A Farewell to Things, Day 2, Stardate2406.03.04 2019-12-04
Stardate:2406.03.04 (CRF- Deck 34- FSCO- Lt. Tahlmari- Day 2- 2406.03.04.1405 hrs) Mission: A Farewell to Things, Day 2, Stardate2406.03.04 Tahl went back to the monitor. After a qucik search he saw something else that made it all make sense, in a sick, nonsensicle way. The computer was running the simulation with all of the characters, save one. There was nobody in the character of Sinia. She had been eradicated from the simulation. the problem with that was that she was the one who found and disarmed the bomb. Without her in the program, there is no way to stop the explosion. Tahl stepped awy from the computer for a moment to gather his thoughts. What to do, what to do. He looked over at Bell, Fugan B'Lanor, and finally at Alexandra Lowell. At first sight of Alex his heart began to pound. He wanted to reach out and hold her. No, that was Sinia, and he was Bono. No, that was the simulation. These feelings are from the simulation. Aren't they? They seemed to real to be simulated emmotions. ~Stay focused Tahl.~ "That's it," Tahl cried out. "The computer is unable to tell the difference between reality and simulation. It doesn't know the difference. to it, they are both two different versions of the same reality. So it has crossed them over. The reality of the simulation has become real world reality." (reply any) "If I can create a simulation of Sinia, to find and dispose of the bomb, then hopefully it will shut down the reaction we're seeing here." (reply any, ifyw) Tahl went back to the computer. His hands flew across the screen. It didn't don on him that everything he was reading and writing was in T'Kon. But the computer picked it up pretty quick. A view screen came on so that Tahl and the others could monitor the progress of the simulation. After a few minutes, Tahl's headache began to rage. Suddenly Sinia appeared in the screen. She was, however, quite imobile. It was like a paper doll stuck to the scene. After a couple more minutes she became more animated. "Unfortunately, with time limit it have, that's the best I can do. Now we have to figure out where the bomb is." Alexandra Lowell - Day 2- 2406.03.04.1410 hrs) Alexandra got up and look at Tahl, a sense of warmth ran all over her body, to the point that she had difficulty to focus on what he was saying... until she word the word bomb. She could hear underneath her feet explosions, after explosions. "If I can create a simulation of Sinia, to find and dispose of the bomb, then hopefully it will shut down the reaction we're seeing here." "The labs is getting destroyed, are all the system of the station link to this simulation?" Tahl went back to the computer but he didn't seem to hear, concentrate on what he was doing. His hands flew across the screen. It didn't don on him that everything he was reading and writing was in T'Kon. But the computer picked it up pretty quick. Alexandra look beside him what he was doing, and saw that he was reading T'Kon, that was frighting her a little. ~That simulation did something, but what?~ A view screen came on so that Tahl and the others could monitor the progress of the simulation. After a few minutes, Tahl's headache began to rage. Suddenly Sinia appeared in the screen. She was, however, quite imobile. It was like a paper doll stuck to the scene. After a couple more minutes she became more animated. Alexandra closed her eyes and tried to remember Sinia's thoughts but the presence of Tahl so close was causing some major distraction. She took a few steps away and turn her back, force herself to look at another computer terminal. It came with a flash. "Unfortunately, with time limit it have, that's the best I can do. Now we have to figure out where the bomb is." "I think I know... Engineering, is where the last battle was. It's the place the captain locked himself in. Bell, Fugan, we are going to need your help!" Alexandra was already running toward the nearest turbolift. RPG Alexandra look around for a second, it felt so weird to be in the real station again. Now she knew it so well because it held so many memories but there weren't her own. "Computer, Lt. Comdr. Lowell, Beta nine epsilon, Red alert, emergency transport all personel back to the USS Cochrane, at the exception of Lt. Tahlmari, Ensign B'Lanor, Lt. Bell and myself." [Authorisation confirm, emergency transporter engage] Alexandra tap her combadge. "Lt. Comdr. Lowell to Lt. Tore'Len'Chi, once everyone is on board, get the USS Cochrane out of the sector and maintain a transporter lock on us. To explain this order, there a silent bomb or bombs on board the Station, Lt. Tahlmari, Ensign B'Lanor, Lt. Bell and myself will go an try to disarm. Give us fifteen minutes and like it or not transport us, unless you read that we are in danger, in this case you take us out of here." (Reply Tore'Len'Chi) "Good! Lowell out!" Suddenly a sound came out of the door of the stations power source. A voice that made Alexandra took a deep breath. "Come on and fight me... I have been waiting for so long for this revenge Lt. Comdr. Lowell. Can't use... what do you call them... phasers, yes, can't use phasers in here." Alexandra look at Bell, Fugan and Tahlmari. "Captain Sinoival!" (Reply if any) Then the same voice, but at a different location. Alexandra went to the Tactical station in engineering. Commander Lowell entered a door near to the tactical station, emerging with two staff weapons, she turned to Bell and Fugan. "Find that or those bombs! We will take care of them, at least try." "Yes sir" Fugan replied Fugan moved over towards the power source, attempting to predict where the most logical location to place a bomb or bombs would be. "Lt. Bell are you able to remmember from the simulation where your character placed the bombs before you fought with Lt Commander Lowells character?" Tahlari- Day 2406.03.04.1415 hrs) Mission: A Farewell to Things, Day 2, Stardate 2406.03.04 Tahl hoped that the animated Sinia would act accordingly. He had tried to tie it in with the activities of Alexandra. Now he was beginning to think that might have been an error. After a few seconds of searching for the where an explosive might be a voice came out. "Come on and fight me... I have been waiting for so long for this revenge Lt. Comdr. Lowell. Can't use... what do you call them... phasers, yes, can't use phasers in here." Tahl looked around but saw nobody. The voice was familiar. The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end. "Captain Sinoival!" Alex almost shouted. ~But how? That captain's been dead for centuries.~ The next thing Tahl knew was Alex handing him a fighting staff. It was the same weapon he had seen Sinia using in the simulation. She ordered Bell and B'Lanor to find the bombs while they took care of this problem. Tahl moved the staff around in his hands. He had never used one before, but he felt as if he'd used it all his life. The balance was incredible. He spun it around once and got into a fighting position. Then, out of the corner of his eye he saw some motion. He ducked and rolled across the floor as a blade barely missed him. For a moment he saw something, then it was gone. He looked down at his shiirt and saw that it had been sliced. ~A little too close.~ Then he saw it appear again, this time heading for Alexandra. "Now I've got you!" It was Sinoival, but the look on her face was horrific. "After all this time, finally you will die." Tahl couldn't believe it. How Tahl knows to use the staff. We never practice Kendo or anbo-jytsu.~ Alexandra heard laughing, aware that now the captain was going to come after her. I seem to be her pattern. She installed them, and they would have turned on if the simulation was stop in the middle. That is why the hologuardian insisted that he went through it until the end. The guardian knew about the program, that is why... I was set up. He got me ready for this, he studied me, he saw a chance to get ride of Sinoival's program because it was putting him danger, he couldn't say anything because his hands were virtually tied." Alexandra was angry not to have seen this. (Reply Tahl) Alexandra heard the laugh to her right but didn't make a move toward it. She knew that this was a tactic to get her out of her concentration and away from Tahl. Still, the captain didn't show herself. "That isn't the worst Tahl. Captain Sinoival said my name, not Sinia, if she is an holographic program attach to the computer. I practice every two days in an holodeck, I go against the computer, it learns... do you understand... You and me are fighting me? "Don't try to think or be logical about this. Let your instincts guide you." ~Don't be logical?~ Tahl laughed out loud. "What is logical about this?" But he took her words to heart and let his body move insitinctively. The captain took two swings at Alexandra then disappeared. "Tahl, what did you do?" Tahl was as surprised as she was. "Nothing! Honest." The wheels in his head started to turn. Then the thought hit him. What if the captain were not really here. What if it were a photonic being? A hologram produced by the computer. But the reactions were to real. The feelings were too ... . He had to get to a computer terminal. But as he turned there was Sinoival in front of him. "I don't think so," she said waving a finger. The blade struck straight for Tahl's heart. "You may have survived my first attempt to kill you, but not now." Instinct took over and Tahl paried and blocked at the onslaught attack. Suddenly he saw an opening and struck. The moment before the blade end of the staff struck the captain disappeared again with a laugh. Tahl new that he had to get to a terminal. If his suspicion was right he would not be able to get a straight answer from the computer with the oral interface. You can't kill a hologram, but you can end his program. Not directly though. The best we can do is hold Sinoival off, and not let her kill us. To stop her I'll need to hit her at her program, or come up with something that will disrupt her photonic cohesion. Of course. "Alex," he said to her. Try and keep her busy for about one minute. None of your actions will work against me." The holo-captain appeared a few meters away from her, but Alexandra suddenly acted like in pain, she made a grin closing tigh her eyes. Immidiately after, she looked at the captain with her most vicious smile and said softly. "Well, well, well! I hope the second time will be just has sweet has the first." "What?" The captain seem a little bit confuse by the change of attitude in Alexandra. "Don't you recognise the soul of your enemy. I found a way to be back amoung the living." Alexandra took a deep breath and appeared enjoying breathing again. "A nice body, perfect health!" "It's impossible. It's against the law..." "After you died, they discovered what you have done, pretty ingenious. What do you think the council would do? They are the one which made this possible for me, and they erase all trace of what they done, at the exception of one... the Guardian. Watching over the station, and this for over 30 000 years. Waiting for someone that could deal with you. Do you think the T'Kon empire would let you desecrate the memories of them... Face it Sinoival, Sinia Karsuna is back from the dead. Hopefully, this fight will be better then the first. You were really pitiful." "I WILL KILL YOU ALL!" She screamed on the top of her lungs. Alexandra suddenly realise that she maybe went to far, because the expression on Sinoival's face was of pure fury, and more ferocious then last time. The fight began, and to Alexandra's relief, the captain seem impervious about Tahl's where abouts, but it wasn't to reassure her because now he was out of her sight. ~You better hurry Tahl... Tahlmari- Day 2- 2406.03.04.1420 hrs) Tahl heard the heated word exchange behind him and the clash of weapons. He hated leaving Alex to deal with the holographic Sinoival alone, but what he had in mind he had to get to a computer terminal. He wasn't sure what Alex said the dead captain but she certainly was occupied. He had to move fast. He made his way to a terminal and got to work. He immediately went into the holoemitter program. What he needed to do is give Alex a mental edge over the hologram. He found the buffer that contained Sinoival's program. ~My, my she has been working on this for a long time.~ There were gigaquads of information in the program. But he only had to find one piece. And there it was. Now a moment to get past the security lock outs. Tahl almost laughed at the simplicity of the lock out. "It's a good thing I've been able to retain this information," Tahl said to himself. then he realized that perhaps it was the design of the computer that he retained it. He patted the console, "Thanks old girl." Now he was past the lock out and had full access to the holoemitters. With a few swift commands he took away the hoolograms ability to disappear and reappear. He also gave it a little more substance. This way the blows from Alex will hurt it. She can't actually kill it but it might give her a psychological edge. Then there was coup d'grass. He added a few lines to the program so that when it is struck it will actually bleed. Photonic blood, true, but again, it was a psychological edge he was looking for. Next he went into the regeneration program and discontinued the continuity of the hologram. Now, once it was shut down it would be shut down for good. Now to disconect the program. That was the strangest part. It seemed to be running on an independant power source. Almost as if it had a mobile emitter. There must be a power source from somewhere. Or at least a way to cut of the power supply. Alexandra Lowell - Day 2- 2406.03.04.1421 hrs) Alexandra from time to time tried to hit the captain but she always manage that parts of her would disappear. Alexandra wanted to make her more occupied despite that she was hit half a douzen times and that she receive a hit at her jaw which made her mouth bleed. "Computer, play music program of combat Lowell 2. Play it to a background sound." Alexandra smiled to the captain. "That is much, much better. Rock rules!" The captain got more angry, but Alexandra found her rythm. Suddenly, Alexandra saw the opportunity to hit her and she took it. The captain flew in the air landing five meters away. ~Good work Tahl!~ The captain seem to be desoriented for a moment, wondering what just happen, but when she saw Alexandra coming with a corner smile close to amusement, she put herself in combat position and they had it again. "It hurts isn't it? Good! I have some score to settle with you... a little bit of justice will not hurt." The fight continued, after a few moves, Alexandra found an openning and hit the captain who landed on her side. "This is for Sinia and Bono" She attack the captain again who got up and charge her. "This is for the twins that lost their father." Alexandra gave her a hit in the stomach. "This is for me and Tahl." The blade hit the arm of the captain and it bled. "How can this be?" She growled, but put herself in the fight position. "Right now, I don't have time. I have not finish yet." Alexandra and the captain had it out for the last time and suddenly after having taken herself a few blow and near miss from the blade, she disarmed the captain and hit it making her land nearly at the same spot that Sinia had the first time around. Alexandra pushed away the staff, and will the captain was regaining her senses she took the handcuff and immobilised her to a beem near the door. "Tahl, she is secure now. Bell, Fugan, did you find anything?" Alexandra sit on the nearest chair she could find to rest for a moment and rube where she as been hit. He conducted a short ranged scan and detected a tri-cobalt signature, along with a small detonator. ~The captain of this station was a most resourceful individual~ Fugan thought to hiself as he conducted a more detailed scan "Tahl, she is secure now. Bell, Fugan, did you find anything?" Fugan heard Lt.Comdr. Lowell voice from across engineering. "I belive i may have located one of the devices Lt.Comdr. Lowell however the detonator seems to be linked to several more such devices and they require to be deactivated simultaneously.
