Mission: For Honor
Day: 5
Stardate: 2446.04.29

(Q'onoS — Time-Pod — aCSO LT tlha'nISta' — 0902)

Lanista returned to the time-pod. She set the weapons she had on her person
back in their proper places in her "honor display" and dressed in attire
more appropriate to a Starfleet officer participating in an official
capacity. Given the diplomatic nature of the mission, this meant the (very
uncomfortable) Class-A uniform. She then took up only one weapon: the
QojmeH mupwI warhammer she had earned years and years ago during a matter
of honor while on hiatus from the USS Mithrandir-A. The warhammer was
proported to be the implement used by qeylIS himself before his invention
of the betleH. Whether it was genuinely that particular artifact of Klingon
history (and legend), its reputation would certainly cause something of a
stir planet-side. It was the one weapon Lanista owned that, by its nature,
no one could take from her without challenging her to lethal combat. Lani'
grinned broadly at the circumstance this would instigate. ~Present them
with a quandary,~ she mused.

(Q'onoS — Q'onoS, Diplomatic Receiving Esplanade — aCSO LT tlha'nISta' —
0913)

Lani' beamed down in the typical way after transmitting her intent and
receiving authorization. Immediately upon being made entirely intact again,
she announced to those present who she was and what her business aground
would be — that the Captain of the Illuminar required her arrival and
interaction.

As expect, the guards and the officer in command of that detail thought it
their responsibility to seize the QojmeH mupwI warhammer. The pattern of
the weapon was distinctive — so much so that attempts to replicate the
genuine article had always met with flawed results. There were innumerable
fraudulent "relics" sold and resold throughout the Empire, a trade driven
by the mystique connected with the legends. The captain of the guard
produced a Klingon tricorder and scanned the warhammer. The read-out
confounded him. Every indication asserted the artifact was genuine. In his
confusion and consternation, the guard-captain waved Lanista through.

(Q'onoS - Diplomatic Quarters – aCSO LT tlha'nISta' - 0917)

Once back with her C.O., Lanista apologized for the delay. "Very well,
Captain, what would you now have me do?" she then asked, smiling at her use
of Klingon devotation to their own lore. It would cause a ripple of a
desire for action among the guard detail (and probably already was) but the
pageantry had accomplished the immediate goal: dispense with formality in
the name of expediency.

NRPG: the warhammer in question is a "relic" of one of the very last
missions I participated in before my unfortunate, prolonged hiatus due to a
lack of Internet access.
