(USS Illuminar - Deck 10 – Flight Control Center - FSXO Tempest Grey Wolf –
0952)

She and the flight control tech were watching a holo image of the
battlefield over the secondary console that had been enlarged and was being
fed from the link to the Illuminar's fighters.

 Their side was having some initial successes with a carefully executed
maneuver that might have broken through a lesser enemy. Bravo Squadron
however as she knew had pilots that were equal to their best and they were
marked with simple numerals while the others of Bravo squadron had call
signs.

"Deuce and Snake Eyes. Damn! They're circling and watching for an opening."

"Who are those guys?" The tech asked as he looked up.

"1 and 2, named for numbers on a die that spell trouble. 1 is Snake Eyes
and 2 is Deuce or more properly Deus Ex. Those guys are their best and
they've pushed Bravo into being the best of the best on Mars."

"Sound nasty." The tech opened his mouth to say more but it snapped shut as
the numbered fighters dove into the thick of the scrum and the fighters of
Montero and Dyson began to light up like pinball bumpers.

"Damn!"

Tempest let out a snort of rage and slapped the comm. "Knights keep your
eyes open for those two, they are going to wipe the field if you let them."

She began to pace. "They were sitting back waiting for an opening while our
guys were engaged. They are the ultimate monkey wrench for us in this
battle, they aren't part of any neat, orderly engagement and they will
grind you to mincemeat if you don't account for them. They are the f.....g
winds of chaos on a battlefield!"
