Mission: For Honor
Day: 5
Stardate: 2446.04.29
(USS Illuminar - Deck 4, Transporter Room 1 - SecO, Lieutenant Galk, Son of
Jos of the House of Kor - 0740)
The Klingon was rotating into the security contingent for the diplomatic
party. Why was he only just now going down to the planet that was once the
home of his House? It had at one time been the cornerstone of the Empire,
the Imperial House, now only a memory and only one now claimed it. Not that
Galk had claimed it until 5 years ago after his visit to Rura Pente, a
visit that had changed his life and carried a blood oath with it. The time
had come to see that oath to its conclusion. It could change his life or
transform it in ways he could only imagine but if the house of Kor was to
rise once more from the ashes his purpose must now be revealed at a time
that could be a turning point in the relations between two great powers.
This idea wasn't lost on him, he would succeed or fail and if he failed ...
well, the consequences might be felt throughout the quadrant. Many would
find the strain of such an oath a burden but he relished it in a way, it
gave his life meaning.
Galk looked toward Hammons who was also going down. The human gave him a
sideways glance. "You haven't been yourself since we got here my friend.
Anything I should know?"
The Klingon gave him a long look. "No."
Hammons gave him an exaggerated sigh. "I may not be a Klingon but I don't
like the way you said that. It sounded like you were saying I shouldn't
know."
Galk gave him a glower. "I said there is nothing you need to know."
"It's not WHAT you said it's HOW you said it. It's got my spidey sense
tingling. You're also dressed more ... Klingon today. Reliving the good old
days?"
Galk would never understand this humans use of such euphemisms that he
didn't understand, he shrugged his shoulders but made no further reply.
Hammons whistled. "You see? You're doing it again. If you need anything all
you have to do is say so. And what is that leather bag you are lugging on
your back that almost as big as you are?"
The Klingon's shaggy mane danced as he shook his head then rumbled. "There
is nothing you can do here. Your concern is appreciated however. And
this...," he shifted the case that was strapped to his back, "..., this is
a something that belongs here."
Hammons gave him a worried look then turned his head to the transporter
officer. Why did he have this bad feeling? Galk's words, his manner all
hinted at something suppressed. It was the feeling you got from someone you
knew well and it always pays to know how your partner thinks, that is the
only way to know if you can trust them with your life. Before the low whine
started he spoke simply. "I've got your back partner."
Galk's words were lost as they faded away and they weren't meant to be
heard anyway.
"Not this time Hammons."

The two solidified with Galk looking resigned and Hammons worried. Jared
Boyles walked over with s grin that faded as he looked from one to the
other. "What's going on?"
"I don't know and he won't say." Hammons jerked his thumb at Galk. What is
the itinerary for today?
"The Klingons sent word that the meeting for today will be delayed and no
one is sure why but it looks like they are in council. There's no telling
what they are talking about."
"Where is Lieutenant Trei?"
Boyles glanced over at Galk. "Talking to the Lieutenant Commsnder last I
saw her."
The burly warrior pushed past him.
"Hey where are you going?"
Galk turned to the two. "I have something of importance to do today and it
involves Lieutenant Trei." He walked off leaving the two speechless for a
moment, a first for Hammons.
"What is that Klingon up to?"
"As I said I don't know and he isn't saying" Hammons poked Boyles. "But
I've got a bad feeling buddy."

They were easy to find, he only had to follow the sound of their voices
once the door opened and he stepped onto the veranda. The sky was reddish
and glowering and he sucked in a deep lung full of air. The planet of his
birth and perhaps today his death. But if he died it would be as he lived,
as a warrior.
He stepped over to them. "Lieutenant Commander, Lieutenant Trei." He
rumbled.
(Reply: T'Mur, Trei)
"I understand that the council is in session and I have urgent business
with them that involves the Lieutenant " He glanced at Ariel. "We can
assist one another, me as her advocate and her as my cha'dich."
(Reply: T'Mur, Trei)
His eyes were hard as he looked at T'Mur. "This must be done and it can not
wait. This is my home and these are my people. I will do this with or
without permission."
