"Thank you for coming," said Solice.
Reea had taken a seat along with the rest of the medical staff.
"After last week, I have decided to make some changes to the routine," said Solice.
That didn't sound good. Change was inevitable, but it was usually inconvenient.
Quinna went on to talk about how she had been neglecting herself, leading to becoming a patient. The entire department could see what was happening, but Quinna was resisting being helped. Doctors really were the worst patients. She then dropped a bombshell.
"I need to focus on the administrative aspect of sickbay. Until such further time, I will not be taking care of patients."
Reea thought about that. She could understand this decision, as Quinna might not be fit to treat anyone right now.
Quinna had been spending time with Weston. At first, Reea thought they were just having some fun, but her instincts were telling her there was much more.
"Doctor Reea, I believe that Captain Sekal has already given you orders," said Solice.
Reea nodded. "Yes."
Quinna assigned duties to the others, having to threaten to send Doctor Quincy off the ship if he didn't accept his.
"Our current mission is not heavily detailed in medical, however," said Solice. "Keep on your toes."
Reea knew what that meant, but she wondered about its origin. How did being on one's toes make them more alert? It seemed to her they would be less so, as they would be concentrating on keeping their balance. Reea had a long way to go in understanding Hewmons.
"I will be available when needed. Just call me. Anything else?" said Solice.
Of everything Quinna said, this made Reea the most suspicious. Reea didn't know the details, but there were things happening on the ship and it centered around Weston, and Quinna was spending a lot of time with him. She had questions, but none she cared to ask in an open meeting.
