Mission: Space was cool before it mattered

 

Day: 1

 

Stardate: 2446.04.25

 

 

(USS Exeter – Sickbay – Nurse – CPO – Ewan McDonald - 1410)

 

“And there he was standing totally covered in it from head to toe. Itwas absolutely disgusting but that was not the best part?”

 

“Really.”

 

Ewan grinned widely at his colleague.

 

“That’s not the best part.”

 

“No, the best part is that he was…”

 

The comm channel clicked into life.

 

=^= Nurse McDonald, please meet the one and only Dr. Kruze in shuttlebay 1 right away=^= 

 

All humour vanished in an instant as both of then became professionalagain.

 

~Ow this can’t be good~

 

“Yes, sir on my way.”

 

He stood up from the nurse’s station and nodded to his colleague.

 

“Looks like I’ll hear the rest of the story when I get back.”

 

He grabbed a large medkit that was placed on a trolly by the doors tosickbay for this kind of situation and slung it over his shoulder as he ran outof sickbay. 

 

(Cheron CX-01- interior - Nurse – CPO – Ewan McDonald - 1417)

 

Ewan entered the Cheron and paused for a moment to get his bearings. Hehad not been on board before but found an empty seat and sat down on it. As he stowedhis medical kit beside him he looked at the other people who were going withhim. 

 

~Okay Ewan just because they are all Lieutenants, and you are a CPO you area professional just as they are. You also have 18 years of experience underyour belt so get your game face on~

 

"The distress signal says that they have a build-up of Radiation intheir environmental support systems and that according to their sensors of theexterior of the facility beaming out may be a little dicey." 

~This could get nasty quickly~ 

Ewan paused for a moment before speaking.

 

“Excuse me sirs. Do we know if there are any other injures apart fromthe radiation?” 

 

~Plan for the worst, hope for the best andalways have a plan b~
