Gregory spun around in the chair while Dr. Solace and Lieutenant Pex 
chatted.

"You know, I am right here.  I can hear everything you are saying," he 
said looking at them.  "You can't escape me that easily.  Mr. Pex, this 
will be a great opportunity to share our love of engineering."

Pausing, "Or we could pay Chess, in our minds." Gregory put his hands to 
his head,  Queens pawn... 1-d4." he said miming moving a piece on an 
invisible board.

"Your move, Mr. Pex."
