"Of course, Sir. Will do."





Alex looked at Lieutenant Cortez. His personal feelings aside, She was a
good officer, able and earnest. Her idea for cross departmental training
made sense when you took into account all the possibilities. Sure, they had
medics, and pilots aplenty, half of the mars fighter wing it seemed, but on
missions where numbers were limited, an officer who could double up a role
or simply be a backup, was invaluable.



“Excellent. Now, your next steps will be to see Doctor Kruze, and
Lieutenant Frost, this is still on their say so, and training has to fit
around your primary duties as part of your CPD.”



He paused, collating his thoughts, then smiled. “Right. I’d better not keep
you, You have a lot on with your department and our visitors. Dismissed
Lieutenant.”

He watched as Erin turned and walked toward the door and just before she
reached it he spoke once more. “Erin.”

His eyes twinkled, “I’m not sure about you. I always keep half an eye on my
private messages as well as my work ones.” He winked, a look in his eyes
that expressed his playful nature.
