Sasha looked at the purplish sphere scowling. After all the confusion in
the former CO's quarters, Sasha was looking forward to heading to her
quarters for a nap and a relaxing mug of tea, so she would be refreshed for
the Senior Staff's meeting. But instead she was back in the science labs,
becoming increasingly frustrated.

From what preliminary scans had shown, this sphere was a complex piece of
technology capable of affecting peoples brain patterns, it was made of a
highly complex material, that seemed to either naturally prevent scanning,
or it had been designed with shielding. Either way Sasha couldn't scan
beyond the surface of the sphere, to see exactly how it worked.

Logic dictated that the sphere would have had to been programmed, but she'd
be damned if she could find out how. She couldn't detect and minute
consoles, buttons or anything to suggest how it was programmed. The
material the sphere was made from meant any attempts at smashing it were
futile, but even if she could she wouldn't. She'd work this sphere out or
go insane trying.

Looking at the time she swore, she had to finish her reports before the
meeting...She would put the sphere under constant scans to see if anything
changed, but Sasha had a sneaking suspicion it would take more than her
intelligence to work this mysterious sphere out.

(Starbase Geneva - Sickbay - aCMO du Pounte - 14.16)

"Is that all? Here." Francais said as he pushed a few buttons and
changed the vial on the hypospray in his Medkit, then he handed the officer
the hypospray with a light tranquilizer mixed into the medication. "Stop
back in at sickbay very soon!" Francais added.

"Hang on there!" the man shouted, stopping Francais in his tracks.
"Do you know who I am?"

        "Uhhh, no." Francais answered.

"I am your boss, I am!" the officer said as he raised his voice and
grabbed his right collar to show him his pips.

Francais stared at the man. ~ He's definitely unbalanced. ~
Francais thought.

"Huh? I KNOW I put them on this morning! I KNOW I did. Anyway, you
can ask the FO, she'll vouch for me!"

"Yes, sir. What ever you say." Francais answered.

The man sighed, then continued, "I take your point. I wonder where
the pips are, though. I distinctly remember me putting them on.....Sjeesh."
Then the man got on his hands and knees before jumping back up again.
"Nope, no dust there, not even under the beds. Well done, Ensign."

The man then injected the hypospray into his arm. "Thank you for
this," he said to the medic, returning the hypo to Francais and smiled.
"But I won't keep you any longer. Lise......Commander Arianna told me that
you were a bit understaffed. Ensign."

Aragorn nodded politely as he quickly made his way out of sickbay.

"Yes, sir. Thank you, sir." Francais said. ~That man has a lot of
problems. I guess you never get used to them all. My boss is he? ~

(Starbase Geneva, Tresors du Tresin, SPC Kia Tresin, 14.57)

"I see!" The woman exclaimed. "I actually have quite a backlog of holodeck
hours built up - you see, my husband's been ill and has only today returned
to active duty. So four holodeck hours will be no problem. How do we work
this? Do I assign them to you and then you assign them to Ensign
Letch? Or do I contact her direct?"

Kia smiled, "Just merely assign them to me, and I'll pass them over
accordingly. If you don't mind, that is the simplest way."

The woman nodded. "That sounds fine. Could you arranged to have it
delivered for me? To..." Kia watched as she pulled a PADD from her bag.

"To here?" The woman said as she pointed to an address on the PADD.

"By about 17.30? I'd like to make sure it's there when Ar- uh... my
husband gets home."

Kia looked at the woman sceptical, the husband had just returned to duty,
this very day , and his name started with Ar-... ~Surely it can't be!~ Kia
thought to herself, her mind racing.

"Absolutely! I'll see that it's there." Kia responded. ~Personally~ She
thought with a glint in her eye.

"Good. And thank you, I'm sure I'll be a regular customer here! You have
such lovely things!"

Kia smiled. "I'm glad. I hope to see you again soon." Kia spoke. ~Much
sooner if that husband of yours really is who I think.~ Kia thought evilly.

(Starbase Geneva, Conference Room, CSO Lee, 15:10)

Sasha sat toward the back of the conference and stifled a yawn. It wasn't
that the Captain was boring her, but she hadn't had much sleep and it was
taking its toll.

Thankfully she didn't seem to be the only one who didn't seem quite on the
ball. Lise seemed to be very distracted staring at the Captain with a
dreamy far away look. ~What on earth is that about~, Sasha thought to herself.

Sasha zoned out most of the conference only taking note of important
highlights. When it came her turn to introduce herself she did so quickly
and efficiently.

"Hello Captain, I am Sasha Lee, Geneva's Chief Science Officer. My
department is currently working on two major projects, one involving the
Een and one involving the former CO...my full report is on your desk,
however as these projects are looking to be long-term before any
significant developments are made they are really only preliminary reports."

Sitting back down, Sasha wished she had had time to fit in that nap. She
was about to zone out again when the next officer stood up. Sasha didn't
recognise the Bolian, but that wasn't what concerned Sasha...It was his title.

"Hi, Captain. I'm Ensign Roft. The BRAND NEW counselor of this station. I
take it you were a counselor as well, somewhere in your career. You invited
crew to ask help from you and me. I don't want you to exclude yourself from
that invitation. My door is open to you too. Don't take offense in what I
say. I'm merely implying that everyone needs someone to talk to from time
to time and I would be glad to help in any way."

Sasha sat in shock...there was a new counselor..of course she expected it
but it was so unexpected that the pain of Carlos leaving came back in a
rush almost suffocating her in its dark depths.

Sasha bit her lip to prevent the lone tear from sliding down her cheek and
tried to concentrate on what the Captain was saying.

"From the information I have gathered, it is my strong belief that five
months ago, a vessel from the Romulan Star Empire has attacked the USS
Nimitz and severely damaged it. The reasons for the attack are unknown to
me. It could have been a deliberate act by the Romulans or it could be that
there was a 'rogue' Romulan Captain who felt he could hit a Federation
vessel, destroy it and leave the scene without problems. The fact that at
the time the Nimitz was outside Federation territory, does not excuse the
attack."

"Of course this attack would be enough reason to declare war on the Romulan
Empire, but only IF there was proof. And I believe, ladies and gentlemen,
that proof is now on its way to Starbase Geneva!"

Sasha sat stunned for the second time in that meeting....possible
war...with the Romulans??!!! No!! her mind screamed...What if Carlos became
embroiled in the war....she couldn't bear it if her husband was to die at
the hands of the federation!

Why did he have to leave and make things complicated...Is this why Carlos's
uncle asked him to leave...did he know this was going to
happen?? Questions ran through Sasha's mind....Did Carlos know about
this...was that why he left, was he a co-conspirator?? No, not her Carlos,
he was a good man, he would never do that..would he??

Sasha shook her head as if that would clear her mind of those horrible
thoughts, and turned back to the conversation at hand.

"That reminds me, Mr Lantsa, I want you to configure the sensors so that we
will have a continuous scan of our surroundings for space dust distribution
and ion gas concentrations. Romulan cloaking technology does not make the
ships under cloak loose their mass. So wherever a cloaked ship is flying it
will push aside the particles that are in space, like gas molecules and
space dust like the wake of a ship. have the sensors look out for those
space matter concentrations. It will give us a continuous warning whether
or not there is a cloaked vessel about. Of course, we know that the ship
uses ionised gas for it's propulsion at sub-light speeds, but since we have
used that to found cloaked vessels before, they might have come up with a
defence against it. Mr.Lee, I want you to assist the Operations Officer
with reconfiguring the sensors."

"Yes Sir", Sasha responded robotically.

"Also, Mr. Lee, I want you to assist Commander Actun with his search. It is
too much of a coincidence that the former CO was taken down, just as the
Nimitz was about to return. Mr. Actun, please continue with your line of
investigation."

Sasha looked over at Actun surprised....the captain wanted her to assist in
a SFI investigation...~I wonder why she thought~, then realising the
Captain was awaiting her response, she tried to hide her shock.."Yes Sir."

Aragorn continued..."Ok, guys, let's bring this show on the road! And
remember, not a word to this to the public. If they ask you difficult
questions, make up some
answers. Dismissed!"

Sasha stood up and made a bee-line for Lantsa. She couldn't help but
notice, that she looked as starry-eyed as Lise....

Smiling, Sasha tried to get her attention. "When would you like to adjust
the sensors?"

<Reply Lantsa>

"Ok I'll see you then...."Sasha shook her head slightly at Lantsa
distracted answer.

~One down, one to go...~Sasha muttered to herself. Looking quickly around
again, she noticed Actun was talking to the Captain. Waiting for him to
finish she approached him.

"Hello Commander, when or how do you wish me to assist with your
investigation?", she asked politely.

Francais listened to the CO's speech. ~A war with the Romulans?
Again? ~ Francais thought. Then the Captain, the same man who popped into
sickbay earlier, allowed the staff to voice their concerns. "Sir, if the
Nimitz is going to be here as soon as you say, I'm going to need a large
supplement of medics and nurses. I'm understaffed as it is in Sickbay!"
Francais said.

(Reply Aragorn)

"I'll also need engineering to replicate a large amount of medical
equipment from the industrial replicators." Francais said again. He waited
for the reply.

Francais stopped Lieutenant Walker before he left the room at the
end of the meeting. "Sir," Francais said as he stopped the Security Chief,
"I know we didn't get off on the right foot. I would like to apologize and
start over. I'm Francais De L'Arc du Pounte, Acting Chief Medical Officer."
Francais said as he extended his hand.

(Starbase Geneva, Conference Room, FO Lise Arianna, 15.27)

Lise watched as Aragorn was welcoming the new counsellor. ~That must be
where he gets his compassion from! He's so used to dealing with people's
feelings!~ She sighed, lustfully as she watched him interact with the new
crewmember.

~I'll bet that he isn't surprised very often.... I wonder....~ Lise
pondered, letting her mind get lost inner thoughts. ~That IS a good idea!~
She thought mischievously. It would work, exactly and... it would get
Aragorn to herself!

Lise smiled and looked around the room, she wondered what exactly was being
discussed. She let her mind tune in to the situation at hand, but she
saved that thought, at the back of her mind, she'd act upon it as soon as
the meeting was done, that would give her a chance to have Aragorn.. to
herself.

"Now if the ship is being repaired, the crew won't be able to stay onboard.
Therefore we must make room for the Nimitz crew to sleep on the base. Now
if my information is correct, the base holds at present 325 persons. Some
of them are in transfer, some of them are traders but they are ALL taking
up space. Now the compliment of the Nimitz was about 700 people. So we will
have to find a way to house 700 people, make sure that we can provide them
with food beverages and anything else that they need. Unfortunately the
things will become cramped. Mr. Arianna, I have to pass this job over to
you. Tear down any walls that you think you need, turn the holodecks into
dormitories. The only place that you aren't allowed to use will be the
medical facilities."

Lise cringed slightly, she hated being called 'Mister' or 'Sir' well and
she hated 'Ma'am' or 'Miss' as well and 'Madame' that just had some rather
seedy connotations to it. But there was a certain protocol to be
established and maintained. However, there was nothing wrong with being
called commander was there? She paused, but, then again, the Captain knew
best, and it wasn't that bad, as long as Aragorn realised ... ~never mind~
she thought with a coy grin as her mind was let to wander again, watching
as Aragorn gave even more instructions. She would see that there was
enough room to house the Nimitz people.

"Aye, sir, I will see right to it." She answered in a no-nonsense tone that
she only hoped made her seem dedicated.

She would start on that right away. Ensuring that the work was done,
before.. play. She smiled to herself, the plan was perfect, she just
needed to get everything all set up accordingly. She thought about her
plan. Right after the meeting, she would see to it, then go about her work,
perhaps play would go before work in this tiny instance.

"Ok, guys, let's bring this show on the road! And remember, not a word to
this to the public. If they ask you difficult questions, make up some
answers. Dismissed!" Lise was one of the first people to stand up, and
she left rather quickly, she had some matters to attend to.

"Sir, if the Nimitz is going to be here as soon as you say, I'm going to
need a large supplement of
medics and nurses. I'm understaffed as it is in Sickbay!" Francais said.

Aragorn looked at the Medical Officer and nodded. "I am well aware of that
fact, Ensign. But unfortunately all crew movements I have seen sofar do not
include medical staff. They might still turn up but I wouldn't count on it.
Mr. Pitt! How many EMH's can we bring online? When we limit the computer
use to the strictest minimum for other purposes?"

(Reply Dirk)

"I'll also need engineering to replicate a large amount of medical
equipment from the industrial replicators." Francais said again.

Aragorn pulled a face. "Again a task for the Engineers," he said.
"Unfortunately we seem to be short on them as well. Now I DO know that a
number of Engineers are on the base in transit. Perhaps we can round them
up. I'll look into that, Ensign."

Aragorn nodded smiling to the ACMO, then with a grin pointed at his pips.
As he did so, he blinked at the officer.

(Starbase Geneva, FO's Office, FO Lise Arianna, 15.35)

Lise had to move rather quickly, she knew that Aragorn would be in his
office soon, but there was something that she needed to do first.

She went to the replicator and ordered a sheet of vellum and a gold pen.
Then she sat down to write. Remembering the scrawl that she had seen that
morning, she tried, with much success to imitate it exactly.

'There's more than meets the eye,
To have your queries quelled
come to where the answer lies.
The journey's path will be held
upon a tree within the green
go with haste, do not be seen.
Begin your chase at 21.00
you shall not be disappointed.'
Love, L.

Just as she was admiring the writing and seeing that she had actually
imitated with excellent accuracy the scrawl that she'd seen earlier that
morning, her commbadge sparked to life. =^= Captain Aragorn to First
Officer. Mr. Arianna, you will have to do me a favour. Could you...... =^=

Lise continued the conversation as she carefully rolled the vellum sheet
into a tiny scroll about seven centimetres in length (as that was the size
of the vellum paper that she had ordered), she tied it with a gold ribbon
and then went to the CO's office.

When she arrived in it, she noticed a small piece of note material peering
out from underneath the book she carefully moved the note back and read
it... instantly she was filled with a torrent of jealousy. Someone else had
the same idea as she.

"Look in the drawer for a nice surprise! Love, L."

The note said, Lise immediately went around to the other of the desk and
looked in the drawer and saw a small baggie of something there. ~Let's
just add to that surprise~ Lise thought to herself. As she carefully
dropped her own scroll in there. Then she closed the drawer and quickly
exited the CO's office.

~Now, I've got some other work to attend to, before my next meeting~ She
thought mischievously.

(Starbase Geneva - Ready Room - CO, Captain Aragorn - 15:55)

Lee took the PADD and placed it on the CO's desk once he was done. "Due to
the high level of security on this, I'm sorry, but I must confirm that you
are indeed the captain. I was told to look for Captain Kaneshiro, you are
most certainly not he." He sat back, "Computer, who is the captain of this
station?"

<<Captain Aragorn of Vega>>

Lee looked at Aragorn, waiting for him to confirm himself to the computer.

Aragorn, wondering what kept the Security guards, smiled and thought how he
could stall a bit more. When the silence grew intense, Aragorn cleared his
throat.

"Computer! Identify me!"

<< You are Captain Aragorn of Vega, Commanding Officer of Starbase Geneva.>>

Aragorn nodded to the Commander.

"But perhaps," he said smiling," you want some more proof? I mean, such a
high level of security...Computer! Perform a retina-scan on me and
correlate with database data."

Aragorn bent over so that the scanner could read his eye, but before it
could do it, Aragorn got back up.

"You know?" he said, " I really don't like this. I'm always concerned that
it could turn me blind or something. Silly, of course, but then again, most
fears are, don't you agree?"

Before Lee could reply, Aragorn bent over and let his eye be scanned.

Blinking heavily Aragorn sat back up and rolled his eyes. After a few
moments, the computer spoke up.

<< Retina scan result is 99.2% identical with the stored scan of Captain
Aragorn of Vega.>>

"Huh" Aragorn said astonished.

"Computer? Who am I?"

<< Captain Aragorn of Vega, Commanding Officer of Starbase Geneva. >>

"Then why is my retina scan not identical?"

<< There is a possible build up of cataract in the left eye. Because of
that, the scan was incomplete. The result is well within acceptable levels.
Medical advice regarding the cataract should be sought. >>

"Typical," Aragorn muttered, looking at the Commander.

"I'm sorry about the cataract, Commander, but is this enough proof for you?"

(reply Lee iyw)

NRPG:

iyw stands for if you wish. It means you don't have to answer if you don't
want to.

RPG:

"Anyway, Sir, The Nimitz. She is limping here under the utmost secrecy
after an attack by the Romulans. And, well.. Starfleet Command wants to
keep that as absolutely quiet as possible. Under those general running
orders, I have been placed in command of the refit, and a small team of
structural engineers is en-route with the rest of the Nimitz's new crew to
augment your engineering staff. All the crew and material information is on
the PADD, You might have noticed the..."

Lee broke off and stood, as the Ready Room doors opened.

~Isengard!~ Aragorn almost cried out as he saw his TAC/SC enter, flanked by
two more security officers. Isengard looked at him and then turned to the
Commander

"If you will come with me, Sir."

Lee crossed his arms and turned back to the CO with a deadpan expression.

Without moving much he said to the CO:"I don't give a good hot d*mn what it
is you think you are doing, but before you go dragging me off to wherever
it is you have planned, you had best get the Fleet Admiral on the phone and
confirm the idiocy behind throwing your Chief of Projects into a torture
chamber, or brig..." he directed a hard look full of malice at Isengard,
"Or wherever and whatever it is you have planned." He turned back to the
CO, "...Sir." he added a few seconds later.

Aragorn regarded the officer quietly.

"Mr. Isengard?" he asked casually, "What DO we do to possible saboteurs?"

"And to possible spies?"

(Reply Walker)

"Hmmm, I see," Aragorn said slowly.

"You see, Mr. Lee? If that is your real name. The Romulans are known to be
excellent spies. They would have a story ready to tell, just like you just
did. And if we checked it out, we would surely find everything we needed to
find. As for your Fleet Admiral, well, our boss isn't a Fleet Admiral.
She's a Rear Admiral. So I would really like to know which Fleet Admiral
you refer to. We have more than one, you know?"

"As for him vouching for you, it might be that this Fleet Admiral is legit.
And it might be that the Admiral did send out a Commander Lee. Whether or
not YOU are that Lee, remains to be seen, though. Computer! Identify
Richard Ian Lee!"

<< Lieutenant First Class Richard Ian Lee is Executive Marine Officer on
board the USS Nimitz. He is currently awaiting court martial. >>

Aragorn's eyes grew wide.

"Lieutenant? Hmmm, I see. Mr. Isengard, he is all yours."

(Starbase Geneva - Ready Room - Cmdr Richard Ian Lee - 1600)

"Lieutenant? Hmmm, I see. Mr. Isengard, he is all yours."

Lee took another step back. "Computer, Identify the USS Paladin and the
events of her arrival at Starbase Geneva on Stardate 2405.07.23"

Walker pulled his phaser, Lee kept his hands steady.

<<The USS Paladin is an alter-universe vessel that arrived through a portal
of unknown power or origin in front of Starbase Geneva on said stardate>>

Walker raised the phaser, "Sir..."

Lee ignored him. "Computer, name the command crew of that ship."

<<Captain Eva Straton, Commander Richard Ian Lee, Lieutenant Commander
Shondar Dorkin.>>

Before anyone could say anything, he said, "Status of said command crew?"

<<Captain Eva Straton is posted to Fleet Admiral Alaya : Commander 7th
Exploratory fleet, Commander Lee's orders pending confirmation as Head of
Construction and Command Liaison to Starbase Geneva and USS Nimitz,
Lieutenant Commander Dorkin is pending court-martial for assault and
battery on Starfleet Security.>>

Lee growled. "Read up on your station history, *captain*. Fleet Admiral
Alaya is who sent me, That would be your precious Rear Admiral Greeley's
boss, the head of the *FLEET*, not the Squadron. I am 1st Lieutenant
Richard Ian Lee's Temporal Double, from another time frame. If you don't
believe that, look up the station history logs, they will show in vivid
detail our arrival. Or better yet, ask the Former CO and the FO of Geneva,
they saw our arrival as well. Several of my crewman have already been
assigned throughout the squadron,"

He paused, beginning to get angry. "I'm frankly shocked that such a bone
headed idiot could take over command here and neglect to read about such
large events. So, while you confirm my orders and the fact that I do indeed
exist and that I am *supposed* to be here and setting up a fairly secret
repair facility for the Nimitz, I will go sit in the brig for a while. I
love a good conspiracy theory, especially when I am the target."

He took a deep breath, "Contact the admiral, read that PADD. In the mean
time.." he turned to look at Walker. "Lead on, but don't get any funny ideas."

Walker paused, his phaser held fast. "Captain Aragorn, he speaks the truth."

Walker paused, "At least, he thinks he does." Walker smiled grimly, "Your
interrogation has already begun, commander."

"Junior Ensign - ah - I mean, Ensign Junior Grade Fledridge reporting for
duty." He paused, then: "Sir! Uh.. oh, God. Sorry, Sir. Ensign Fledridge
reporting for duty, Sir."

With wide open eyes, Aragorn was regarding the officer that had just
entered his Ready Room.

"Are you for real, Ensign?" he asked slowly.

Aragorn activated his computer screen and did a search.

"Fledridge, you say? As in Ensign Gordon Fledridge? Hmm, it seems to be
that we ARE expecting a certain Ensign Gordon Fledridge. Engineer, I see.
PADD?"

Without looking at the officer, Aragorn held out his hand and received the
data device. Reading through it he nodded.

"Yes, it all seems to match. I guess a welcome is in order then, Ensign.
You have come in a funny time. And strange as it may sound, you seem to
have come right in the nick of time. We are currently quite short on
Engineering officers, just as we are expecting a big engineering job to
arrive. I hope you don't mind a few sweat drops now and again."

Aragorn looked up at the officer.

"Would you mind looking at me when I speak with you, Ensign?"

"Thank you. Oh, and you can relax, we are not on a parade ground here.
Instead we let our actions speak for ourselves. Good work will get you
rewards, bad work will get you into trouble."

Seeing the officer still standing like he had swallowed a broomstick,
Aragorn got up.

"Relax, man," he said, patting the officer on his back. "I'm not a monster.
In fact it is quite safe to say that I haven't bitten one Starfleet
officer....yet. I am a bit of a loud-mouth but most people tend to get used
to that."

Aragorn smiled.

"As for your assignment, I would like you to see Lieutenant Pitt. For the
time being he will show you the ropes. And I want you to contact our
doctor, Ensign De L'Arc du Pounte. He is in dire need of some assistance
with replicating equipment. Help him out, will you?

"Good lad," Aragorn sat down again.

"Oh, and Ensign? In future you will either address me as Captain or as Sir,
not God. I am not a god .......I am worse. Dismissed."

"Captain, this very morning I was on my way to see Commanding Officer
Tokugawa Yori to discuss my new assignment. Since then many things have
happened and the situation is no longer the same."

Actun hesitated for a fraction of a second; there was some consideration in
regard for this Captain's temper but Actun decided that he better avoid
trying to affect Aragorn's temper in one way or the other. He would have to
deal with it as it appeared.

"Being acting CO on Boudicca, I have overlooked the transfer of my crew to
this station but there was no obvious place for me here. I was prepared to
return to Earth when the Admiral called me, suggesting that I would work
independently at this station for the Starfleet Intelligence. Still, the
recent dramatic events have changed that and I experience a lot of
confusion from the crew, working with a Commander but taking orders from
other officers with lower rank."

"You called us 'brothers in arms' before Captain, with regard to the fact
that we both have been held in the dark. As you pointed out, we have only
each other out here. I would like to serve directly under your command,
this would give you the opportunity to use me for specific tasks or
missions involving the Geneva crew without creating command conflicts. I
would still be SFI but instead of having the SFI poking around on Geneva
you would have Geneva poking around in the SFI."

(Starbase Geneva - CO's Ready Room - CO - Captain Aragorn - 16:27)

Actun entered and walked up to Aragorn.

"Captain, this very morning I was on my way to see Commanding Officer
Tokugawa Yori to discuss my new assignment. Since then many things have
happened and the situation is no longer the same."

Actun hesitated for a fraction of a second.

"Being acting CO on Boudicca, I have overseen the transfer of my crew to
this station but there was no obvious place for me here.

Aragorn smiled.

"I am aware of certain difficulties, Commander. But, like you, I am sure
that we can work something out. I must admit that I like the idea. However,
you cannot serve two masters. SF Intelligence put you on this base for a
reason. And, seeing that I am not really if the Intelligence loop, I doubt
SFI would be very happy if I stepped in and took you over. So officially
you will still be an SFI-officer. However, if you have some time to spare,
and especially if both the interests of Starfleet and SFI overlap, I would
like to be able to call upon your services. So, officially you are not part
of the command structure of this vessel, like a lot of civilians on this
base. But that does not prevent us from working together."

"There have been many instances where non-Starfleet personnel have been
involved with Starfleet operations. And if they can't work together, I
can't see a reason why we couldn't. Working together, Commander, that is
how we are going to play it."

"That is, if you can live with it."

(Starbase Geneva, Counsellor's office, SPC Civilian Vicki Sevant, 17.21)

Vicki stood outside the door, her palms getting sweaty by the moment, she
was under such stress and distress and she'd been keeping it together as
long as she could, but she was finally about to lose it. The shuttle trip
back with Jayne had simply been unbearable. And now... she was literally
shaking.

"Come in." She heard through the door.

Taking a giant breath and hoping to any and all gods that presided over the
universe and its inhabitants that she'd be able to keep things together
instead of going all irrational, she stepped into the office.

"How may I be of help?" the ACOUNS said with a smile. He was a Bolian and
his skin was so blue.

"I - I - I..." Vicki paused, she realised that there was no possible way
for her to skirt this issue, but to come straight out with it.

"Alright, this is going to sound a little forward saying it just like this,
but well, I really don't have much choice, and ... I feel like I'm running
out of time, and ....." Vicki's speed of talking was increasing rapidly.

"I'm afraid, my husband's due to arrive soon, and... and... I'm going to be
in sooo much trouble. He's going to be really angry, it's all my fault, I
tried, but.. I couldn't handle, it and.. then they said they'd watch her,
how did I know she'd end up being inducted into a drug ring.... FOR GOODNESS
SAKE, she's ONLY EIGHT YEARS OLD!!!" Vicki cried out hysterically, and
sobbing as she flung herself onto the sofa in the ACOUNS' office.

(Starbase Geneva - Admiral's Module - SQNCO Eileen Greeley & FO Lise
Arianna - 19.01)

The doorchime sounded, the sound made sweet with the anticipation and the
knowledge of the man on the other side. "Come in," she called and regarded
Aragorn as he stepped in confidently, then stopped in apparent confusion in
the dim lighting.

"Admiral?" he asked.

"I'm right here," she replied, giving her voice a low, slightly gravelly
tone. After looking around the room for a moment, Aragorn apparently
realized where she was and took a few steps towards her and paused, clearly
regarding Eileen with a touch of admiration.

"Admiral! Now what the heck is Starfleet playing it, not informing the
command crew of this base of an event that could easily result in the
complete destruction of this base!" he began. Before he could continue,
the door chime sounded again.

~Who the hell could that be??~ thought Eileen angrily as she suddenly
jerked a bit more upright, getting ready to reach for her discarded dress.

Lise had been a little worried, a meeting with the Admiral and the Captain,
she wasn't sure how much more of their innuendo she could take. It had
been enough just watching her at the meeting and how she'd lusted after the
Captain, not to mention the array of emotions that she was broadcasting
practically on a telepathic wide band spectrum.

She shuddered, and her eyes narrowed. Aragorn would be hers, no matter
what, that Admiral had no business going after him like that. She was
practically fifty!

"Come in, Number One! You are right on time!" Aragorn called out.

Eileen's eyes widened in horror as Lise passed through the door, which for
some reason or other didn't close entirely, but she did not notice. The
room before her was very dark, it had a few candles scattered from here and
there that gave it a certain ambiance. Lise didn't like it, neither did
she like the lusty feelings coming from the admiral, who was clad in
something... that seemed to be nothingish as Lise moved around....

What was she to say? Why was she invited to this meeting, and whose idea
had this been? The Admiral's or Aragorn's?

~The little tramp,~ thought Eileen bitterly. ~She no doubt caught wind of
the meeting and came to steal him away from me. I'll show her!~

"Admiral, has your lighting generator gone offline? I could see to its
repair." Lise managed, trying to see how the evil woman would react.

Eileen was trying to think of what to say to this veiled accusation, but
was cut short because there was another visitor entering the door. Louise.
Aragorn's wife.

Lise's eyes narrowed as she entered the room. There was definitely
something fishy at play here, and Lise did not like it one bit. It seemed
that there would be a competition, perhaps even a fight to the death...
for.... Aragorn.

That was fine, Lise could live with that, she reasoned. Being second in
the bat'leth champion the previous year, she was certain that she could do
some damage against the tart and the wife.

"I'm sorry to interrupt-" The newcomer began.

Lise watched as much as she could in the dim light as her eyes went wide
and she could feel the torrent of emotional shock and fury that passed over
her.

"I am SO sorry to interrupt such an interesting *social* occasion. But I
thought Aragorn might like to know that his son has had an accident and is
in Sickbay."

The woman's voice was forced, slightly shaky and dripping with
sarcasm. Lise's eyes narrowed.

"I'll see you there, when you can tear yourself away from your - your
*WOMEN*" was her final thing before she could tear herself away from the
situation at hand.

Lise looked at the Admiral. She was enraged by the situation that unfolded
before her, the fact that had she been the Admiral, the one with the
negligee on and draped across the sofa, she would have found this perfectly
acceptable, did not occur to her, all that occurred to her was how wrong
this was.

She looked at the woman, her eyes narrowing. "Have you no honour? Luring
him here thinking it was a business meeting?"

Eileen stood up so that the younger woman was no longer looking down at
her, and fixed her with a steely glare. "I did not lure anyone here. How
dare you accuse me of such a thing! Of course we were going to discuss
issues of concern to this station. How we are clad or what refreshments we
enjoy while doing so is truly none of your concern! I'm sure you talked
your way into being asked to this meeting to try to steal him away from me,
but you will NOT succeed!"

"What?! I would never barge in uninvited. I know *what* honour is." Lise
spat back at her. "However, that is..." She paused with a malicious
reasoning tone to her voice. "More than I can say for SOME people."

Eileen could feel her Irish temper rising even more strongly. She walked
forward until she was practically in Lise's face and stared straight into
the younger woman's eyes. "You have some nerve, coming into MY office and
declaring that I lack honor. If anyone lacks honor, it is you! Showing up
uninvited, trying to wedge your way in where you are not wanted, trying to
steal what is not yours. You disgust me."

"What is not mine?" Lise raised her voice, her Klingon blood beginning to
boil, fueled by the emotions being spat out at her by the Admiral merely
millimeters away from her face. "You are NOT one to speak, you think that
such a great man as he would want someone like you? I doubt it. You are
duplicitous, you paraded this about as a business meeting, and yes, I
suppose, my dear Admiral that it was intended as a business meeting,
although one that conducted business of a DIFFERENT SORT!!!"

Eileen gasped aloud. How dare this woman judge her, when she would likely
have done the same thing given the opportunity. "How DARE you!" she
charged, then, pulling back her right hand, she swung her arm with as much
force as she could muster and slapped Lise as hard as possible, right
across the face.

Lise staggered slightly as for the second time that day she felt the flesh
of someone's palm across her face. This time it hurt even more as her face
had already been damaged earlier by Yori's much more forceful slap.

This enraged Lise. "How DARE you strike me!" She shouted as she charged
towards the admiral. "You truly have no honour. To strike one of your
officers for something that you do not even lay claim to, nor could you
ever hope to. That is disgusting."

Lise lowered her voice as she stepped towards the scantily-clad
admiral "You are the one who shouldn't interfere where you are not
wanted." She hissed.

Lise was torn, part of her wanted to tear out every bit of internal organs
that the Admiral possessed, the other part.. however, was that she knew by
doing so, she'd merely bring herself down in Aragorn's eyes, and so she
chose not to use that route.

Instead she leant in very closely to the Admiral, and whispered in her
ear. "Sloppy my dear, you were sloppy, next time, if you intend to win,
try to do things a little neater."

Eileen blinked as her head began spinning slightly. The power of the anger
and hatred she was feeling was overwhelming her, completely blowing through
whatever shred of self-control she might still have been clinging
to. Enraged, she grabbed the younger woman about the shoulders and threw
her to the floor, falling with her and landing on top of her, grabbing at
her hair while trying
to keep her pinned between her knees.

Lise gasped as all of a sudden she felt the older woman force her down.
Unprepared for that reaction, she went down easily. Mentally cursing
herself for not being more wary. She wouldn't let this last for long, she
could feel the Admiral grabbing at her hair.

"Oh, you think you can win this way eh? If you can't score in one facet
you will try another? Very persistent my dear Admiral, very persistent,
but not always does age come before beauty and
strength." She said as she maneuvered her own weight and she shifted the
Admiral so that she was underneath Lise, and Lise had pinned her to the
floor. The Admiral's hands still clinging onto her hair, leaving their
faces too close for comfort.

"Really now, Admiral, did you honestly think you could win?"

Desperately, Eileen shifted her grip so that instead of a handful of hair,
she grabbed a firm hold of Lise's earlobe, and jerked across her face as
hard as she could. The grimace of the other woman as her head was twisted,
and her involuntary movement to rise up and lessen the strain, allowed
Eileen to work her right leg up into Lise's abdomen. A sharp upward motion
with her right foot propelled the younger woman upward and back, and she
crashed to the floor just over Eileen's head, knocking Aragorn to the floor
in the process.
