"Debrief you? Why would SFI debrief you?  That would be thejob of Security.  What would you need to be debriefed about?" 

“Well, I’ve been to places like Farius Prime,Ferengi space and the Nyberrite Alliance,” Alex said. 

~And I’ve met people and seen things in thoseplaces.~ Things that Starfleet Intelligence might want to know. 

For example, he had encountered a pirate shipcalled the Black Heart. According to the databases that Alex could access, theship had been destroyed by the Gorn several years ago. But Alex knew where tofind logs that proved the vessel was still active at least six months after itwas supposedly blown up. 

"And why would your information be incorrect. They get that information fromyou.  Unless you intentionally mislead them?" 

“A, I’m not the kind to mislead. And B, the recruiterwho signed me up was way to sharp a cookie for that. So C, I did provide thefull and accurate list. The things is, the list cannot be fully confirmed usingjust Federation databases, you’d have to ‘call around’ to do that.”

“For example, there was this ‘cargo drone’ calledthe 247. According to the Federation database, it is sitting in a Tholiansurplus depot gathering dust. But if you called the Tholians and asked themabout it, they would have told you how the manager of that depot was crooked. Insteadof storing the ships send its way, it was selling them on the black market. Andif a ship was in too bad a shape for wholesale, it would strip it down to thespaceframe for parts it could sell.” 

NRPG: I’m presuming that like their mirror universecounterparts, Tholians are hermaphrodites. RPG: 

Alex scratched his beard and continued. “And the NyberriteAlliance could tell you that they impounded that ship in Sector Four of theirspace with extensive modifications and that it is now sitting in one of theirsurplus depots. But the list reads like they simply took the Federationdatabase for truth and scratched out anything it did not confirm.”
