Mission: For Honor
Day: 7
Stardate: 2446.05.01

(USS Illuminar — Deck 4 — Explorers Lounge (Prancing Pony) — aCSO — LT
tlha'nISta' — 2002)

tlha'nISta' enjoyed parties. She was rarely invited to any. There were of
course celebrations aboard pirate ships that revelled in this successful
raid or that. Vulcans, Lani' judged based on her time on their planet, did
not "party."

There were numerous social gatherings during Lanista's Academy years, but
she was not invited to most of them. Her bearing and demeanor were
off-putting to many of her classmates. She was physically taller and
notably stronger than the majority of them. And her disposition was viewed
as "too Klingon" by many. Lanista did occasionally (sporadically) "date"
but she developed a reputation for being somewhat too aggressive. Her
Lanista's Klingon heritage made her Vulcan «plak tow» ("blood fever")
seemingly permanent! Lanista's emotions were always intense, and she was
considered by her peers to be "too subject to primal urges."

>From Graduation onward, Lanista focused on her work — in whatever her duty
assignments were, with standard Starfleet or SFI. There was a brief
sabbatical during which she returned to her birthplace, the privateer
*chalche'yon*. She engaged in almost strict professionalism then, too,
engaging in only a few intimate dalliances. In Federation territory,
though, supposition regarding her "social life" revolved around the belief
that "what happens on the holodeck stays on the holodeck."

And so … Lanista expected to enter the Prancing Pony and sit alone,
enjoying warnog while participating in the spirit of showing support to a
colleague. She dressed in one of her off-duty outfits, one with an
exceptionally Klingon motif given the intent advertised for the gathering.
She was surprised to see that the compartment was decorated in the fashion
of a Klingon celebration hall. The lights were dim and there was loud
music. There were several Klingons present, some of them singing — one of
them despite having a horrendous singing voice. One had to admire his
spirit, if nothing else… Fortunately, he drained his flagon, froze
momentarily, then proceeded to fall backwards off of his stool and lay
unconscious on the floor. The entire group looked down at him silently for
a moment, then burst into laughter.

It was then that Lanista noticed that Councilman Pe'tah had entered. He
walked towards the bar and then caught sight of tlha'nISta'. Making his way
through the throng with a flagon in each hand, Pe'tah said, “May I offer
you some of this Bloodwine. It smells quite strong.”

Though Lani' preferred warnog over bloodwine, she accepted the flagon
graciously and sniffed deeply. "It does indeed, but not so strong as the
warrior who carried it, I expect," she quipped good-naturedly. "Will you
sit?" she asked, gesturing at an empty chair near hers.
