"Now Luma, let's start over please. I have the messages you intercepted. And I understand you have put Ensign Dyson in time out," he added. "We will get to the bottom of this," he said. "Promise."

Suddenly Temas appeared and said, “What are we getting to the bottom of?”

Luma looked down at Gregory, then modulated her size to be closer to that of her beloved Small Ones. =^= Want to talks in the ready room?=^=

Gregory made a gesture towards the Ready Room and Luma 'walked' over to the door, and it opened. Watching closely she disengaged the bridge holo-emitters and re-appeared inside the smaller Ready Room. Temas followed them in.

Luma turned to Gregory, shifting from her crystalline to her more humanoid (and very anime like) feline form, a visible display of purple. Purple fur, hair, cream tipped ears and purple eyes. It looks like she combined the various things she liked about the humanoid forms into one very odd looking being.

=^= The Dieter will tell Luma now if that Dyson is an SFI-bad-one. Luma was assured by her -brother and father- that there would be no SFI-bad-ones outside of that Weston that makes our Quinna happy. =^= Indeed Luma was not thrilled.

“Luma. Mr. Dyson has come to us via an unusual path. In my observations of him, he seems to talk a good game, and has been several instances of borderline insubordination. He also has an overinflated ego and his general value to the ship and fleet.”

Gregory paused. “Look at this first message, assuming he can ask for personal leave for both himself and Ensign Long, and that it will be granted. That is not how the chain of command works. Add to that the preliminary report from Commander T’Mur about the Ensign’s actions yesterday, there is no way that she would be granted Shore Leave. At the very minimum, there must be an inquest into Ensign Long’s actions, which would result in a recommendation as to further actions, if warranted, up to and including a general court marshal, although in my opinion after reading preliminary reports, this should be handled at office hours.”

Luma did not understand the rules that the small ones had to obey always when part of the starfleet, but she did understand the emotions that accompanied consequences. She knew that Gregory was working up to something. Sometimes Luma thought that Gregory was really part Vulcan, so she kept trying to see if he had sprouted the pointy elf ears. She listened as Gregory continued to talk.

“The use of alternative communication methods is not, in and of itself, a suggestion of malfeasance. I will need to do some further investigations as he does reach out and discuss more disturbing things,” Gregory said.

Luma simply crossed her arms under her chest and glared, =^= Is wrong to send details about the skin..the ship..when the skin is broken. It could be intercepted by the bad ones!=^=

Turning he looked as Temas entered the room. “Ah, Mr Laredo, thank you for coming. I assume Luma has let you know why you are here?”

He nodded, “I’m aware that Luma is concerned about Dyson and that he is now on “time out”. However, the details were very unclear. Something about him sending messages in a very SFI kind of way.”

Luma hmphed. =^= That Dyson is not welcome back on the skin until the Dieter ascertains that that Dyson is not an SFI-bad-one. =^= It wasn’t as if SFI was known for it’s honesty. =^= Would that Weston even know if that Dyson was an SFI-bad-one ? =^=

Dieter handed a PADD to Temas, “As you can see from this transcript, he has started by violating Star Fleet policy and the chain of command. Next he’s sending a coded message through one of those subspace frequencies used by people to pass messages. And you can read the rest. It definitely smells like a way to avoid detection. Hence Luma’s ‘intuition’ makes sense.”

Gregory watched as Temas reviewed the material. “So, Mr. Lorado, I have an inherent bias against telepaths and what they can do, so I want that out in the open. That being said, I am also an engineer, and not used to the nuances of reading people, except around a poker table. But it is clear that something is not what it seems with Mr. Dyson. Now the chain of command protocol I can deal with. The rest I’d like Mr. Weston’s read on this, as well as you to help interpret him and help Luma understand.”

Temas read the PADD and sighed heavily. The code that he was using was very child like. If he were to guess it would have been something he developed with his friend in the orphanage. However, the fact that he was considering what he was doing while they were on mission and in dangerous territory, and directly after an attack on the Luminar was concerning.

“I understand Luma’s concerns,” Laredo finally said, “although I don’t share them. This is not a complex code that a trained operative would use. In fact, it is so easy to decipher I’m surprised he would use it, other than to convey a familiarity with the recipient.”

He handed the device back to Gregory pointing out certain points in the message. “I know, from prior conversations with him, that this Joker is an old friend from his childhood.” He pointed to a second point, “I’m not sure who this Rox is but I do know that he believes he has a child on New Romulus. They might be related. Some of the others are beyond my knowledge of the man. But it appears he is a man who enjoys making situations more complicated than they need to be.”

=^= That Dyson is not the SFI-bad-ones? That Weston has confirmed? Even though that Weston is…burns?=^= She tried to use the terms that the others did. =^= Luma’s Temas is sure that that Dyson is not going to harm the skin? =^=

Temas smiled and sent Luma a wave of assurance, “I can’t say for certain Luma. If you’d like to check with Mr. Weston when he returns, to be certain. But I would like to speak with him before that.”

He turned to Gregory and smiled, “Perhaps the both of us could get our questions answered at the same time Commander?”

“That seems agreeable. Luma would you move him to the brig for the moment rather than the timeout shuttle. He knows your power, and the brig may be a bit intimidating for him, as well as more comfortable for Temas and myself.”

Luma was sulking but she listened. The Dieter was trying to do Luma’s Sienna’s job. That meant she had to give into reasonable requests. And the Dieter was doing a decent job. So Luma nodded.

=^= Done. That Dyson is in the brig. Luma is not allowed to use the holo-emitters in the brig without permission. The Dieter, Luma wants to be present please.=^=

::I will be open to you the whole time, Luma,:: Temas assured her.
