Sitting in the observation area of Holosuit 1, Lt Keung Lee and ensign Kolr Loceu  watched the action of the cadets.  They decided not to unnerve the cadets being present in the proposed action.

Jane Walker who was given the responsibility of being team leader for this exercise was sitting next to the pilot who was piloting the runabout as they made their approach to the Orion ship. Jane   glanced down at her chronometer...15 minutes before contact. Silent communications was the order of the day!

Behind her sat the rest of her team.  Eish  Cuish, Ray Wong and Winston Soar. Jane glanced back to see that they were getting ready and in the main, silent and she had guessed that everyone had their own thoughts about what they had to do.  They were all nervous.  Ensign Kor had issued them with heavy phaser arms and also had been issued with combat knives and small single bladed axes.  The Klingon had disabled partly the safety protocols.

The Orion ship loomed ahead. As Jane put on her helmet, the rest of the team including the pilot put theirs on as well.  The pilot laid in a set of instructions for the runabout to approach the shuttle and connect the hull with the breaching pods.

"Standby." Said Jane as she felt a gentle shudder as the breaching pods touched the hull. A red light lit up on the panel in front of him. "We have latched on - s get ready! Arming breaching sequence... now! Fire in the hole in four, three, two, one..."



"Go! Go! Go!" ordered Jane, as she charged ahead. The cadetss rushed through the smoke and flying debris in well-drilled precision.

Eish was the first to climb into the tube and when he appeared on the deck of the Orion ship, the others were already spreading out in an offensive perimeter behind him. He could see Jane looking at her tricorder.

Ray assumed a defensive position near team leader.. Drawing his sword in one hand and phaser Rifle in the other, he mentally dared any one to take a shot at him. He could feel the adreneline pumping, however, he knew he could do nothing until ordered

 Their target was engineering and the cadets continued to move through the upper levels of the Orion ship with Jane leading and Winston taking up the rear. Jane’s tricorder readings still showed that there were no life signs detected.

Out of the corner of jane's eye she saw three Orion crew members, quickly giving the signal to stop and take cover she moved to go scout. The cadet activated a stun grenade and tossed it toward the unsuspecting crewmen.

The Orions choked on the sedative smoke and fell to the ground. Aly gave the signal indicating that all was clear and the cadets continued around the corner.

The cadets reached the Mess Hall, where some of the Orion crew were beginning to react to the boarding action. Ray tossed a grenade, shouting "Fire in the hole!" as the otherss took cover. Before the smoke from the explosion cleared, the cadets were charging into the room. Orions who had been seating at their tables were standing, disoriented, shouting and coughing. Armed with phaser rifles, they fired into the mass of bodies at full settings.

Eish  was taking advantage of his role as a sniper as he picked off individual targets, as Winston provided fire support with heavy weapons.

It took a few minutes longer as some stragglers appeared from the cargo bay firing indiscriminately as they came rushing out on to the cargo bay. With the entrance already covered by the team outside, they were immediately hit by a barrage of phaser fire.

"Clear," shouted Jane.  “Now to engineering”

The team broke into Engineering, overcoming the last bits of armed resistance.


“We overcome, adapted and we beat them!” roar Winston hitting the air with his fists.



“Not bad at all.”  Said Lee to the Klingon who grunted with approval.
