Mission: The Prisoners Dilemma Day 2-3
Stardate 2406.03.11

Day 2
(USS Spectre, Sickbay, Felicity Wells,19:48)
(planetary surface, temporary encampment, Ensign Rak'han, 20:35)
(Planet - medical campsite - ACMO Anderson - 20.36)
(Planet - medical campsite - CMO Cambridge - 20.36)
Day 3

(USS Spectre, Bridge, CSO Ensign(Jg) Octan Maber - 00:01)
(USS Spectre - Computer - 00.01)
(planet's surface, camp, Kahila Lono, 00.50)
(The Lower Cradle, ACEO, Ensign(jg) Hank Longfellow - 01.00)
(USS Spectre, Personal Quarters, CO, Captain Remae - 02.45)
(USS Spectre, CSO's office, CSO Ensign Octan Maber - 04:20)
(planet's surface, camp, Kahila Lono, 6:10)
(Base Camp, CO, Captain Remae - 07.00)

(USS Spectre, Sickbay, Felicity Wells,19:48) Kahila knelt beside Claire and spoke softly to her, when she had finished she stood and spoke. "If this is caused by the nano infection, it's the first instance I've seen of it. And it's certainly a remarkable change in its manifestation." The ship was now beginning it's positioning for landing making it impossible to stay steady. "We should secure ourselves" Kahila pointed out. Felicity braced herself for the landing, she new it wasn't going to be easy, She had strapped Claire as securely as possible, then she and ensign Robinson secured themselves for the landing. Felicity turned to Ensign Robinson "We have no idea how this is going to turn out, while we have time I'd like to thank you for your help today you were really great" she smiled warmly. "It was my pleasure" said Robinson, "I am amazed you have bounced back after you 4 year hibernation in the animation chamber" "I can't believe it either" she hesitated "em what's your Christian name we've been working side by side and I have no idea what to call you other than Robinson" He smiled back at her, "Felicity, it's nice to meet you" he held out his hand "you can call me zak" they shook hands warmly. Felicity was happy to make her first friend on the Spectre. If they got out of this one alive, she was going to have to get used to this new life and make new friends, she had only met a handful of people so far and it had been in the midst of chaos. ~Things surely can't get any worse~ Felicity and Zac braced themselves for the landing. posted by Jen Keen (reply , no need)

Saurik nodded to the First Officer, then turned and headed for the
perimiter, which he'd set up far enough away from the encampment proper that
the small amounts of technology that were being used there, mainly weapons,
wouldn't be affected by the infected crew. He set about organising orders
for his abscence and selecting his team. In under three-quarters of an hour
he and his team slipped over the trench and headed out into dusk.

(planetary surface, Ensign Rak'han, 23:50)

Saurik held up a hand and the other security personel halted behined him,
his bionic eye whirred slightly as it enlarged the image he was focusing on,

"Johnson, where was that indiginous village with the scavanged Romulan kit?"

"Several clicks to our rear, past the encampment."

Saurik nodded and turned back to his team,

"Follow me, and stay quiet."

Stardate 2406.03.11

(planetary surface, Ensign Rak'han, 00:50)

Saurik glanced around him, holding his Angel in a ready position, there were
pieces of Romulan technology scattered around him. All apparently broken,
and they'd found several shreds of what looked like hull coating. Green hull
coating no less. He turned around and glanced at the others,

"OK, I'd guess that if the ship these came from is still around, it'll be
cloaked."

He paused for a moment, trying to work out how find it, then smiled wryly
and hit his combadge,

=^= Rak'han to Lono, can you send one or two of your infected crewmembers to
our current location. Make sure they're sturdy, it's a few ours over the
hills. Or you could fly out here, but I don't think there's anyone other
than you at the camp who's qualified to pilot a shuttle manually. =^=

Rain looked around the campsite feeling a wave of depression wash over
her. She begun to feel that the situation was hopeless and she would be
stuck living in a tent with a nanoprobe community camping out amongst
her synapses until she died.

Security details had been detached to guard the campsite and food and
medical supplies were being off-loaded. Tents had been erected and
bedding installed in them. The campsite was beginning to take shape, but
Rain would rather have been anywhere but here.

Dr Cambridge approached her and she smiled glumly at him.

"Next move?" he said.

Rain wished she had a "right" answer for him.

"I'm willing if you want to cut my head open and have a look inside."
She said only half-jokingly. "I don't know.... I've come up with a
multitude of options, but none seem feasible. What about a vaccine to
destroy them? Make the body inhospitable to nanoprobes some how? Cut
them out with a knife? Learn to live with them? Take up subsistence
farming on a small planetoid in the neutral zone in an area populated by
Xenolithe? Communicate with them and ask them to leave peacefully? I
just don't know, Mac." She said using his nickname for the first time.
"I wish I did know. Are my eyes glowing yet?

It was a startling moment to hear his assistant chief medical officer
use his nickname for the first time, but it was refreshing and warming.
Cambridge smiled slowly.

"No, no glowing yet." He checked her vitals once more. Whatever it
was, it was still becoming a problem. "We'll take some more looks at
this thing. I've got a date with a pile of reports in the tent. We're
going to get this thing beat. Trust me Rain...I'm not going let this
get the best of us."

Cambridge touched her shoulder, and headed to his tent, already tired of
the day as it was going.

(USS Spectre, CSO's office, CMO Cambridge - 04:15)

It had been a long night. More or less, it had been a very grueling
night. The Chief Medical Officer had spent the last few hours poring
over the documents he was facing on his desk. Little sleep had met
Maxwell during the time he had stared down the piles of PADDs.

Now, he was receiving a message to see someone named Octan Maber. He
and Ops chief Gort were to meet the man on the Spectre as soon as
possible. Cambridge wasn't looking forward to dealing with more
possibles. He needed solutions. And he needed them now. He quickly
snagged his things and made his way to the Spectre, and found himself
and Gort in front of the Chief Science Officer.

"Good morning, gentleman. Sorry for getting you up at this hour, but I
might have an idea on this nanoprobe thing. Octan Maber, CSO."

'Mac' reached his hand out and shook the man's hand.

"Before I tell you what I found, would both of you please tell me
everything you know about these nanoprobes, in case I missed something."

Cambridge simply handed the man a PADD. "It's all there...I'm too tired
to think about any of it anymore...all due respect."

Day 3
(USS Spectre, Bridge, CSO Ensign(Jg) Octan Maber - 00:01)
<<Currently 11 living crewmembers and one deceased are infected with the
unidentified nanoprobes. These crew are Lt Kahila Lono, Ensign Rain
Anderson, Crewman Horatio Tyrell, the security chief Lt Orde, and seven
other marine and security personnel. The deceased crewman is Ensign
Walker, the CSO. A cause of death has not been established.

Symptoms have been catalogued as an increasing EM disturbance emanating
from the infected which reacts with all electronic equipment. There has
been one documented instance of an energy emanation from the eyes and
one suspected case of death.

It is hypothesised that the nanoprobes infected the bodies during a trip
to a Nageri bioship and are of Xenolithe origin. Research into the
nanoprobes has been entered into the file by Lt Gort. Ensign Anderson,
Lt Cambridge, Crewman Tyrell and Ensign Walker. Would you like to review
this now?>>

"Yes," Octan replied, rather gruffly. He was starting to get tired after his
long trip, but knew he wouldn't be able to sleep. He was excited to
finally be aboard the Spectre, doing the work he was somehow meant to do.

Octan spent the next hour reviewing data on the disease. He spent another
hour on the crew roster, trying to learn as much as he could about his
fellow
shipmates. He was surprised to find two other ranking Science Officers
among the crew. Why wasn't one of them offered the CSO position?

Especially since his ACSO, Tanya Leigh Dervin, outranked him! That would
be weird... Definitely something to take up with the Captain later.
Organising
his department could also wait - for now, Octan had an idea.
(USS Spectre, Research Section, CSO Ensign(Jg) Octan Maber - 04:00)
"Yes!" Octan shouted! He had been going at it for two hours and finally
found
something that might work.
(USS Spectre - Computer - 00.01)
"Computer! Please display all records on the current disease infecting
Spectre crewmembers. Specifically, which crewmembers are infected,
nature of the disease, cause and possible solutions so far suggested.
Also, please tell me the locations of Dr Cambridge and Lt Gort"
