Stardate:2406.07.02 Mission: Opportunities of Engagements/For are Sins, Day 6 Stardate: 2406.07.02 (USS Cochrane - Sickbay - CTAC/SC Ensign Griegor Romonov - 0345) Has she walked inside, she saw Ensign Romonov talking to a security officer. "Ensign Romonov... I would like to talk to you for a moment. I had an interesting conversation with one of the delegation of Ambassador Tahlmari." ~This should be good~ He thought "Yes Captian?" Griegor said with a salute. "Delegate Olga Ulbar, she hates the man, has to know if she is capable of murder that is something different. I want her discretly followed. I want to know when she is close to Tahlmari's family. I don't want her to be alone with them." "I already have the computer monitoring her in case she gets too close to the Tahlmari's. I'll also assign a man to keep a closer eye on her." Griegor said. "Yes... this situation is getting more interesting by the minute." Alexandra look around. She knew that Tahl wasn't there, but she also observed that Erebou's wife and children weren't here either. "Where is his wife and daughters?" "Last I checked they were with our Tahl" Griegor said. "Good... I will let him more time with them. They need to talk. Carry on Ensign and keep me posted." She smiled has she saw Ensign Romonov leaving for other duties. "One more think Captain" Griegor said just before he left the room. (reply Lowell) "I had this idea bouncing around that perhaps we can use holograms to imitate the Tahlmari family. Perhaps a photonic Erebou can make a remarkable recovery and be seen in the corridors." Griegor said "It might be worth a shot." (reply from Romonov) (Posted by Laurence Durand) Stardate:2406.07.02 Mission: Opportunities of Engagement/Four Our Sins, Day 6 Stardate:2406.07.02 (USS Cochrane - Sickbay - CO Lowell & FO Tahlmari - 0355) Alexandra was reading some stuff on a view screen when suddenly she felt a pain and needed to hold on to something. She knew that it had happen, Rose entered the room. "You better go after Tahl right now!" Rose gave a look to Karonyla. This one started to cry has she rush toward the bed of her husband. "I will stay with her... go!" Alexandra catch up her breath and despite herself, a tear was falling of her face. She let her instinct guide her and found herself in the mess Hall. (USS Cochrane- Mess Hall- FO- Lt. Cmndr Tahlmari-0359) After wandering the halls for a while Tahl found himself outside the mess hall. He went in to find it empty. He wasn't exactly sure what he was looking for, or even what was going through his head. He did know that he needed to be alone, and this was as good a place as any. He got himself a cup of coffee and sat at the window, staring out into space. He really didn't understand his feelings. Yesterday, if he had heard his father was dead, he might have been bothered by it, but not so upset as he was now. Had his father's words touched him so much? Was that act of contrition so powerful? Is that all Tahl had been looking for all those years? Alexandra saw him by the window, looking at the stars. She knew that he felt her and he sat on a chair, he was feeling so many emotions. She walk up slowly to him, she couldn't say anything. When she arrived, she put her hands on his shoulder, he was tense and also tired. It was giving him a headache. Then he felt Alex's presence. Her calming emotions running through his own mind. He couldn't look at her. He was trying to hold himself together. When she put her hand on his shoulders he turned and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her to sit beside him. He could feel her sympathy and it hammered at his emotional dam. "Honey," she said. Then he buried his head in her chest and let the dam burst. Tears began to flow freely. "Don't stop," Alex said, "I'm right here for you... No matter what." Tahl cried for a while until he got hold of himself again. He gave Alex a kiss on the cheek, then looked out the window again. "I really don't understand why I'm so upset," he finally said. "He had been such a batard to me all my life, then he shows up like this and dies on me. I should be happy, or at least feel ..., I don't know, vindicated. Why am I so sad?" "You are not bad Sweetheart... you'r angry, you feel hurt and it's normal." She pass her hand through his hair and close her eyes. "Despite everything he has done, you still love the man and that's why it hurts right now. Let go of that pain and anger Tahl, I'm right her to catch you no matter what. You know that it's just hurting you and your family needs you." Alexandra concentrate on her feelings for Tahl and just let that shine through in hope that it would help him. Tahl closed his eyes, still fighting his own emotions. There was something to that Vulcan detatchment. All he could feel was the dark emptiness of his anger and sadness. A pit of dipair that had little offering of relief. His mind was simply black. Then he saw it. A little spark of light. It twinkled like a solitary star in the night sky. Then it got a little brighter and a little bigger. As the bright star got larger inhis mind a warm feeling began to fill Tahl's soul. He realized that the warm feeling and bright star were none other than Alex's presence. Somehow, she was giving him a light to look towards. He felt his spirit lighten and he chuckled. He looked at her for the first time since her arrival in mess hall. He made a sly look around and then planted a kiss on her. With a smile he said, "What would I ever do without you?" He held onto her tightly and let a tear fall. What is ahead of us is difficult and I know it's asking a lot of you. I just hope that at the end of all this, you have the family you deserve. You will not be any good to them if you do not rest... Where you able too?" Tahl let out a little laugh. "Sleep? I've kind of forgotten what that was. "It's the same for me, it's difficult to find sleep when you are not there... so let's go take a nap and you can tell me everything your father told you. Tahl nodded and arose from his seat. He left his cup of coffee, untouched and walked out of the mess hall, holding Alex's hand, headed back to thweir quarters. As the door to the mess hall closed Tahl said in a most mischievious voice, "Nap? You want to take a nap?" He could see Alex roll her eyes, but she was still smiling. Let's try this again with the right setting. (USS Cochrane- Deck 5- Personal Quarters- FO- Lt. Cmndr Tahlmari-0705) Erebou Tahlmari looked up from his bed. His eyes were barely open and the fetid smell of death poured from his mouth. It made Tahl's stomach churn, and he tried to turn away. But for some reason he was not able to move. Then a cold hand reached up and grabbed hold of Tahl's arm. He stared at Tahl with accusing eyes. "There's a traitor," he said. Tahl tried to pull his arm away, but the grip was too tight. The more he pulled the longer his father's arm seemed to be. Soon he had managed to stretch the arm to the other side of the room. Suddenly there was a snap. Tahl sat up in bed with a start. He was breathing a little heavily. The first thing he noticed was that he was cold. Then he felt the seperation from Alex. Slowly he became aware of his real surroundings and the memory of the dream began to fade into the background of his mind. Tahl got out of bed and padded into the dining area. he came up behind Alex and put his arms around her. She turned her head and they kissed. Then Alex got up from the table and got ready to leave. He remembered that she had an appointment with Captain Winterborn of the Discovery, and decided to help her on her way out with a smack on the back side. Then he turned to the food on the table. He took a few bites of the waffles she had prepared but decided he wasn't hungry. The darkness of his mood was returning. He knew that he was going to have to face his mother and sisters. He went to the sonic shower and took a long shower. Then he took his time getting dressed. Still he had no idea what to say to his mother. She had to know what was going on. He looked at himself in the mirror. He might as well get this over with. With a heavy sigh he headed out the door. He paused for second and drew on his mental strength. Mentally, he looked over his shoulder, to see Bob standing there giving him the thumbs up. ~Go get 'em big fella.~ Then Tahl went to find his mother. Cmndr Tahlmari-0705) Tahl stood outside the door for a full minute before he decided to announce his presence. The sound of the tone brought a shuffle of feet and a little noise. Tahl was relieved to see that it was his little sister, Sudress that opened the door. Her eyes were still red and puffy from crying. They both stood there for a moment, in silence, and suddenly Sudress threw herself into Tahl's arms. She buried her face into his chest and let out a huge sob. Tahlput his arms around her and stroked her hair. He realized that they were still in the hallway, so he picked her up in their embrace and stepped inside the room to allow the door to close. Then he put her back down on her feet and looked into the room. Sitting on the sofa were his mother and older sister, Druleana. They both glowered at him, but he ignored it. He walked Sidress over to the sofa, holding her hand and sat her next to her family. Then he stepped back and sat in the chair across from them. "So,: his mother began, "you finally deamed us worthy of a visit." Tahl didn't say anything. The only words that came to him would not have been helpul at this time. But the words spoken to him dug deep. Druleana could no longer hold her tongue. "So after all this time, you finally take the one thing from us you could. Our final moments with OUR father. That is so typically selfish of you, Yldarim." Tahl looked back at his sister coldly, remembering all the times she taunted him over his affliction. "The choice for me to leave when I did was ot mine," Tahl stated calmly. "Nor was it my choice to have father die at that particular moment. But that is done, and we need to look to now and the future." Druleana snorted, "Future, with you." "Enough," Karonyla said. Then she turned to her daughters. "Leave us." Sidress protested, "But mother, I want to stay with Yil." "I said leave us," she was stearn, but not cruel with it. She just needed the girl to know that she meant what she said. Drulean also began to speak, "But..." "Do as you're asked," her mother odered. The two girls bowed their heads and left the room, leaving Tahl alone with his mother for the first time in over ten years. Captain Nigel Winterborn - 0730) Nigel stood on the Cochrane bridge and moved around looking at the various officers positions and read of their displays. It was in no doubt in Nigel's mind that is bound to be quite annoying to have a Captain lurking over a shoulder. As Nigel moved into the centre of the bridge a voice called him he turned around and face the voice, smiling at the Captain she spoke. "Captain, it seem that you were waiting on me... I'm sorry. Early this morning Ambassador Tahlmari died." "I'm sorry to hear that, please pass my condolences on to your Commander." "And it was a long day yesterday. Do you want a private breakfast in my office? Or in Ten Forward? You have the choice." ?Well your ten forward sounds promising,? Nigel stated smiling. "Anything to report anyone before I go eat breakfast?" As the officer replied to the Captain Nigel began to make his way to the tubolift. Moving slowly feeling every inch of railing to hold him up, it was starting to get worse. The bridge began to move and sway, Nigel placed his other hand on the railing to support his weight. This shouldn?t have been happening he should have had more time. (Reply Any) (Posted By Richard) Stardate:2406.07.02 Mission: Opportunities of Engagement/Four Our Sins, Day 6 Stardate:2406.07.02 (USS Cochrane - Bridge - CO Lowell - 0730) Alexandra woke up at 0700 hrs refreshed and let Tahl sleep, making sure that bed covers were keeping him warm, she knew that a little draft would woke him up. She had a breakfast invitation with Captain Winterborn and she didn't want to eat yet. Sitting at the diner table, she consulted the reports of the night. So far so good, nothing crazy happenned. Just before she was about to leave, Tahl woke up, they kiss and she told him that breakfast was ready and left for work. She knew that he would go see his mother and sister, just like him, they needed some time alone. When she arrived on the bridge, she saw that Captain Winterborn was waiting on her and looking around. "Captain, it seem that you were waiting on me... I'm sorry. Early this morning Ambassador Tahlmari died." (Reply from Winterborn) "And it was a long day yesterday. Do you want a private breakfast in my office? or in Ten Forward? You have the choice." (Reply from Winterborn) Alexandra turn around the bridge. "Anything to report anyone before I go eat breakfast?" Cmndr Tahlmari-0900) Tahl sat at his desk for a moment and looked around the room. Alex had managed to do a little magic with the decor, but it was still pretty sparse. He remembered his fathers office. it was full of memeorabelia, and gifts of appreciation from all of the worlds he had visited. He was a little disturbed by what his mother had to say. Most of the universe seemed to love his father. Of course, they never had to live with him. But Erebou Tahlmari was always better at accepting the differences of others, unless they were his own children. He looked at his terminal and saw that the autopsy results had come in. As he read through those, less and less of his father's death was making any sense. He needed to find out what had happened. And why his father believed that the family was in still in danger. something was wrong. Tahl hit his com badge. "Tahlmari to Ensign Romonov, report to my office immediately." This was going to require some looking into, and he was going to need some help. (reply Romonov) (posted by Al Muir) Stardate:2406.07.02 Mission: Opportunities of Engagements/For are Sins, Day 6 Stardate: 2406.07.02 (USS Cochrane - Bridge - CTAC/SC Ensign Griegor Romonov - 1141) =^=Captain Lowell, we have problems in engineering, I suggest erecting force fields around all eps junctions and evacuating crew to areas as far away as possible from any junctions. Im evacuating most of engineering except for a few who are going to try and repair the damage,=^= "Activate, emergency transport send the crew to Geneva and erect forcefield on all eps junctions. Set up communication to stay open, I want to hear what is going on... Now ensign Romonov. What is the worse case scenario Ensign Kara?" Alexandra activated the red alert. "You got it" Griegor yelled as his fingers flew around the console. =^=Well Captain worse case we will have a warp core breech but I think more likely is the plasma conduits will blow and we will have a lot of damage to the vessel. However captain I would like that all engineers that are evacuated are contained we may be facing sabotage. No way could this be a accident or natural,=^= The word sabotage caused Griegor's eyebrow to raise slightly. "EPS junctions secured, transport of personell in progress" Griegor said. Cmndr Tahlmari-1142) Tahl had been studying some reports in his office when the alert came over his screen. Immediately he dropped what he was doing and headed to the bridge. He could sense Alex's tension as the door opened, then he could feel the overall tension on the bridge. He grabbed a crewman who quickly explained that a warp core breach was in progress and the Chief Engineer was working on stopping it. Tahl moved down to the command center of the bridge. He sat at his seat and pulled out his computer screen. He followed the progress of the power spikes through out the process. As each relay blew, he could predict where the next one would be and attempted to reroute power from those areas as quickly as he could. His terminal was too limited so he made his way to the empty engineering station. Suddenly the ship jumped to warp. Inertial dampeners took a second to kick in and he felt the drag into warp space. As the ship stopped deas, the plasma vented into space. Suddenly the ship rocked a little as main power relays exploded. He watched his screen as plasma fires started. He sent a command for repair teams and firefighters to head to engineering. Kara called the bridge with the report of what Tahl had already seen. =^=One good thing Captain,=^= Kara said, =^=we have coms so we can call for help=^= "And help is on its way," Tahl replied. He looked at Alex before leaving. "I'll be in engineering." He could see the look of concern on her face, and managed a smile and a wink. Then he made his way to the turbo lift. Cmndr Tahlmari-1150) Tahl moved quickly around the repair crews as he entered main engineering. Most of the people werestill out in the hallway, since the fires were putting out so much smoke. He grabbed a breathing mask off a firefighter and moved in. HIt didn't take him long to find Kara. She was, of course, in the middle of all the chaos. The heat was nearly unbarable. He removed his jacket as he approached the fire. Tahl put his hand on Kara's shoulder, and she turned to face him. "Report Ensign!" he shouted over the roar of the fire.
