(Qo’nos - Diplomatic Quarters- SFI Office - SFI - Lt. Michael Weston - 0948)


Michael had been standing against a wall watching everything unfold before him, including the battle of wits between McKenzie and the new CSO, Lt. Lanista. He wondered why she was clearly, purposely, antagonizing the ambassador.


He had looked up her file to find much of it heavily redacted and classified. It took a bit of doing to get through some of those classified walls. What he had found behind them was quite surprising.


He was not a huge fan of Section 31.  They tended to go by the code of “do whatever you want to make the mission happen as long as you don’t get caught.” They generally do not have a moral code they follow. There were some lines that Michel was not willing to cross. He wondered where Lanista’s lines were.


The return of Halk put the room in a tithed, as did his announcement that his success at regaining his house would make this mission so much easier. Michael watched the reactions of the ambassadors to see if this news affected any of them.


There was no notable change with either Riven Mia’s, nor Setan McKenzie definitely seemed more agitated to press their advantage. It was if he and Lanista were on the same page, but she was unwilling to give him that acceptance.


Sekal called for medical attention and that was when Michael lost a little perspective. He hadn’t expected it to be Quinna to beam down and when she did his heart sped up a little.


He couldn’t help but feel protective, in that they were still in a semi-volatile situation. But he also knew well that Quinna could handle herself.


He shifted his weight to push off the wall and strode over to where she was working on Galk’s shoulder. He came up behind her and looked over her shoulder.


“What’s up doc?” he said lightly. “Will Galk be able to keep his arm?”
