(USS Illuminar – Bridge – COps Lieutenant Dieter Gregory – 1400)

The trip to Vulcan was uneventful, allowing Gregory to get two days of 
command time under the watchful eye of the Captain.He knew that there 
was going to be much more work ahead of him as he learned the role. Even 
though he had completed the required coursework, he had hoped to take 
this downtime around Vulcan to review some of the areas his assessments 
indicated he could use improvement.

With the Captain and most of the senior staff leaving for the planet, 
Gregory offered to stay behind.One to catch up on his operations 
paperwork and two just to log hours on the bridge.He hoped to get a 
better feeling of everything while it was quiet.

At the moment he was standing in front of the Master Systems Display.It 
was a masterwork of displays, and at a glance, a trained individual 
could get up to the second data about pretty much everything about the ship.

Right now, he was busy studying the MSD so he knew in an instant what 
each display showed, and how to interpret it.He’d have to run some 
drills on the holodeck later simulating different conditions for him to 
recognize from the data and offer a solution.

All systems were green.The board was pretty quiet.

“Lieutenant,” a voice called.“I have the requisitions you wanted to review.”

Gregory turned to see Ensign Chifukukku standing there, PADD in hand.

“Thank you, Mr. Chifukukku,” he said, taking the PADD from the 
man.Walking back to the command chair, he sat down and started reviewing 
the material.
