Mission: Exogenesis
Day: 4
Stardate: 2446.06.04

 (Ixtal - Deck 6 - Primar Docking Egress - CO, Captain Sekal -- 1128)

The doctor and his assigned security had just exited the port, he turned
and motioned T'Mur to proceed him when something, a feeling hit him out of
nowhere. It seemed as though he remembered sensing the fringe of it while
on the ship, an oppression like a dark cloud, a hint of sadness.

Now as he turned to enter the shuttle it descended on him full force
causing him to turn and look back as tears sprang unbidden to his eyes, an
involuntary reaction to a previously and relatively unknown emotion. Pets
pass while one is young, fathers go off to space leaving behind an empty
space into which emotion drains longing and despair.

This emotional well however closed in from all around, seeming to hang in
the very air which dripped tears. One million beings in mourning may have
approached the clinging sensation. Hundreds, thousands may have been
overcome by it, their joints locked and staring eyes fixed on nothing.

(Reply: Any)

He shook his head as though to clear it from an emotional vise and forced
himself to move against the veil of sadness which drained the strength from
his limbs, stumbling through the hatch and falling to his knees in the
aisle as the blur of faces, turning to look at him with concern played out
before him.

"Cast off!" He croaked as loudly as he could, his voice carrying to the
cockpit.

(Reply: T'Mur)

There was a jolt as the Leif Erickson detached from the ship and
accelerated away, he fought to his feet, shrugging off the hands that were
attempting to help.

"We must get far away quickly."

(Reply: Any)

The shuttle lurched and he was thrown into a spin, he caught the back of a
seat with his left hand which kept him from being catapulted across two of
the crew, instead he stumbled forward, catching the jam of the door to the
pilot cabin and managed to push himself to the navigators chair which he
dropped into.

(Reply: T"Mur)

His fingers danced over the controls bring up an aft view of the screen of
the Ixtal's plasma cloud continuing to expand, the brightness of it caused
the screen to reduce its brightness to compensate for the flash. The
overwhelming sadness decreased with distance, fading out as they exited the
storm and leaving emptiness behind.

(Reply: T'Mur, any)
