Stardate: 2408.07.27

(Tch'Kair'n orbit, Orbital station, Medical ward, Waagoshin Medic Kaleph Day 19, 0155)

"Excuse me, sir?" The alien said as she stood upright then wiped her mouth. "It seems like I have soiled my uniform by accident. May I change into a clean pair of clothing? I'm sure the smellis quite offensive to your superior nose. If it's making my nose wrinkle, it must be making yours curl.

Kaleph's nose crinkled in reply. "That goes without saying."

She made another submissive gesture.

"Look. I promise you, I am not trying to trick you. Besides. In my culture, wolves, or Wa-yas as we called them were highly regarded for their cunningness and intelligence. I would be degrading my culture to try and fool you, number one, and number two, I don't have the same intelligence as you do. You would see right through any ruse I could possibly think of. Besides, I know you could kill me in a heartbeat, and at the moment, I like the way my heart beats."

He grunted an assent, although not a warrior since medics were lower in rating any Waagoshin was instinctually a predatory animal and quite capable of bringing down prey. Especially such fragile looking beings as these aliens appeared to be, soft skinned and not terrible muscled though they appeared quite well proportioned. Despite her lack of fur except for the long hair upon her head she appeared quite feminine though, some master would no dobt be pleased at owning her and making use of her charms.

"I'm really worried about my...litter mate as it were. She needs water as well, and I would like to take a look at her...with you present of course...no tricks. Besides, I would like you to give you some medical information about us so you can keep us healthy for the duration of our time here. It is only fair, don't you think?"

He gave a sharp shake of his head. "It is not permitted, Alpha 1 gave strict orders as I understand it that your group was to be seperated. Should those orders be withdrawn however I will consider it."

"So,how about we start with some clean clothes and work our way from there?"

She appeared calm and confident, he had the same idea of course, her soiled clothing would have to be discarded. He pointed to a cabinet on the other side of the room. "You will find a change of clothing there, after you have cleaned up you may make use of them. Strip and clean yourself at the sink first." His nose wrinkled again." I will dispose of your soiled clothing."

(Reply: Angeni)

He didn't take his eyes off her as she washed herself, he still didn't trust her completely and would give her no opportunity to be deceitful, besides he was a male and enjoyed the sight. The thought entered his mind that if she did prove to be docile and a capable medic perhaps he might ask for her to be assigned to the medical ward so that he might 'watch over' her training.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Tch'Kair'n orbit, Orbital station, Medical ward, CMO Angeni O. Windsong-Trommashere Day 19, 0200)

She smiled at him, nodding her head. Despite everything, he was being very accomidating to her. She was sure that they were both exhaused by this point. Angeni had no clue how long she had been awake, but she was sure it was longer than she had been up in a while. Angeni slowly stripped out of her clothing, sighing happily as she did. Instead of handing her clothing over, she walked to what looked like the nearest bio-hazard bin and dumped her things in.

Searching through the cabinets, she found several small towels and she began to wash herself in the sink. She was aware of being watched by him, so she continued to have non chalont conversation as she bathed.

"By the way. My name is Angeni, what is yours?"

(reply medic)

Angeni smiled and nodded. As she dried off, she noticed a drinking bowl by the sink. She turned off the hot water and filled the bowl with cool, clear water, and she saunteered over to the Medic, holding the bowl up to him, looking up at him with a smile.

"Since you were and still are being so kind, I wanted to return the favor in kind."

(Reply Medic)

She walked away from him and grabbed a uniform from the cabinet. She walked over to where the tray and privacy screen were, and she knew she'd only have moments to act. She quickly scanned the tray and she saw several long, apparently twelve gauge or bigger needles and the fllexible, yet stiff chest tube tubing. She saw the stack of stainless steel needles, and she quickly formed yet another plan.

She pushed the table and the screen seemingly out of the way, but she put her hand down on the stack of needles, and she poked the palm of her hand, making it bleed.

"Ouch!"

She jumped, throwing her uniform down on the tray, upsetting the entire thing and it clamoured to the floor. She hopped back again, nearly sitting on the counter. Blood was oozing down her hand, and she immediately went to the Waagoshin, bowing her head.

"Oh! I am so sorry! I ment nothing! I will get it cleaned up right away, master."

She hurried back over to the mess, and she began to pick up things off the ground. She hoped beyond all hope that a needle or two had found themselves in the hem of her garment. She dared not to look now for fear of being noticed right away. After she had righted the tray, she pulled on the jumpsuit and was never so happy to feel a pinprick near her calf.

She glanced down quickly and noted she couldn't see the needle from the outside. She figured she only had one good shot to do something worth while. She stood up and walked meekly over to the medic, holding up her hand.

"Can you help me bandage my hand please?"

(Reply Medic)

She nodded and she sat down on the table.

"Is there any way I can take a bowl of water to my litter mate, please? I just want to hand it to her, then we can leave. I just need to look her over very quickly to make sure she is okay. Is there any way I can prove that I am good to my word? Think about it. If I had any bad intentions, I would've acted on them by now, not sat here quietly and let you do what you have done to me."

She offered him a small smile.

"Besides..." She reached up tenatively and gave him a gentle scratch behind his ear before taking her hand back. "I'm a lover and a medic, not a fighter."

~Here goes absolutely nothing...~

She knew her only route of escape was if she could meet up with Darla. She knew she couldn't get out of the station on her own, but with Darla's help, they could go and find Sash and all three of them could get out of this alive.

"I just want to see her, give her water, then you can take me right back to my cell...what do you say?"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Tch'Kair'n orbit, Orbital station, Medical ward, CMO Angeni O. Windsong-Trommashere Day 19, 0202)

Things had been going smoothly between the two of them. She was very irritated that she could not go and see Darla or Sash, but she had no clue how long they would be there, so she figured there would always be a next time. The Medic had shown her extreme kindness, allowing her to have several bowls of water while she 'recovered' and he had even allowed her to look over their medical equipment with a watchful eye.

She had reasoned that, she was getting better treatment because they were of the same cloth. They were both medics, they both worked to help people. While both beings had their species primal predatory behavior, they were able to look past it. Besides, Angeni had never, even through her hunting trips with her Father, had never killed a wolf, even the red wolf that had ruined an entire summer by wrecking havoc on the Windsongs' chickens and roosters.

Her father explained to her that the wolf was just being a wolf foraging for food, and that it would've been wrong to kill it for doing what it was born to do. The wolf never claimed the life of a young chicken, merely the ones that were no longer laying eggs and were older, ones that would have been in the oven at any point, and he never took more than one. From then on, Angeni saw it as a two fold gift, one, the wolf was not killing the horses, dogs, and tame wolves that roamed their fields, and two, it kept her from spending hours plucking and gutting the birds.

As she finished her last drink from the bowl, the guards came in and were ready to take her back to her cell. She nodded and offered a small smile. ~They are just being wolves doing what wolves do. Don't blame them for it, this is how the Mother made them...~ She turned to the Medic with a small smile.

"Thank you, for everything. If I may ask one thing, please give the other humans several bowls of water, please? I would appreciate it...one medic to another..."

As she was led away, she wondered if she was ever going to get out.

(USS Hades, Deck 18, Engineering Support - aCTAC/SEC Ensign (jg) Lo'ren T'Vof and Engineer Ensign (jg) Arysha Tethlin - 09:42)

Lo'ren found her way down to the bowels of Engineering. She'd gotten reports from some security crewmen and confirmed with Lt. Trinin that Arysha Tethlin had stepped up to the plate when the Captain, Dr. Trommashere and Lt. Wrighthad been taken. Lo'ren knew the whole ship by memory and could probably navigate every corridor instinctively in a tactical situation, but she'd still had to get a map from the computer to find engineering section 52-Theta.

The small room she now found herself in was unclutered and had three consoles - one for each short wall - one chair and not much else. Lo'ren had learned that this was practically the exclusive domain of one of the Hades'extremely talented programmer-engineers. ~What a lonely existence.~ Lo'ren sighed slightly, feeling like she understood the alone-ness of existing rather outside culture as Arysha seemed to.

{{Help-you possible?}} The query was mechanical and devoid of emotion, but the face that had swivelled towards her was full of curiosity and puzzlement as the hands articulated the language she was native to.

"Yes, I trust you are Arysha Tethlin?" Lo'ren smiled, but kept herself in a business mode, this was not a social call after all.

The dark head nodded and Lo'ren's eyes were drawn to the chunk of white hair that streaked back at the right side of the engineer's head as it very nearly changed colour in the glow of the nearest console. {{Yes. Help-you possible Ensign?}}

Lo'ren let her mind step back from conventional language and that seemed to help her understand what was coming at her. "Yes, Miss Tethlin. I understand you did some good work helping Lt. Trinin when the kidnapping took place."
Arysha looked puzzled for a second before she smiled in understanding.{{Meaning Captain, D-Boss and Doctor stolen, yes. Work fast-fast for find. Not find them-three, but saw-else dog-men, dangerous.}}

Lo'ren nodded, "Yes, I need your quick hands and your instinct on the Plegathon Ensign. I would like you at the battle bridge engineering console. Do you think you can handle it?" She wanted to leave this open. Arysha's file had recommended her for a research position on a station somewhere but Arysha had fought for active service, and yet was content to sit in an out of the way corner.

Arysha's eyes grew wide and her face was filled with shock and scepticism. {{Want me? True?}} Her head leaned to oe side as she stared at this...apparition that wanted a Deaf person on active duty in a firefight. She couldn't believe it, someone willing to give her a shot. Just getting onto an active ship had been hard enough.

Lo'ren gathered from the engineer's answer that Arysha had been overlooked and hadn't expected anything like this. "Yes, I want you. You thought quickly, you took charge where you needed it and you made a decisive move while still observing the chain of command. I want you on my team."

Arysha blinked. ~Me? Bridge? Wow. Never-never expect that.~ {{One thing,for-for help smooth work adjust. Read fast must myself, short orders best.}}

Lo'ren smiled. ~No fussing about, eh Ensign?~ "So, I gather you are willing? Good. We will have a team briefing at 1100 hours. I expect you there in the Tactical Chief's Office and we will work out the details then."

Arysha grinned the widest grin she'd ever grinned. {{Yes. Understand.}} She stood and tossed off a serious salute even if it wasn't a typical gesture anymore. The short-haired Ensign, tossed one back, maintaining the seriousness of it and walked away. Arysha flopped back into her chair and turned back around to her consoles. A few quick taps later and she had information on the configuration of the Plegathon Battle Bridge, tactical data for the Hades and information on the woman who had dissappeared moments ago.

(Tch'Kair, Capital City- Compound, - aCEO Ensign (jg) Eoin Mac Liam- 15:38)

Eoin and McGuire made it almost all the way across the courtyard unscathed. But, right when they were about to reach the door, a phaser bolt grazed Eoin's hair, singing it slightly, and another found purchase in McGuire. Eoin's first instinct when he heard his comrade drop was to turn and see if he was alright.

~I can't,~ he thought to himself, ~If I do, I'm libel to be shot as well. And I've got a job to do.~

Fighting his body all the way, he finally reached his door. He quickly opened his tool kit, and found a decoder. He set it on the door, and set it to start trying to find the combination to open the lock. He also knocked on the door lightly.

~Metallic, but mostly hollow. If need be, a few well-placed kicks will bring it down.~ He rummaged through his tool kit, and found the appropriate tools to start trying to take the door off the frame as well, just so they wouldn't have to deal with it again.

"He's alive!" someone exclaimed, causing Eoin to turn around. Harry Doorman was dragging McGuire into the cover of the wall next to the doorway, with Lupo Dal in tow.

Eoin nodded. "Good. Make him as comfortable as possible, and alert a medic as soon as possible."

"We have to get him inside." Harry said.

"The Waagoshin are charging us!" Lupo Dal said.

Eoin turned back towards the door, hoping that the decoder was making some progress. But so far, none. He continued with his un-hinging jiggery-pokery, hoping that it'd work. He heard a few phase rifle shots go off, and assumed that Harry was covering him while he worked. Then, it all stopped. Eoin saw out of the corner of his eye Harry leaning against the wall. The man shuddered and emptied the contents of his stomach against the wall.

Eoin felt bad for him. He wasn't proud of the things he had done today, but he knew that if he let those deeds rule him, he couldn't accomplish the task he had been appointed. He saw Harry come towards him.

"Are you alright?"

(reply Doorman)

"The decoder is making slow progress. I doubt it will work. However, my own brand of jiggery-pokery is. One more small --" He twisted something off with his spanner. The door fell out of its frame with a thud.

"There we go. Open."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Tch'Kair, Capital City- Compound, - SciO Ensign Harry Doorman- 1539)

Stomach empty, Harry made his way back over to the area where Eoin wasworking at trying to get the door open.

Most of the fighting had died down, but was punctuated by an occasional blast as a Tch'Kairn resistance fighter encountered a Waagoshin soldier that was still willing to put up some sort of fight.

"Are you alright?" Mac Liam asked his as he arrived.

"I'm not hurt. I... Just don't feel well. Nerves or something." harry replied, still a bit shaky from the rush of adrenaline and unexpected telepathic effort during the short struggle.

"At least I didn't choke." He added then gestured for the door. "How's it coming?"

"The decoder is making slow progress. I doubt it will work. However, my own brand of jiggery-pokery is. One more small --" He twisted something off with his spanner. The door fell out of its frame with a thud.

Harry smiled at that. It was an unexpected affect of getting the door open and he attributed it to nerves.

He turned to notice a pair of Medics making their way across the courtyard. He waved them down.

"Over here!" he said, arms waving chaotically. "McGuire was injured!"

The two medics heard him and headed over to them. They took one look at McGuire and immediately went into doctor mode. Even after all the time that he'd been dating Angeni, harry still didn't understand what was being said or exactly what they were doing.

Rather than try to decipher it, he instead leaned into the hallway, just past the door and gave the corridor a good look.

It was long and daunting and ran adjacent to the entry way. Several smaller rooms were connected to the corridor and it looked somewhat dungeon-like.

Lieutenant Trinin's voice sounded from behind him and nearly caused harry to leap out of his skin. He hadn't heard the man approach, despite the fact that he had been trying to be attentive to his surroundings.

"Good work mister Mac Liam. You too, Mister Doorman."

(reply Mac Liam)

  "Thank you sir." Harry said.

Harry turned his attention to the following discussion between Baylon and the Resistance leader. After some time, they came to an accord and Baylon led them into the hallway and towards the transporter room that was their actual destination.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Tch'Kair, Capital City- Compound, - SO Lieutenant Baylon Trinin- 1540)

Baylon crossed the courtyard as the last of the weapons fire was dying down. The Waagoshin troops although surprised by the suddenness of the assault had still taken their toll against the Tch'kairn resistance fighters that had decided to finally make a direct assault.

K'thartek was walking alongside him to the left as the two surveyed the damage.

Cosmetically the area was a complete shambles. But the damage to the structure itself was minimal, which meant that they could still use it should they have a need for it.

Baylon realized that whatever Waagoshin officer was in command was currently repositioning his troops to best repel an all out attack against the commandand control center that acted as the nerve center for the facility.

They'd put up makeshift barricades and position troops along the suspected route of travel.

He stopped just short of the door, which Eoin had managed to get open. McGuire was still alive, reclined presently and being attended to by a pair of medics that were doing everything that they could to keep the man alive long enough to return to the ship.

The fact that no one knew when or even if that would be possible wasn't a factor in their performance at the moment. If anything, they were doing an even better job with the understanding that they may not have access to a medical facility for some time.

Doorman was standing near the door that Mac Liam had pried open. A pair of Baylon's security officers were presently hauling away the door to get it out of the way.

Baylon turned for a moment, formulating his plans, making adjustments for the losses of men and Tch'Kairn that had been lost in the assault.

His eyes swept across the small battlefield noting the Dead and dying with a morose sense of accomplishment. Their Casualties so far had been lighter than he had anticipated. While it wasn't a pleasant sight, it was going to make the later part of the mission that much easier.

"Good work mister Mac Liam. You too, Mister Doorman."

(reply Mac Liam)

"Thank you sir." Harry said, although he looked a bit green around the gills.

He turned to K'thartek "I've been thinking." he said with a serious tone of voice. "that we are going to need to make an adjustment to our plans. A big one."

The large Tch'Kairn turned to regard Baylon with his multi-faceted ruby-red eyes. "And what sort of change will we need to make?" he asked. There was almost a sense of suspicion in his tone.

"I think that we're going to need to destroy the station, one way or the other. Which means that you'll have to make your announcement from here.I'll send half my security force with you to see to it that you can get through to the communications area. We'll get to the station, rescue our people and get off in one piece. In any case, we'll see to it that the station is destroyed." Baylon explained.

"Why does the station need to be destroyed?" the resistance leader asked then.

"It's a strong military objective. If the Waagoshin can recapture it, they'll do so and use it as a weapons platform to rain retribution back down on your people. They'll also be able to use it as a staging point. One ofthe first rules of warfare is if it is important and you can't hold it, you deny it to your enemy."

"What about the Tch'Kairn and Niglik there?" K'thartek asked.

"We'll get as many of them off as we can. I'll do my best , I promise you."the Betazoid replied with as much sincerity as he could muster.

The resistance leader clicked his mandibles in thought. "Alright. It won'thave the same affect on my people."

"It will if you tell them that you are going to destroy it. They'll be able to see it themselves as it breaks up and reenters the atmosphere. The pieces will be too small to cause any harm and they'll know for a fact that they are free. Trust me. I've seen it before." Baylon continued.

"Very well. I will do as you ask, but only because your words make sense to me."

Baylon nodded. "I wouldn't have it any other way."

The security chief gathered up his personnel, gave orders concerning their role in the rest of the mission and then with a deep breath turned to MacLiam and Doorman. "Time to head for the station." he said simply then led the way, his half of the assault force and his two fellow officers right behind him.

K'thartek and Lupo Dal followed only as far as the point where their paths separated.

"Good luck to you K'thartek. May you free your people."

"And you yours." The resistance leader replied as they departed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Tch'Kair, Capital City- Compound, - aCEO Ensign (jg) Eoin Mac Liam- 15:41)

"The decoder is making slow progress. I doubt it will work. However, my own brand of jiggery-pokery is. One more small --" He twisted something off with his spanner. The door fell out of its frame with a thud.

Harry smiled. Eoin did too. Then Harry noticed a pair of medics, and flagged them down.

"Over here!" he said, arms waving chaotically. "McGuire was injured!"

The two medics heard him and headed over to them. They took one look at McGuire and immediately went into doctor mode.

Eoin regarded this for a moment, then turned to move the door, and look down the corridor that now presented itself.

It was long and daunting and ran adjacent to the entry way. Several smaller rooms were connected to the corridor and it looked somewhat dungeon-like.

Lt. Trinin called out behind them. In his own element, Eoin was cool as a cucumber. He turned and smiled at his team leader.

"Good work mister Mac Liam. You too, Mister Doorman."

"Thank you sir." "Thank you sir." Harry said.

Trinin spoke a while with the resistance leader, then led the group into the corridor. Eoin had used the time to pack up his things, and follow close behind.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(USS Hades, Bridge, aCO Commander Eva Straton, 15:45)

Eva watched as the Acheron and Phlegathon moved in on the pursuit following them around the planet.

"Swing us out and around," Eva ordered, as the Acheron and Phlegathon opened fire on the pursing ships. "Box them in against the planet. As the Hades swung out and around effectively boxing the pursuing ships against the planet thus limiting their maneuverability. As the Acheron and Phlegathon had quickly dispatched two of the ship the Hades bore down on the third and remaining ship.

"Open fire, target weapons and engines," She ordered. The Hades swooped in adding it's fire power to that of the Acheron and Phlegathon to finish off the last of three pursuing ships blowing into a cloud floating debris.

"All ships change course," Eva ordered before the fire ball had."185 mark 47. Got 4 more ships to take out. Acheron right flank.Phlegathon left flank. Hades will take point."

(Reply Acheron, Phlegathon)

As the Hades charged into the formation of Waagoshin ships they were met with a fierce barrage of weapons fire and the ship rocked heavily. Eva griped the arms of the command chair and gritted her teeth willing the ships shields to hold.

"Shields down to 73%," tactical reported.

"All weapons, fire at will," Eva ordered, as the Hades charged into the Waagoshin formation followed by the Acheron and Phlegathon. Eva noted on the tactical display that several other Waagoshin ships were already moving in to support their besieged comrades. The element of surprise was quickly wearing off, they had to inflict as much damage as they could then pull further back where they could maneuver and not get surrounded.

The Hades led with a spread of quantum torpedo's on the first two ships shields and followed up with a blistering phaser barrage that punched through the lead ships shields leaving it wide open for the Phlegathon to swoop in and deliver the killing blow. The other ship faired worse as it's forward shields collapsed under the brunt of the torpedo assault and the phaser barrage scorched blistered it's unprotected hull, cutting a large black gash along it's underbelly. The ship spun out of control as it'slost attitude control and spun wildly toward the planet.

The Waagoshin gave as good as they got as weapons fire pummeled the Hades, Acheron and Phlegathon heavily. A console exploded behind Eva and the acrid smell of overloaded circuits filled her nostrils.

"Move us away from the planet," Eva ordered, "Give us room to maneuver. All weapons keep firing." As they maneuvered, still exchanging heavy fire with the Waagoshin ships, another Waagoshin ship lost one ofit's warp nacelles and then a weapon pod before exploding into a dazzling fire ball.

The Hades led the formation was they moved further away from the planet more Waagoshin ships in pursuit. As they pulled out of the gravity well of the planet the Acheron and Phlegathon. both broke off in opposite directions swinging back around on the pursuing ships as the Hades launched a spread of torpedo's from her rear tubes. As the Acheron and Phlegathon.dove into the next group of enemy ships, the Hades swooped back around and attacked from above.

(USS Hades, Plegathon Bridge - aCTAC/SEC Ensign (jg) Lo'ren T'Vof - 15:46)

=/\All ships change course, 185 mark 47. Got 4 more ships to take out.Acheron right flank. Phlegathon left flank. Hades will take point.=/\= The orders came over the ships systems.

Lo'ren nodded, "Understood Hades. Helm, you heard her." Lo'ren glanced back at the engineer, "Tethlin, report."
Gloved hands flew for mere moments, but conveyed information in a way that was concise, precise and thurough. {{Shields 67 percent, Dampers stable,Structure hold good.}}

Lo'ren nodded her thanks, and turned to Science, "McMeel, status."

The young man was buckling under the pressure and Lo'ren could see it in his face, but he was baring down. "Hades is jamming subspace, fractal coms are holding, still working on the enemy shield harmonics." the spiky tow haired fellow shook his head as he glanced up, "Their ships are cobbled, ma'am there's no true pattern and no matching harmonics." Andy gave an apologetic look as he went back to his current task.

Lo'ren responded, "Keep at it, try for a standard range we can rotate through - that should be possible." McMeel nodded his thanks. She turned her head again, this time to Tactical, "Menken? Joanie?" Lo'ren left the question hanging without voicing it.

Joanie was shaking her hands out in preparation for the next round,"Bring'em." the fiesty woman grinned wolfishly.
Menken wheezed as he spoke. "I am ready, ma'am. New target acquired."

Lo'ren frowned and swore inwardly, "Menken, stay at your post, but I'm calling a medic in to get you breathing proper." The Benzite nodded, his eyes blinking rapidly. Lo'ren did just that. "Medic to Battle Bridge, Benzite breathing kit needed." She snapped off the comm at her chair console and stood.

She came up and stood behind her Helmsman. "Artie, Pattern Zeta 4 once we break formation."

The skinny Flight Ops nodded and started a wild pattern as the Plegathon's viewer skewed the starfield towards the left, veering the ship to the right.

Lo'ren was rooted to the spot and her lip curled slightly as she vented herloathing in her next two words, "Fire away."

The targetted ship turned to meet them after the first glancing blow and both ships rocked under the enemy barrage. A console blew and Andrew McMeel shouted as he was tossed back from his console. Lo'ren was in motion immediately, "McMeel!"She grabbed him and pulled him away from the still sparking panel and checked his vitals. He was still with them, just dazed.

Lo'ren took his post for a moment while he recovered.

He grunted, "I'll take over again, ma'am." and Lo'ren stepped back towards the centre seat.

(Acheron, Bridge, aFO/CSO Lieutenant Jericho Haynes, 15:50)

 "Incoming message from the Hades."

"On screen." Jack snapped as he tapped the com button ending communications with engineering. The ship had sustained some substantial damage from the Waag missiles but warp power was unaffected. Life support though was currently undergoing repair as well as the structural integrity field. Hull damage was extensive on deck thirteen but not a threat to operations at present.

=^= All ships change course 185 mark 47. Got 4 more ships to take out. Acheron right flank. Phlegathon left flank. Hades will take point."

"Understood." Jack nodded from the CONN. "Helm lock in that course, move to the right flank at fifteen hundred meters."

The numbers of Waagoshin ships coming around the planet had grown to five and they opened fire with missiles as soon as they were in range followed by energy weapons which seemed to be some kind of particle beam. Jack was interested in seeing the specs on that when they were able. The Acheron bucked wildly as one of the ships opened up with their quantum disruptor weapon. Though it was lower powered than that of the station its affect was immediately felt. The ship rocked in response but command/control held steady.

~Either didn't get the message or was testing us. Good thing the SIF was still strong enough to absorb it. That was until engineering buzzed in as the Acheron began punishing two of the Waag vessels.

=^= Bridge, that last hit burned out three of our SIF relays. If they hit us again with that disruptor we're toast!=^=

Jack's blood ran cold. "Put everyone you have on those relays now, make the SIF your priority. How long for repairs?"

=^=Acknowledged. About twenty minutes.=^=

"Understood. Bridge out."

He snapped off the com. ~I hope they don't try it again, at least until the structural integrity field is fully operational.~

"Tactical, delta pattern. Take those ships down."

"Aye sir."

A full volley of phaser fire bracketed one of the ships almost continuously until it broke apart into sparkling fragments, she then turned her attention to vessel number two which was pounding their shields mercilessly. The ship shook and several consoles flickered before a conduit broke from the ceiling and collapsed to the deck, barely missing the officer manning the OPS station. He flinched but held his post.

That ship finally exploded under fire as the Acherons phasers found her command center and burned through the nose of the ship and into its bowels where they set off a chain reaction into her engine room.

The Hades and Phlegathon were extracting their pound of flesh as well and more. Quantum torpedoes and phasers from the Hades lighting up space in sizzling colors of spectacular light as they sledge hammered the enemy vessels.

Before he knew it they had cleared the first wave of Waag ships.

He chanced a silent, deep breath and waited for updates to the ships status and further orders.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(USS Hades, Bridge, ACSO Ensign (JG) Kenneth McKenzie, 15:54 hours.)

Kenny had been monitoring the communications from the Wagoshiin ever since he had jammed them, in case they had found a way to overcome it. So far, Kenny could see no evidence that they had. This began to make Kenny think.

So far, the Hades, even though it had splint into three ships, was really only one ship, had entered Wagoshiin territory, destroyed several of their vassals, landed a crew on a populated planet, and hardly got a scratch. Was this the power of what the Federation was capable of at the highest level, or were the Wagoshiin so arrogant that they did not expect such an attack and so weakened their defences. Or was it pure luck?

Then again, this was the first time that Kenny had seen the Hades in combat, and he knew that the Hades was one of the best ships within the Federation fleet. Back at the Academy, he had only been given the same assess to the specs of the Prometheus Class Starship that was public. Most of it was classified. Most of what he was seeing now was unknown to most people expect it's standard crew and people at the high level.

A rock from weapons fire brought him out of his thoughts. He took a lot at his console, only now able to hear the bleeping it was giving off. Kenny took a closer look. and bit his lip. The Wasgoshiin were attempting to counter the communications jam. They had activated a secondary communications array which was emitted some form of energy which diverted the blocking signal. The signal they admitted was so strong it bounced away any attempt at a jam. Kenny knew that the subspace block was not going to work now, he had to come up with another way.

"Commander Straton." he said. "The Wagoshiin are using a different array to counter our communications block. I'll attempt to block that too."

(reply Commander Straton IYW)

Kenny was not sure how. After scanning it, he discovered that although only certain Wagoshiin ships had this second array, it was very strong. It would take a lot more to block this. The only way he could think of right now was a direct target from phaser fire, but the Hades had it's hands full. He became to scan for a weakness to this second array.

"Commander I have an incoming signal. It's the Wagoshiin." said Admes

Kenny knew that they must have been able to overcome the single block already. Kenny kept looking for a way to counter this, but he did not want to make a move right now. If the Wagoshiin wanted to talk, it might be important, but he would be ready to block them again. Now it was a matter of waiting for the commanders orders, he just hoped that he would be ready with a counter for the array when that order came.

(Tch'Kair, Capital City- Inside Compound, - SciO Ensign Harry Doorman- 1555)

Baylon led the way. He was moving quickly and Harry had to admit, that the man with all his weapons and tense athletic physique looked almost as predatory as the Waagoshin that they were fighting.

Already they had encountered three small groups of Waagoshin's. But Baylon and a couple of the security personnel with them had managed to handle them pretty quickly.

They had just turned a corner when they heard a terrible racket.

Ahead of them in the corridor was a number of small humanoids, pounding on the corpses of some fallen Waagoshin guards with some pipes or pieces of broken equipment. They were just outside the doors to the transporter room and their ferocity seemed to be something that harry might associate with an ancient evil Celtic god of some sort.

They continued to advance although now the security team was on an even higher alert than before. They weren't certain who these new participants were, although Harry was beginning to think that they might be the Niglik that T'Vof had told them about.

The six member swarm of smaller creatures, turned almost as if it were a single entity and regarded them for a moment before turning and retreating into the depths of the corridors.

They moved forward.

When they reached the Door, Baylon ordered several of the security men to form a picket, whatever that meant as he looked at the control panel for the door. It was smashed and covered with blood. "Mac Liam." Baylon called out.

 (reply Mac Liam)

"Looks like someone sabotaged the controls to the transporter room door. Ineed you to get it open."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Tch'Kair, Capital City- Inside Compound, - aCEO Ensign (jg) Eoin Mac Liam - 15:57)

Baylon led the way. Eoin was reminded of the Minotaur's labyrinth of legend, and prayed silently that a similar monster didn't lurk at the centre of this maze. Already they had encountered three small groups of Waagoshin. But Baylon and a couple of the security personnel with them had managed to handle them pretty quickly.

They had just turned a corner when they heard a terrible racket.

Ahead of them, Eoin saw a group of Nigliks. Fighting back. Eoin couldn't help but feel proud of them. He hoped that this had something to do with his earlier encounter with Xaxora. Somehow she had taken his words to heart. And this was the result.

The six member swarm turned almost as if it were a single entity and regarded them for a moment before turning and retreating into the depths of the corridors.

They moved forward.

When they reached the Door, Baylon ordered several of the security men to form a picket as he looked at the control panel for the door.

It was smashed and covered with blood.

"Mac Liam." Baylon called out.

"Yes, sir," Eoin said, stepping forward.

"Looks like someone sabotaged the controls to the transporter room door. I need you to get it open."

"Consider it done." Eoin knelt down and got to work. He didn't bother with the decoder this time; it'd only slow him down. Instead, the went straight for his spanner. The door was off in less than a minute.

(USS Hades, Bridge, aCO Commander Eva Straton, 1608)

Eva was barking another course correction her eyes watching the tactical display of the ensuing battle.

"Commander I have an incoming signal," Lt. Adams said from OPS suddenly.

"Who is it?" She asked, never taking her eyes off the tactical display.

"It's the Waagoshin sir, they are requesting to speak with you."

"Indeed?" Eva said, with a raised brow. ~Throwing in the towel already Alpha 1? Somehow I doubt it.~ "Put it on screen"

"Aye sir," Adams said, turning back to work his console.

"Keep firing and maintain evasive maneuvers," Eva ordered. She'd be damned if she'd get caught sitting still in the middle of a fire fight. The view screen wavered to show and enraged Alpha 1 sitting in his command chair flanked by Captain Sash, who was himself flanked by two Waagoshin guards. A silvery collar could be seen around Captain Sash's neck.

Alpha 1 leaned forward with an enraged expression, his ears were flat against his skull.

=/\=Commander I order you to break off your attack and leave Waagoshin space now or I will kill your Alpha. If you think me too weak to carry out my threat you know nothing of my race. You have ten seconds to reply before I give you a demonstration of my serious intentions.=/\=

Eva sneered in anger and rose from the commander chair meeting Alpha 1's gaze directly. "And I order you to return the officers you abducted by force from this ship or I swear I will kill every single Waagoshin in this system, and I will make sure your death is slow and EXTREMELY painful. You have five second to comply."

As she spoke verbally, she reached out with her mind toward the station making contact with the mind of the Niglik leader Vazkak.

::Vazkak, the time for you and your people's liberation is near at hand. You must be ready to rise up and join your Tch'Kairn brothers in their effort to throw off the yoke of Waagoshin rule. Even now our forces are battling the Waagoshin across the system. Warn your people, and be ready to help when the battle comes to the station. Three of my people are even now being held prisoner by the Waagoshin. I beseech you for whatever aid you and yours can give.:: Then Eva shared her memories of the space battle currently in progress and the destruction of the Waagoshin ships around the planet and her present conversation with Alpha 1 and his threat against Captain Sash. She let the Niglik leader know that even as they spoke the Tch'Kairn resistance was fighting side by side with the Federation officers across the system in an effort to retake the system from the Waagoshin, and they were wining.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Tch'kairn orbit, orbital station, Waagoshin Commander Alpha 1, 1610)

The alien commander rose from her chair with an outraged expression. =^=And I order you to return the officers you abducted by force from this ship or I swear I will kill every single Waagoshin in this system, and I will make sure your death is slow and EXTREMELY painful. You have five seconds to comply.=^=

Alpha 1 gave a barking laugh, he hadn't expected her to capitulate so readily and he was not disappointed. The sight of her Alpha under his claw had sparked her to anger, it was time to see if she could be goaded into a mistake.

"Very well, since you refuse I will give you a sample of what awaits your Captain."

"Do it!" He barked.

The Waagoshin on Sash's right flank depressed a stud on his rod sending energy shooting through Sash's collar.

The pain was excruciating as nearly the full primary output of the collar shot like a bolt through his body, Sash's knees buckled at first until his Angosian training and bio-engineered responses took over. Still his teeth were gritted at his concentration as he fought off the pain. It occurred to him that if he remained on his feet in defiance they might kill him now, if he appeared to show weakness however it might open up future opportunities. Alpha 1 expected him to succumb, if he did he might lower his guard, trusting in the collar. That could give him a window of opportunity to turn the tables on the Waagoshin.

Sash gave Eva a fierce look before mouthing. "Don't!" Silently before allowing his weight to carry him to the floor. His hands on the deck and back bowed he allowed a grunt of pain to escape through gritted teeth.

Alpha 1 turned from the sweet sight back to the enraged alien on the view screen. He gave her a gloating smile as he spoke.

"Now Commander I suggest you do as I say, I will kill him slowly before your eyes if you refuse. The collar has higher settings, especially if multiple rods are used in concert."

That might be enough to force her into an attack on the station before she was ready, and when she did he would be ready. The Hades was a powerful ship but he still had his station and its weapons... and more tricks in reserve the Federation aliens knew nothing about.

"What is your reply?"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Waagoshin Station, Waste reclamation section, Niglik Slave- Vazkak 1612)

The Niglik were agitated. And anyone who knows can tell you that an agitated Niglik is not someone that you want to be around. They have a tendency to gnash teeth and take on a spooky feral edge to all their movements. And if that wasn't scary enough, they were much worse when there were groups of them. An entire colony moved with an almost fluid movement, on a deeply instinctual level.

As the chemicals that caused them to become agitated flowed through their bodies, their chemistry changed. First their core body temperature began to drop, and this temperature drop allowed a pheromone that normally evaporated at normal body temperature for a Niglik to become airborne.

This particular chemical fueled some of the more primitive functions of the Niglik mind. It enhanced their otherwise dim telepathy, making them both more instinctively receptive and projective as well as increasing their aggressiveness. The more agitated they became, the more aggressive they became. It only took one to set off an entire colony.

Such an agitation was beginning presently. I beseech you for whatever aid you and yours can give.::

The Niglik leader immediately recognized the brush of the mind from the leader of the new aliens. He understood her words and he allowed himself to absorb the images and feelings that marked her recent memories of the space battle raging all around the system.

He had been a slave long enough and the insult to his people had been borne for a time that suddenly seemed to have been too long in passing. His agitation rose, like the slow bulge of a Tsunami before it rose to towering heights and crushing everything in it's path.

The Agitation was immediately apparent amongst the rest of the colony. With an almost spooky sense of unity, the individual members of the colony stopped as if suddenly hearing something for the first time in their lives. They rose from their work, congregating together gently touching hands although soon the pheromones would allow them to communicate with each other without the need of contact.

Vazkak reached out his hands, placing them gently on the shoulder of the closest of his colony mates, making contact with the entire collective mind of all the individuals present in the small chamber. He felt his mind expanding as the pheromones and the close proximity of the others merged with his own collective thoughts, granting him a strength and clarity that only a Niglik could understand.

::WE WILL AID YOU AND OUR ALLIES:: he replied, with a voice that thundered from the deepest recesses of his mind. It was even and calm although louder than he would have liked.

His strength was still growing, still expanding as the agitation was starting to reach the heights that had not been seen by his people for nearly two centuries.

He stretched out his mind, the collective thoughts and strength of the others of his colony aiding him until he made contact with the other colonies of Niglik on the planet's surface. There were thousands of them, perhaps tens of thousands and as he made contact with one, they began to congregate into small groups or larger groups equal to the collective members of their colonies.

Their minds joined and Vazkak shared with them the words and images of the battle taking place above their heads. He impressed upon them the desire to fight the Waagoshin overlords. To flood their areas with the agitating pheromone that would unite them into a cohesive deadly force of claws and teeth.

::KILL THE WAAGOSHIN!:: He prompted ::AID OUR ALLIES AND THROW OFF THE SHACKLES OF SLAVERY! REVOLT!::

Suddenly contact with all the individual colonies shattered as the individual groups each now driven to a near feverish pitch swarmed over their captors, rending them with teeth and claws.

They shattered their cages, destroyed their work areas and surged forward into the streets and corridors that their overlords had once considered safe.

Some died, killed by the blow of the Waagoshin overlords or by tooth and claw. The colony did not hesitate, they did not stop. They simply washed inland, slamming against barriers with a wild abandon and overwhelming every Waagoshin that they encountered.

On the Station, Vazkak simply commanded the colony to leave the waste reclamation areas and the entire colony began to tear up pipes, strip bots and use them to rip through the two heavy doors that separated them from the rest of the station.

They surged out into the corridor, nearly crawling over each other in an uncontrollable urge to destroy the Waagoshin that had treated them so terribly these many years.

Three Waagoshin alphas fell under the flurry of sharp claws and gnawing teeth as the swarm of Niglik slaves moved through the station in an attempt to aid those that they called their allies.

(USS Hades, Bridge, aCO Commander Eva Straton, 1613)

Eva met Sash's eye as he mouthed the word 'Don't'. Eva turned her gaze back to Alpha 1 but took this opportunity to send Sash a message.::Lt. Trinin is leading a rescue team to the station. We have allied with the Tch'Kairn. Hold on as long as you can.::

=/\="Now Commander I suggest you do as I say, I will kill him slowly before your eyes if you refuse. The collar has higher settings, especially if multiple rods are used in concert,=/\= Alpha 1 said in a gloating manner.Eva knew he was trying to goad her into making a mistake, acting out of anger before they were ready. =/\="What is your reply?=/\=

"I look forward to having your hide as a rug in my personal quarters," Eva replied, she then looked at Lt Adams. "End transmission."

(Reply Adams)

Once Alpha 1 disappeared from the view screen, Eva focused once more on the battle still waging around the Hades. ~I'll be damned if I let an overgrown poodle goad me into a tactical error on the battle field. Captain Sash will have to fend for himself till Trinin and the others can get to him.~ It wasn't an easy decision but command decision rarely were.

"Course change 156 mark 37," Eva ordered, "All weapons fire at will." The Hades changed course toward another formation of Waagoshin ships leading with a spread of quantum torpedo's and phaser fire.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Tch'kairn Orbit, Orbital platform, Waagoshin Commander Alpha 1 Day 19, 1615)

=^= I look forward to having your hide as a rug in my personal quarters,=^= The alien said sharply then ended the transmission abruptly.

Alpha 1 nodded smugly then spoke without turning his head. "Don't kill him for now, he might still be useful."

"Display the tactical situation on screen."

The viewer changed to show the ships in orbit around the planets in the system with the battle currently unfolding around the Tch'kairn homeworld holding center stage.

"How many ships are left?"

"Out of the sixteen in the attack fleet five have been destroyed, eleven remaining. Eight ships currently in reserve and supporting the garrisons on the third and fifth planets."

"Order the main fleet to disengage and pull back. They are to take up station near the platform and on the far side of the planet from the Hades, I want them held back for the final assault to support the station. Also what is the status of the garrisons?"

"Still no report from the garrison below us, the third and fifth report heavy casualties and loss of main batteries and shielding with enemy troops pressing hard. If we don't get them support they will fall soon."

"Pull the support ships back from them."

"What? But Alpha 1!"

He snarled menacingly as he met the gaze of his subordinate who quickly turned his head. "This station is more important, tell them to hold off as long as they can. After we destroy the Hades here we will retake our territory if necessary."

"Understood Alpha 1."

"Have them join the main attack force in support and scramble the fighters on Mexa."

The security alert alarm began to sound then.

"The slaves are revolting!" Someone shouted.

"Send whatever troops are necessary to put them down." He snarled, he had five hundred military personnel on the station, more than enough to put down any slave revolt.

"We have lost the communications link with Mexa!" Klk'shis reported. "It appears as though they have fallen."

Alpha 1 knew Sash would be taking this in, no doubt he was beginning to hope, a hope he would soon crush.

"Prepare the Magneton pulse array for deployment on my order, when they come in we will disable their ship." The magneton pulse would shatter their shields and fry their circuitry, an affect he was willing to allow to bring them into his clutches. He would have their technology yet. Oh, it would also kill most of their crew as well but so what?

Alpha 1 smiled ferally as his orders were being carried out. He would have the Hades yet.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Tch'Kair'n orbit, Orbital station, Detention Cell, CMO Angeni O. Windsong-Trommashere Day 19, 1635)

Angeni had stayed awake the entire night, pacing in her cell. She would never have believed it if she hadn't seen it with her own eyes, a bowl of water was placed in her cell every several hours. It wasn't much, but it was enough to make her feel comfortable. Suddenly the door swung open, and the medic walked in. He stated that she needed to have a follow up exam, and she complied with his wishes, not wanting to frighten him or scare him off.

"Take me where ever you want me to go."

"Take her to the medical ward." The medic grunted, and Angeni was lead off to the Medical Ward.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Tch'Kair, Orbital Platform- Detention level, - SO Lieutenant Baylon Trinin-1645)

Baylon ducked back behind the corner of the corridor as another volley of Waagoshin energy weapon's fire seared down the hall. They released enough heat into the air as they past to have raised the temperature in the corridor nearly ten degrees. It was a side-effect that Baylon would have preferred not to have realized.

The Betazoid security chief had managed to lead most of his team into the bowels of the station. They had linked up with one of the Tch'Kairn resistance here who had been leading them to the detention area where at least two of the Hades crew were being held.

They had mad fairly good progress, until they had hit this level and then things had seriously started to bog down. The Waagoshin holding area was well designed. There were nooks set into the corridor that offered the native defenders a strongpoint that had caused the federation team to slow their pace and start suffering from attrition.
Baylon himself had been injured in the latest of the battle against the Waagoshin. His left leg had been slashed by a Waagoshin Alpha that had managed to get too close to the man. His claws had torn a series of three parallel gashes into his left quadriceps. It hurt and it was still bleeding, since every single movement that they made kept the wound from closing properly.

Baylon leaned against the bulkhead and looked back at Stanley, one of the hand picked security officers assigned to the team.

He made a hand motion for grenades, and the man just shook his head indicating that they were out.

~Damn it~ Baylon cursed, mentally, then gave the man instructions to follow his lead.

With a nod and a deep breath, the Security chief swung around the corner, raising the nearly depleted Angel rifle and squeezed off three rapid fire shots into the Waagoshin officer to the left of the corridor.

The Fox-man yelped, then pitch backwards as the bolts tore through his torso and singed the wall behind him.

Half limping and half walking Baylon rushed down the corridor as quickly as possible . The Waagoshin on the right side of the corridor let loose a veritable barrage of weapons fire in his direction, but Stanley's suppressive fire made his shots swing wide, although not wide enough for Baylon's person preferences.

The Waagoshin broke cover, charging Baylon headlong with his weapon raised as if to strike him. They were too close for Baylon to get his weapon oriented properly, so he let the weapon drop, caught by the shoulder strap and with the practice of years of training, allowed his body to take over.

The security chief reached upwards, grabbed his opponent's downward swinging arm, and shifted it away from his skull. Then in a single fluid moment, he twisted his body and flung the Waagoshin soldier in a hip throw back first into the wall of the corridor.

The Waagoshin slammed into the wall back first and head down. Then gravity grabbed him and drove him into the floor of the deck head first. This would have disabled most opponents, but the Waagoshin were resilient creatures and the soldier tried to reach out for Baylon's ankle even as he hit the floor.

The security Chief snapped his hand downwards grabbing the hilt of his Andorian Chakra dueling dagger and withdrew it from his sheath. In a swift single motion, he drove the point of the blade downward through the lower jaw of the beast, where the soft tissue of the throat joined the jaw.

The Waagoshin jerked as the blade punched through the bottom of his skull and pierced his brain. They were death throws.

Baylon removed the blade, exhausted but determined to push on. He understood that his fatigue was more than just physical exertion. He understood that the blood loss from his previous wound was beginning to take it's toll.

The Chief stumbled as the pain in his leg reminded him of his injury. He would have fallen but someone grabbed his shoulder and held him up.

Baylon was surprised to see Doorman there, holding him up. The man had come a long way since the mission had started. He'd conquered most of his fear and had managed to stand beside the rest of the team during the assault. He was no means any better at hitting his targets with the phaser or in defending himself, but at least he wasn't as much of a liability as he had been.

"You okay, Lieutenant?" the scientist asked him.

Baylon nodded then sarcastically replied, "Just fine, Just thought it might be fun to nose dive into the deck."

The scientist frowned then let out a chuckle. "Well as long as you're alright." he commented.

The sheer audacity of the situation caused Baylon to smile and he forced himself to get the other leg under him.
With a little more assistance, he was upright once again and feeling like the proper descendent of some higher order primate.

They moved forward and Baylon was pleased to see that Eoin was working on the door to the detention area. The engineer had been invaluable and if he had not been able to figure out the alien's transporter controls this entire mission would have scrubbed.

As they waited for Eoin to finish his work, Baylon took a moment to take agood look at his crew. They were dirty, uniforms bloody and torn. But they were not beaten. The look of defiance was still glimmering in their eyes and they were still willing and able to bloody the Waagoshin's snout.

With a mechanical hiss the Hatch rolled open and a series of energy blasts snapped outward from the compartment beyond claiming another of the federation security officers.

Baylon glanced quickly around the corner and realized that they were now in the main detention block and that the compartment was laid out to provide maximum cover for the defenders of the block. Just beyond them, behind the wall of incoming fire were some federation Officers that he and his people were going to bring home.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Tch'Kair, Orbital Platform- Detention level, - aCEO Lieutenant Darla Wright- 1650)

Weapon's fire... Darla heard weapon's fire.

She snapped her head up from the work that she had been working on and smiled. Hanging from the ceiling of the cell and roughly soldered to the doorway of the small compartment that she called a cell were a series of wires that she had stripped from the ceiling lighting units and attached to the door frame. Some creative work and as soon as she could get the Waagoshin to touch the door, she'd be able to get free.

The weapons fire made things either a lot easier or a great deal more complicated.

She decided that now was the time to make her move.

With the make-shift taser still hidden up her sleeve, Darla moved to the back of the cell, turned her back to it and started screaming at the top of her lungs.

Amazingly enough, the security guards had the shortsightedness to check on her. Or at least they had tried to do so.

The guard made contact with the door, completing the circuit between the door and the control panel on the outside of the door. The electricity from the lighting unit, sparked as raw power surged down the line, through the door, through the guard and into the control panel.

The control panel, much to Darla's delight was not designed to handle the amount of energy suddenly surging through it and it, like so many other doors in a station, suddenly failed and locked open. The door snapped open with a pop and a shower of sparks as the wires were torn free. The Waagoshin on the other side of the door was dead, fried where he stood.

Darla quickly closed the distance between the back of the cell and the door, ducking low to avoid the exposed wiring that she had used to escape. She threw her shoulder against the heavy door and forced it open, sliding the dead Waagoshin along the floor as she moved.

There was another guard in the corridor and he was stalking her way, rod raised. She waited for him to close the distance before she rushed him.

He did exactly what she had hoped he would. The Guard realizing that she was valuable attempted to activate her obedience collar. The one that she had disabled earlier.

His face took on a look of shock as her shoulder slammed into his and drove him backwards into the wall. His head snapped backwards with a sickening crack and Darla stepped back quickly, ready to fight.

Instead of attacking however, the guard looked at her with glazed eyes and slumped into a heap at the base of the wall, his skull broken and trailing a red streak of blood behind him.

Darla didn't hesitate. She reached down and grabbed the rod, then returned to the first guard and relieved his still steaming corpse of his weapon as well.

She then set off down the corridor, opening each observation hatch looking for Angeni.

It took her longer than she would have liked, But she finally located the doctor's cell and quickly blasted the control panel to release the door.

The door snapped open and Darla pulled it open quickly.

"Angeni!" she said excitedly as she saw the woman in the cell. "I think the Calvary is here!"

As Angeni was scratching behind the ear of the Waagoshin Medic, she heard it; the sounds of weapon fire. She looked over at the door and watched the security guards dissapear with guns blazing. The medic darted for the door and opened it. Angeni realized that it was now or never. She picked up a heavy glass IV bottle and she chucked it at the head of the Medic.

The overgrown wolf turned on her with a vicious look in his eye. She reached to the metal table, grabbing the long muscle scalpel that sat glinting on the table. The Waagoshin charged her with everything he had. She dodged one swipe of his massive paw, but his counter with the other left a deep gash on her stomach. Angeni swiftly jumped up onto the surgical bed when she felt it. It reminded her of a seatbelt clicking together; the connection resurfaced, and she heard his voice ring loud and clear.

~Ang!~

~Harry!!!~ She thought as loudly as she could as she fended off the animal with a metal IV pole.

"Touche!...Ungarde!" She assumed a Fencers' stance and she batted the IV pole across his head and nose.

~I'm coming! Hold On!~

~Make it quick! Ahh!~

She was pushed off the table into a cabinet. She laid there weakly as the medic pounced on her. At least three hundred pounds of puppy laid on top of her. She struggled wildly, and she pulled her arm free, the one that was holding the scalpel and she thrust upwards into the beasts' neck.

He had obviously seen it coming, and his powerful jaws clamped on her arm and she let out a blood curdling scream as the scalpel dropped on her chest. She punched him with all her might square in the nose, and she heard him yip and scamper away. Without hesitation, she hopped up, her right arm dangling limply by her side, blood pouring down her finger tips. She held the scalpel in her left hand as she dove on top of him,and she didn't give him any chance to react as she plunged the scalpel into his throat and pulled upwards.

The spray of blood covered her jumpsuit, and she hopped up, darting out of the room before the Waagoshin body laid still.

Angeni saw a fallen guard, and she bent down, searching him for a weapon and she came up empty. She still held the scalpel, but she put it in her teeth so she could hold her arm above her head. She kept running, trying to get back to her cell. She didn't want the rescue party to bypass her, thinking she was in the cells when she was running willie nilly around the station.

The door was still cracked open when she darted in, and she closed it behind her, her chest heaving. She took the scalpel and she cut off a section of her pant leg, and she tied it around her bicep as a tourniquet. She grunted as the pain shot up into her neck, and she moved back to the furthest section of her cell, holding her scalpel, realizing it would be the only thing that would get her out alive.

She heard footsteps approaching, and her heart began to beat faster. A blaster sounded, and she heard the metal click of the door. Angeni stood up, the scalpel out in front of her, ready to attack anyone who came through.

"Angeni!" she said excitedly as she saw the woman in the cell. "I think the Calvary is here!"

Angeni ran up to Darla, hugging her tightly, "Thank the mother you are alright!" She stood back from the woman, a smile on her face. "I can feel Harry. They're here, I just don't know where. He called to me. I don't know where to go though, but I know we can't stay here. I just killed a medic, and I'm sure you had to bludgeon someone to get out of your cell...so if we hang around here, we're sure to get caught and killed."

(Reply Darla)

Angeni nodded and moved out of the doorway. She walked down a corridor, and she looked up on the wall. A small, 'you-are-here' kind of map rested on the wall, and she slipped the blade of the scalpel under one of the edges and popped it off the wall. She turned to Darla with a weak smile.

"An old Fire Fighting trick. You can take it with you and you constantly know where you are going."

She looked at the map, not understanding the characters, but she counted the rooms and could at least determine she was back in the corridor of the medical ward.

"I swear, they nabbed us just because we'd have little to no clue on how to defend ourselves, but we proved them wrong. When we get out of this, you name your poision, dinner and drinks are on me. Now, let's get the hell out of here. I think if we continue down this corridor, I think we can get to an open area."

She showed Darla the map, pointing to the larger area.

"But, I think we could be safe in the Medical Ward. The guards didn't see me leave, and the medic is dead..." She suddenly looked heartbroken, but she cleared her face and she grabbed Darla's hand.

"Let's get out of this hallway, anyone could see us before we see them."

She started walking quickly, taking a deep breath. She had no telepathic abilities what so ever, but she could feel Harry. She concentrated on a set of words and phrases, hoping he would pick it up.

~I am with Darla, we are heading to the Medical ward. The medical ward is approximately 300 meters from the detention cells. Just follow the trail of human footprints.~

As they moved, she began to get nervous. She was bleeding badly, and was leaving bloody footprints and drops as they moved. She shuffled her feet in certain places to make it look like someone was being dragged, and she even did a circle in place or two to try and confuse. Soon they reached the medical ward and she moved in, closing the door quietly behind them.

Angeni promptly slid down the wall, her face pale, but she still had a smile.

"Okay, your turn to come up with something. I'm spent...."

Harry leaned out away from the wall and fired another useless phased energy blast at the Waagoshin. They didn't even have the courtesy to duck when he fired at them. They ducked when everyone else fired though.

The scientist was feeling a bit under appreciated and still a little uncomfortable, when suddenly he sensed something.

Suddenly into the forefront of his brain was the presence of Angeni. She was experiencing some sort of strong emotion and Harry couldn't help butpick it up through the tentative link that they shared.

"Ang!" He said loudly, mirroring the word mentally as well as physically.

(reply Angeni)

::I'm coming. Hold on!::

(reply Angeni)

All thought of personal safety suddenly forgotten, Harry broke cover, carrying the Phaser rifle at his hip and just firing as rapidly as he could as he charged the room. The room full of Waagoshin.

"Ang!" He shouted as he charged.

He didn't know if it was sheer dumb luck or fate that carried him through, but the Waagoshin suddenly hesitated as if they were seeing something that they would never see again for the rest of their lives.

Harry charged forward, his blasts flying wild, slamming into consoles, equipment, walls and chairs. It was complete and total chaos and in those instants, Baylon and the rest of the team used the Waagoshin shock to their advantage. They charged in behind Harry firing much more accurate shots into the defenders.

Harry for his part went directly to the door at the back of the compartment. He reached down and worked the controls and was rewarded by the sudden and pleasing hiss of the door as it rolled open.

It was a very short lived reward however as suddenly from beyond that door,a Waagoshin soldier pounced, driving Harry to the floor even as he wrapped his thick sharp-clawed fingers around the scientists throat.

::Ang!::

::Harry!!!:: returned her weak response. And felt his heart surge with the desire to see her again.

All around him the chaos of the conflict was raging. Baylon and the other members of the away team were dealing with the last few Waagoshin soldiers that had been thrown into disarray by Harry's unexpected charge. He wasstill amazed that he was alive.

::I'm coming! Hold On!:: He sent even as he was slowly turning in place asif her were trying to find a direction from which her signal might bestronger.

::Make it quick! Ahh!::

There was a slight impression of pain and Harry found himself suddenly urged forward into immediate action. The normally peaceful scientist suddenly turned his phaser rifle over in his hand wielding it like a cricket bat and rushed towards one of the few standing Waagoshin soldiers. The wide swing caught the Waagoshin unawares since he had dismissed Harry as a threat. It caught him just below the ribs and the anger that was fueling the diminutive scientist lent strength to the impact. The Waagoshin huffed out a sudden puff of forcefully expelled air from his lungs and staggered backwards slightly even as he was doubling over in pain.

Harry swapped his grip and brought the rifle around a second time, this time like a golf swing, landing a telling blow against the Waagoshin's snout.

The fox-man yelped in pain, dropped his weapon and suddenly fell backwards onto the floor. Harry was far from finished with him however, He swung the weapon around, once again gripping it the way you should and pressed the killing end of the weapon against the Waagoshin soldier's chest.

"Where are the female prisoners taken from the Hades!" he barked, his anger and irritation lending a foul aspect to both his eye and his voice.

"I... I don't.." The Waagoshin began to say.

"Then you are useless to me!" Harry spat and made to pull the trigger.

"Wait!" The soldier sudden cried weakly. "They're in detention block three through those doors." he said and shifted his snout towards one of the closed doors which exited from the control block.

That's when Harry realized he had a problem. Logic dictated that he could not leave the Waagoshin behind him to potentially attack him or one of his friends nor could he just kill him in cold blood. At the same time he couldn't simply stand here holding the weapon against his chest either.

The Waagoshin solved the problem for him. Perhaps he saw the hesitation in Harry's eyes as he tried to work out his next move, or perhaps he thought that he really could wrest control of the rifle from the smaller scientist. Whatever the case, the Waagoshin tried to grapple the weapon away from him and harry, more out of panic than desire pulled the trigger.

The bolt burned a neat smoking hole right through the Waagoshin's chest and he spasmed a few times and died right there.

With no time to waste, and now free of a need to make a decision on the matter concerning the soldier's status, Harry turned toward the indicated door and tried to open it.

His first attempt failed and so harry tried something that he had seen in anold Holovid once, he fired his rifle into the control panel. Amazingly enough that did the trick. The doors jerked open and harry practically squeezed through them as soon as there was enough room to do so. Nothing was going to stand between him and Angeni.

He could tell that she was injured, it was a dull throbbing in the back of his brain. In the portion that registered the most primitive of needs; reproduction, survival, fear, hunger.
