(USS Illuminar - Jeffries Tube - CEO - Lt. Bohb - 0318)

Bohb listened as the cadets tried to bumble through their explanations, each taking a shot at it.

"Well Sir, you see, it is Commander Gregory's orders sir," one of the girls, a slight blonde began.

"Yes, Sir, standing orders for Operations cadets to know every part of the ship,” the girl with purple hair said.

"Like the back of our hands, he said," the sole male member of the group added. "That way we know where ships systems are in case there is a catastrophic failure."

It all came full circle back to the blonde girl, "And we need to find someplace by memory.”

Bohb gave them a disbelieving look and said, “So you are telling me Commander Gregory ordered you to deface the interior of my warp nacelle?” Bohb asked.

"Oh this, Sir? A good question, Sir. We took some images to show the Commander," the young danced around the accusation.

"We hope you weren’t inconvenienced si,” the blonde girl said, trying to look as innocent as she sounded.

Bohb stared at the trio harshly. He was being lied to. He knew it. He knew that they knew he knew it. There was an uncomfortable shift in the air of the nacelle.

Suddenly Bohb started to laugh. It was a hard and hearty laugh. He pulled himself up and sat on the edge of tube. When he stopped he looked at the confused faces of the cadets.

“Those have been some of the best excuses I’ve ever heard,” he finally said. “I’m certain the commander will be happy to hear how you so easily threw him into the plasma stream of your excuses. It was under his orders.” He laughed again. “This will be as good a tale for us as the one you are going to tell your friends.”

Then he grabbed Diggery by his collar and pulled him close, “But you’re not going to tell your friends, are you?” The cadet shook his head violently, certain he was about to die a horrible and agonizing death. “Because the secrecy is a good deal of the fun. You should have seen the handprint I left on the nacelle of the Hades.”

Feeling the tension disperse he let go of Diggery and smiled. “Tell me children, how close are you to completing the list?”
