(Qo'nos - Diplomatic Quarters - Ambassador Quentin McKenzie - 0945)


McKenzie listened to the conversation and couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He’d been making the same argument with his colleagues for the past two days about their posture, but now that it was coming from some “Klingon expert” he was immediately discounted and she’s a damn genius. He didn’t really understand where everything went topsy turvy, but it was more than he could handle.


Let the damn female hybrid do whatever she was going to do. If he couldn’t get his own people to listen to his advice what was the likelihood of getting the Klingons to listen. Perhaps he needed to kill somebody. He certainly felt up to it at the moment.


As the conversation wound down he heard Lanista say, "Captain, precisely how Klingon would you like me to be in this apparently unavoidable blood-letting?”


He couldn’t take it any more. “Are you people not listening to anything being said. Pe’tah just told you that our Federation interests will have smoother road now. Why are we still talking about blood-letting. Whatever the Minister is talking about, that is a Klingon matter, not a Federation one.”


He turned to Lanista, “If your intention is to represent Klingon interest here perhaps it is best that you resign from the fleet and join up with Minister Pe’tah. He clearly has his head on straight.”


Then he turned to Sekal, “Captain, if the conversation of getting involved in Klingon politics continues then I will have little choice but to report this to command. This is simply not our place.”


Finally he turned to his fellow ambassadors, “Gentlemen, I implore you, let’s keep our mindset focused on our goal, the continued non-aggression between our two governments. Why are we still allowing them to speak of Federation officers attempting some kind of a bloody coup?”
