Mission: Death in the Shadows
Day: 9
Stardate 2446.02.09
(Sigma Draconis VI - Underground - Cadet Surkal – 1339)
His call had been answered, by no less than the Captain, even. He
raised an eyebrow in interest and replied in a leveled tone to the CO,
"Understood, Captain."
He was content to wait, but it would do no one any good, so he took
the time to examine his cell closely. Most of it was smooth, metallic
and no purchase to make any form of escape or even deductive guesses
as to their circumstances. He noted the location of heat on his own
wall, it's nearness to the door made it expectant of him to believe
this was the controls for his door. Shortly after, he located a small
recess that dispensed what appeared to be water.
Just as he was getting scientific with the liquid, he heard a
significant burst. He turned and moments later, met eyes with the
Captain through the forcefield, "Mr. Surkal. Mr Galk we do not have
time to figure out the correct sequence to deactivate the force
field," which prompted the large menace of a Klingon to fire towards
the wall where Surkal had noted heat, knocking out the door blockade.
Surkal stood tall and offered a very brief Vulcan salute as Sekal
ordered him to follow, "Come cadet, our hosts will be along shortly
and we do not want to make their search for us simple. The Controller
will doubtless not be expecting an armed force to answer her summons."
"Yes, sir," Surkal was efficient and needed little else to be said.
Three Vulcans and a Klingon, skulking down hallways would be easy to
find unless they could get out quickly. He took up post ahead of Galk
and behind T'Mur. He kept his voice low so as to keep it from
carrying, but he did need to know more if he was to be useful, so he
spoke as they moved, "Captain, what is our current objective and where
are we?"

He could feel his PADD and stylus in his pockets, useful for taking
notes in order to further commit his progress and and correct his
failures. Their progress was slow enough that he could momentarily
stop without causing a hiccup. Surkal slipped the flat tablet out of
his pocket and experimentally tapped on it, seeing his last notes
appear. He put the item back in its spot and offered the info, "Sirs,
I am currently unsure as to how useful it will be, however, my PADD
and Stylus appear to remain functional and active."
