Mission: Death in the Shadows
Day: 9
Stardate 2446.02.09
(USS Illuminar - Deck 1 - Bridge - CO - Captain Sekal - 1325)
He stood once again to his feet as the reports came in. The Controller had
been seemingly desperate to protect the very ones who had been sowing death
and discord in the quadrant with the weapons taken from the surface of the
planet. The burden of proof was on the Orion syndicate that appeared to be
behind the operation. That some residents of this planet had entered
StarFleet in the past would seem to logically skew the narrative however
she had been intransigent on the point. Whatever benefits ties to the
Orions gave to her civilization would seem to be hefty considering her
desire to safeguard the operation.
Nor did she seem to feel any compulsion to hold back the ships that were
intent on leaving the planet's gravity well in order to pursue the
Illuminar.
The Vulcan stepped forward toward navigation prepared to say something when
his form became indistinct.
Galk who had been standing alertly on the bridge caught it and sprang with
impossible speed toward the Captain with a shout. Had he been intending to
knock the CO out of the area? There was no way to know. As soon as he
touched the Vulcan they both winked out of existence.
(Sigma Draconis VI - Underground- CO - Captain Sekal and SPC Ensign (sg)
Galk - 1327)
The Vulcan found himself borne to the ground heavily by a body slamming
into him. He twisted while bringing his left arm under the attacker and as
he rolled used his strength to separate himself from the other. It was dim
and the rough stone floor jarred him painfully but the other went rolling
away for a short distance. Sekal sprang to his feet with them planted
solidly as he readied a back-handed chop to the neck of his assailant.
Galk rolled to his knees but remained down and raised his hands. "Captain."
"Mr. Galk." Sekal relaxed his stance a bit. "What was the meaning of the
attack?"
"You were being transported out and I attempted to remove you from the
field but was too late." The Klingon spat in disgust.
The two realized they were not alone and spun at once toward the location
of the other who had just spoken.
