miller. There

was no reason for it.

Happy that McLaren had let Jenkins go with her, she
herself grabbed him by the arm and led him

"What I want, Mr. Jenkins, is to explain to me your

As he started to get defensive, Kaitlyn cut him off

wasn't that hard to tell based on his

<<Reply Jenkins>>

Getting out her tricorder, she tried to keep her anger

that there was any cause for Jenkins' actions, but she
wanted to make sure nothing was wrong with

his mental status medically.

"You seem to be in perfect health. Now....I suggest
you stop doing what you're doing. You're a

<<Reply Jenkins>>
She noticed that Jenkins was starting to get angry
with her, and she hoped he would.
"I want you to sit here and think about what could've

contusion on his head among other things, but he
could've suffered more damage than that." She

set her tricorder back down on one of the tables next
to her.
Staring at Jenkins, she watched his face fall as she
contacted Rogers.
"Mackenzie to Rogers. I need to see you in the

<<Reply Rogers>>

She felt bad for waking him from his sleep, but there
was no way she could relieve Jenkins of

duty if he had nothing wrong with him medically.
However, Rogers was a counsellor and in command

at the moment, and she knew he could pronounce him
unfit for duty.
"Well Mr. Jenkins....I suggest you make yourself
comfortable while we wait on Ensign Rogers to

Getting down in his face and looking him right in the

"Yes, what is the problem?" Brian asked.

"I'm not sure if you want to handle this as a command

It seemed like Gr'iann had dropped himself into the
middle of a nest of dargbat bugs. Nasty

little devils. Once they get the idea of stinging
you, they don't give up. And they keep on

stinging you, over and over again. He watched Kaitlyn
as she left the room. He could still

appreciate the view, but with his hormones regulated,
it was just normal healthy appreciation.

The desire to throw her down and mate with her had
been excised, mostly.

Having recieved the report he wanted he went back to
look in on Casely again. As he did his own

poking and prodding and reading of bio-sensor reports
he began to subconsciously purr. It had

been known to have a calming affect on his patients,
especially younger ones. He looked down to

see that Casely's eyes were beginning to droop. The
Caitian smiled at the sight.

"Rrest easy, mmy frriend," Gr'iann said softly. "I'll
get to the bottomm of this prroblemm."

(reply Casely)

He looked through the doorway to the room that Kaitlyn
was in. He also saw Rogers there. He

shook his head. ~Rogers is in charge. How things
have changed in my absence.~ He knew though,

that if a real problem arose before Arriana returned,
that he could exert his influence and take

command of the station.

His ears perked up as he tried to hear what was going
on. As sharp as his ears were, he could

only pick up little snippets. Apparently the engineer
they were talking to had something to do

with the injuries of the other engineer that had been
in earlier. He saw Kailtlyn looking over

at him and smiled back with a nod. He could tell she
was not going to let this matter just drop.

He could also tell that there was still some residual
emotional attachment to the ACMO. But

with his body chemistry back in balance, and knowing
that there was no interest on her side, he

would be able to restrain himself from any further
embarrassments on both their parts.

Gr'iann looked down to see Casely starting to stir
again. Gr'iann put a paw on his shoulder and

purred again. "Rrest, everrything is alrright. I'll
let you know if anything happens."

He stepped away from Casely and went over to the
doorway to listen to the rest of the

conversation. He also wanted to make sure that Ensign
Rogers didn't leave without talking to

him.

"Where is Mr. Miller now?"

"I've relieved Miller of duty for the first half of

"Well, this is a serious problem," Brian said aloud

"For now, I'm ordering Mr. Jenkins to thiry days in
the Brig. There will be futher punishment,

but I will need to speak with Ensign McLaren, since he
is your direct superior officer. Do you

need to be escorted to to the Brig?" Brian asked in a
stern voice to Jenkins.

"No, sir," Jenkins said, standing up and walking out.
Brian shook his head and tapped his comm

"Rogers to Security. We've got a Mr. Jenkins reporting

doesn't arrive, notify me and begin the proper

Her attention span was back when Brain smiled at both

Listening to the details Gr'iann talked about, she

Politely, she said, "Thanks for coming down here," to

Rogers dealt with the Jenkins and his consequences for

lucky to still be in the fleet. But to expect

the man to report in without escort... now there's
something new. He'd be intrigued to see how

soon the man, if ever, reports to the brig. He
figured that there's be a search by lunch time.

Roger's face turned to a smile as he turned to face

After imbibing herself of the particularly nasty slop
that passed as Cardassian delicacy, Madon

stood & left her quarters. Her imediate destination
now was Geneva`s medical centre, for it was

time now to check in on their newly aquired ally.

Walking towards the turbolift on the diplomatic deck,
Madon was suddenly aware once again of

other peoples stares as she walked by, it was a common
enough thing for her to experience but it

annoyed her nonetheless. She however chose to remain
in an apparent state of nonconcern over

their attitudes.

Two of Geneva`s crewmembers had been talking outside
the turbolift as Madon approached & each of

them stopped imediately they saw her.

"Is there anything I can help you with?", said Madon
sharply. They both shook their heads,

babbled something or other & then tried their best to
smile at the council members question, but

the truth was they felt somewhat ill at ease in her
presence.

Madon turned her attention away from them, entered the
turbolift & imediately spoke as the doors

slid shut.

"Medical centre please", she said curtly & the lift
was on it`s way.

again, Madon ignored their looks of quiet unease at
her presence as she walked towards the

medical centre.

Once there, she imediately entered through the glass
doors which had slid apart silently upon her

approach. She then stood still, surveying the interior
of the centre for some sign of Dufrane.

As she walked forwards, she became aware of a section
leading off from the main room, she could

clearly see into it & recognised Casely lying upon a
biobed being tended to by one of the medics.

A smile crossed her lips as she walked on towards
Dufrane as he worked at a small desk & console

at the side of the room.

"I was wondering if I might be able to receive some
form of analgesic to relieve some pain I am

experiencing", said Madon, touching the unsuspecting
Dufrane upon the shoulder as she spoke.

Dufrane imediately turned to see her, standing up as
he did.

(Reply Dufrane)

The medic looked around nervously as though unsure of
what others would think of her being here.

"Do you have anything that I would wish to be made
aware of?", said Madon with a look that

clearly showed her real reason for being here. "Lt
Casely`s condition & prognosis perhaps, or

anything else you might like to add", said Madon
looking directly & unflinchingly into Dufranes

eyes as she spoke.

(Reply Dufrane)

"That is interesting", said Madon, "If there is
anything else that comes to light, please be sure

to appraise me", she added, as she put out her hand
towards him.

Dufrane looked puzzled as to her actions, Madon
however imediately clarrified.

"The analgesic pain relief", she said with a smile,
"that is why I came in here after all", she

added.

(Reply Dufrane)

Dufrane then handed her what she required & she was
once again on her way.

Vic was watching Dr. Mackenzie, trying to figure out
what she was doing, when he felt something

on his shoulder. He jumped and turned around, and saw
Madon standing there.

"Do you have anything that I would wish to be made
aware of? Lt Casely`s condition & prognosis

perhaps, or anything else you might like to add?" She
asked.

"Well, um.... the furry being, from Cait, he's an...
uh... Admiral. He's returned from a trip of

some sort. Casely is doing well, and communicating
with the female doctor, Mackenzie, threw typed

words. I believe they are going to try to see why he
cannot speak. Also, the some humans in

Engineering were attacking each other," Dufrane said.

"That is interesting", said Madon, "If there is
anything else that comes to light, please be sure

to appraise me." She said before holding her hand out.
Vic stared at it, he was confused and

didn't know what she meant.

"The analgesic pain relief, that is why I came in here
after all," she said with a smile. Vic

breathed out. He was still jumpy, even with his 'new
friend' inside his head. He reached for a

hypospray and handed it to the Cardassians and watched
her walk out.

Kass could not believe her ears. First Brian doesn't
want her to report and now only minutes

from the meeting, he does. She had not even compiled
her notes on what happened during the

interview, which, would probably take at least an
hour. She guessed that was what happened when

you have to leave an ensign in charge of a large

"Ensign Denuve, I guess we will have to finish this

Kass informed the Ensign with an apologetic smile.

"No Problem Sir, Tomorrow will be good for me." Denuve
replied then got up and left the room.

Kass had no time to head back to her office to

"Computer end counseling program." Kass said as she

Reading notes off the PADD in her left hand, she

physical condition. The only problem I seem to be
having at the moment is determining why his

vocal chords aren't working properly. I have run
several scans, most check out normal, although

one did display a somewhat pinched nerve that could be
his problem." She paused, then said, "

Since Admiral Gr'iann is back aboard, I would also
like his input before continuing with my plan

<<Reply Rogers, Gr'iann>>

She took a deep breath, then continued on with her
other reports.

"About the Cardassian biology....I hate to say it, but
not a lot has changed. Everything about

them is the same in their term. They prefer darker,
warmer climates and sometimes shed their

scales before getting new. Other than their shedding,
they're not completely any different than

most. Although I can't say for sure what you are

Knowing Casely was the one who orginally asked her for

~But Cardassian's are common around here.~ Or so she
thought. Sitting back, she waited to see

if Rogers had anything more for her to add.

(Starbase Geneva, Observation Lounge, COUNS/A3O,
Ensign {SG} Brian Rogers, 1312)

Brian listened to Kaitlyn's report then nodded. "Very
good. Do you have a exact date on how long

before Lt. Casely is back up and fit for command?"
Brian asked

(reply Gr'iann and Mackenzie)

"Okay," Brian said. That was still a lot longer than
he hoped. He then turned to Chandler and

Klars.

"Alright, Ensigns Chandler and Klars, do you wish to
present your findings on the investigation

so far?" Brian asked

(Starbase Geneva-Observation Lounge-ACMO Lt. Cmdr.
Kaitlyn Mackenzie-1313)

Kaitlyn had just finished giving the presentation on
both Casely's medical condition and the

Cardassian biology.

"Very good. Do you have a exact date on how long
before Lt. Casely is back up and fit for

command?" Brian asked

"I can't tell for sure. If the exploratory surgery
goes well, it should be within a day or two.

If not, and it's a problem that needs further
tracking, it could be a week. He's my top priority

right now."

"Okay," Brian said.

Just from the way he said the word, "Okay," she could
tell it wasn't the news he wanted to hear.

She hoped to of coarse make Casely well as soon as she
could, but with so many things going on,

she wondered how she could. ~I'm glad Gr'iann's
back.~ She needed the help badly.

"Alright, Ensigns Chandler and Klars, do you wish to
present your findings on the investigation

so far?" Brian asked.

Turning to face them, Kaitlyn awaited their
presentation.

(Starbase Geneva-Observation Lounge-CMO Admiral
Gr'iann -1314)

"Since Admiral Gr'iann is back aboard, I would also
like his input before continuing with my plan

to do exploratory surgery."

Gr'iann nodded. "I've alrready done somme
prrelimminarry tests, and I think we definitely need

to put ourr heads togetherr beforre any surrgerry."

Kaitlyn went on with her report about the Cardassian
anatomy. he wondered what it was that

Rogers was looking for, after all, this information
was not restricted, and not uncommon. Rogers

changed his track, asking when the medics thought that
Casely would be back in action. Again

Kaitlyn brought up the surgery.

Gr'iann was having a lot of doubts about this
"exploratory surgery". It sounded so medievil.

But Kaitlyn was putting a lot of stock in it. Perhaps
it was just his Caitian side coming out,

but there was so much one could tell using scans and
body imaging. He wanted to do as much with

that before actually opening Paul's body. After all,
it's only been a day.

But he kept his mouth closed. This wasn't the time to
bring up a difference of professional

opinion. Later, when they were alone, Gr'iann would
have time to talk to Kaitlyn. Besides, as

he understood it, they were in the process of building
a voice generator for the FO.

Gr'iann brought his attention back around to the table
when Rogers asked Klars and Chandler for

their report.
