(USS Illuminar - Deck 6 - Science Lab 2 - SecO - Ensign Andy Taylor -1131)

It had been a fairly humdrum day on the Illuminar. Everyone had left the ship for the wedding of the century, leaving a skeleton crew to make sure the Illuminar did fall out of the sky, or get blown up. Taylor couldn’t believe that he was thinking it, but he almost missed his time on the Rhyne. There was always something exploding, or someway to utilize his demolition skills. Now… he hadn’t blown anything up in weeks and he missed it.

So he had gotten a little excited when Gregory had him join him for a breaking and entering in progress in science lab 2. Science lab 2, are you kidding. Don’t people know that’s Penn and Teller’s lab? What would anyone do in there, except die. And if you asked Larry Day, then come back with nobody remembering who you are like you never existed. Like Lt. Lee.

When they got there they found it to be two new guys. One he had seen before on the bridge with Grey Wolf, learning to pilot the Illuminar. The other, looked like it was his first week. And was he ever a sight to behold. He had heard others talk about him, and his unusual “uniform” but this was the first time seeing him. Vermin or Vermyx or something like that.

When Gregory called out the names he knew which was which. Vermyx. He looked like a hood from the early twentieth century.

“They are to be confined to the brig until their court-marshal,” Gregory ordered. Charges will be drawn up forthwith by the JAG in consultation with the Captain.”

Then Gregory looked at Taylor, his face ready to spit plasma, “Cuff them and take them to the brig, separate

cells. Make sure to do a thorough scan and pat down for any contraband. Post two guards on this door 24/7 until the Doctors return and can confirm nothing was touched or damaged."

“Yes, sir,” Andy replied. He was disappointed he didn’t get to shoot anyone, but hey, the day was young. Maybe they’d make a run for it.

Taylor held out a set of wrist restraints and they clamped around Vermyx’s wrist. Then he repeated the action for Dyson. With a movement of his head the team urged the two of them down the corridor. Looked like they were going to get the walk of shame rather than a simple STS transport to the brig.

As they stepped off the turbolift and entered the brig entrance Dyson looked at Taylor.

“Can I have a PADD?” heasked. “To record my statement? Trust me, it’ll make the paperwork much easier.”

Taylor chuckled, “There is no way to make the paperwork on this any easier. Even if you were to openly confess that you were going to sabotage the lab, we’d still have paperwork to file. But you can make your statement in the cell.”

He put Dyson in cell1 then moved to Vermyx, who had ceased struggling and almost looked comfortable in the cuffs. He had opted to used his right to remain silent, and wisely so. Once they were both secured he stepped back.

“There is a PADD installed into the wall that I can activate if you want to record tor statements,” Taylor said, looking at Dyson, “or say whatever you need to say. You’ll get fed on Alpha shift schedule so lunch is in about an hour. Don’t worry, we’re not animals, you’ll get fed. If you need something let us know.”

He went over to the quiet Vermyx and looked at him through the security field, “Aynything you want or need?”

(reply Vermyx, Dyson)
