(Shuttle Leif erickson - Pilot Cockpit - Csec/Tac- Lt. Commander T’Mur - 1129)

The sensation struck T’Mur like slap in the face. She had felt it before… from Sienna. It was a sense of despair and sadness. She glanced over at Sekal for a moment but he seemed completely focused.

The “feeling” was not from anyone on the shuttle. It was from… outside. For a moment she felt the urge to cry, but managed to contain herself. Then she had a desire to find her mate and hold her for an unmeasured amount of time. She needed to feel her love.

Sekal’s voice brought her attention back to what she was doing. "Cast off!" His voice seemed strained as well.

“Casting off,” she said, once again focused. But that feeling of loss still nagged at her.

She released the docking clamps and veered the shuttle away from Ixtal at half impulse. It took a moment for the inertial dampeners to kick in. Suddenly there was a lurch as if something had struck the shuttle.

She heard Sekal saying, "We must get far away quickly." Then he appeared at the navigator's seat.

T’Mur was already accelerating to full impulse, but it was barely keeping them ahead of the shockwave of the Ixtal’s explosion. Tendrils of energy licked at the shuttle's nacelles, causing it to buck and spin.

T’Mur looked at the captain briefly then turned back to her controls, “We are getting caught up in the outer limits of the Ixtal’s warp core breach, but will be clear soon.”

True to her word the ship regained full control. There had been a glow growing around the shuttle that subsided and T’Mur was able to slow the shuttle down to make the ride smoother.

Dr. Kyllee appeared to deliver his news. The feeling of despair seemed to lessen just in time for their own to begin.

“I am invoking a quarantine doctor,” Sekal said, “all aboard the shuttle will be isolated from the rest of the ship until it is determined whether we are infected with or are carriers of the contagion."

Stev nodded, “A … logical action. I’ll start preparing the others.” Then he went back to the passenger section as Sekal gave his orders to the Illuminar.

Five minutes later T’Mur parked the shuttle on the bay plating. She tapped her comm badge.

“T’Mur to Commander Verin, we back on the main Shuttlebay. Commence medical transport when ready.”

(reply Verin, Aggie)
